My 2015 f150 Lariat is currently in the shop at Ford. They are diagnosing it today. Yesterday the Service AdvanceTrac light came on. I lost all power and was able to coast to a lot. I turned off the truck and restarted it and it went away. Drove 20 minutes home with no issue. Today I was going up a hill taking it to the shop and the Hill assist and the Service AdvanceTrac came on. Same thing, pulled over and restarted. Went straight to Ford. Thanks for the video. I can update later when I hear from them.
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367 results, they replaced my throttle body and all was good after a test run. So far so good. $500 repair. I have an extended warranty so it was $100 out of pocket. Ive had more things done in the past year and this warranty has really paid for its self many times. 87k miles on my 2015. Thanks
So were the wires burned? Melted insulation? Abrasion damage? Chewed by critters? Did it look like the same type of damage at both ends of the harness? I started having the Hill Descent control warning, no function on cruise control, and bad throttle response today (2016 F150 2.7L 74K miles).
It was rubbed through in both the places I pointed out in the video. No real sign of chewing. Did not make a lot of since. You may have a different problem this video was more intended for just “check here”. Good luck!
I have a 2015 F-150 with 50K miles on it. This was my issue and I was told it was near the break pedal as my stopping lights stayed on. A plastic (not nylon) grommet broke and did not engage the striker. Sure enough, the rear tail lights starting working again and all was good after I put in a #8 screw and bolt to hit the striker. NOW, it is doing the same thing with hill decent fault and engine light coming on. I also notice my key fob will not start the vehicle, it just beeps at me. I will be taking this in to Ford as I do not see the burnt wires anywhere from your video. I have watched other videos and they are really good. I did subscribe as I like the content. But I do have one question.... Toward the end of the video, you straighten a stack of papers, sat down and proceeded to pull one page off at a time until the end you went through like 4 or so. What was that about??? hahahaha, I was rolling. I guess if you let us know "here is all the research and paperwork I went through to mitigate the issues" that would make more sense. Again, great videos and the four I have watched are well worth it....
I’m currently having the same issue. Was driving between 65-70 and all of sudden I started to lose acceleration and I’d get the same exact codes on the cluster (hill descent, etc.) I’d pull over turn it off then on and it’s back to normal.
My 2015 started having these faults a few days ago... I've seen other videos that claim it could be the throttle body... Did you have any issues with yours or was it just the wires?
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367 i called my local mechanic and he mentioned that is most probably some wiring issue. this is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened previously before changing the throttle body in august 2022. when taking the truck to FORD they say they dont see any problems and also no codes showing. i left the car in a plaza right now and will be trying to turn back on drive it home. i can put into drive and slowly rolls foward but no acceleration. RPM not moving
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367 thanks for the reply...same problem exists....changed accelator pedal sensor, changed throttle body and harnesses. FORD dealership can not duplicate problem and no have no answers. most recently car shut off before christmas
Quite possible no real reason for the damage to o cure that I could find. It may be somthing else this is just what I found. Thanks for comment and watching
I have a 2014 Raptor Roush Edition so it’s a little different on the wiring but it pointed me in the right direction! I was replacing all kinds of stuff! Then I found probably 10 wires that were messed up! Gonna tackle it tomorrow
Mine was the Throttle body Actuator was stuck. I have the same truck same year. I got ripped off over 4,000 supposedly it was the transmission but after few years I had the same issue and it came out to be that I needed a new throttle body. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Girlfriend’s 2017 F150 Roush just started having similar problems. Hill start assist/advance trac needing service, airbag light and shit acceleration. I think this is it
One set of wires was on the top of the intake towards the back passenger side above the intake. Other spot was on the top of the core support underneath the radiator. Good luck!
Yes most likely. I’m not sure how poorly your particular truck is running but it it has drive-ability issues I would get it addressed quickly. Good luck thanks for the comment!
My 2016 truck just did this on Monday. They replaced the throttle body and in the test drive it did the same thing again. Not to encouraging after reading everyone's comments. Sounds like it should be a recall item from Ford to me, and is a major issue. If they say the wiring harness is fried and will cost 4000 to fix, I'll get an attorney and sue Ford. I only have 50,000 on the truck, to soon to have that kind of an issue. Don't know why they put an engine cover on the engine, seems like it would trap in too much heat and fry wires.
I don’t think the engine cover is the issue per say. One of the spots is under the radiator above smooth metal. Really could not make a solid guess on what caused my dads corrosion. I know it did not take me 4000 to repair. More like 30 to 50. Hopefully they can get it fixed for you. Thanks for the comment and keep me updated.
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367 Yes I agree that it's not the engine cover per say, I was just making a general statement that it seems like the engine cover could or probably would contribute to additional heat under the hood. Heat is probably a contributor to some of the problems with all the electronics and computers on the new cars of today. All you have to do is leave your phone in the sun and it will shut down until it cools off, just wondering how much it could affect the electronics under the hood too. By the way, It was the throttle body causing the issue with the warning lights. They said they did additional work on it and it solved the problem. They said it was an electronic part . In any event, its running great and I have it back and it was not as expensive as I thought it would be. I loved your video and looking forward to seeing more of them, thank you sir.

Im having the same issues with my 2015 F150 KR :(

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny. I don’t know why I kept going through the papers, but it was ridiculous to find the issue.
I’m currently having the same issue. Was driving between 65-70 and all of sudden I started to lose acceleration and I’d get the same exact codes on the cluster (hill descent, etc.) I’d pull over turn it off then on and it’s back to normal.
Good luck this is starting to have some issues. The wires might just be starting to go bad or there could be something else going on.

Realistically it could be a lot of different things!
This on was just the wires.
mine was the throttle body .
Same, 2015 f150 KR, replaced throttle body, still having the same issue(s)
Mine was the throttle body, I had it replaced two years ago. Then the problem happened again so I dunno
I had the same issue. My harness that goes past the emergency brake. I stepped on the emergency brake hard a couple of times and now it works.
Yeah, this was a bit tough
Good knowledge
Thanks!
Sitting in my car and this is exactly what I am going through. Changed pedal sensor and throttle body. Ford dealership really not helpful
Good luck you can always check the harnesses where I found issues on my dad’s truck. They’re not that hard to get to.

Did you check for wire problems in affected areas?

This one place to check but it’s not a sure thing
