    Thankfully I've found your channel, got a 2.2 and 3.2 Ranger, both have ABS fault, Electronic Stability Control ESC service lights on, tried a new ABS sensor on the left N/S, no change on the wheel rotation, now I know how to find a wiring fault and more importantly the areas to find the broken wire. Many thanks, great video and a big help !!!

    An excellent and very thorough video. Thanks. My 2016 BT50 had a wire break on the LHR sensor (Brown/ Green wire) at the exact same point at the axle clamp. Your video gave me the confidence that this was the stress point. The cable sheath plastic is not flexible, so no wonder the wheel speed sensor wires break here when flexed by axle movement. My local auto electrician was less than helpful and didn't even know where the ABS module was.

    Always a pleasure to watch your simple and effective method to find faults, your video could genuinely be used to show apprentice mechanics the correct method to fault find wiring.

      Thank you Robert 🙏🙏
      Funny you say that as I know for a fact that my videos are used in college to train apprentices. One of my new staff had mentioned that his lecturer was using my videos to teach the class.
      Very proud 💪💪🙏🙏

      @@GerardBurkeBurkesGarage I’m not surprised. It’s shocking the amount of mechanics that won’t investigate wiring issues correctly as they just don’t know or care, I have worked with many of them and seen it first hand. With your videos being shown in colleges the next generation of mechanics have a great start got. Love the videos, thanks Gerard 👌🏻

    I wish i knew where your Auto repair shop is, i can take my Ranger to you guys. It’s hard to find someone to trust to do decent work on vehicles nowadays here in Southern California.

    I noticed on a video also done in Australia and the break is always on the curve where it joins to the rear axle from above.

    Hi Gerard, where did you obtain your wiring diagram for the repair ? Great video , thank you from Ireland

    • @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage
      @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage  2 роки тому +2

      Wiring diagrams can be obtained from any of the common main sources, all data, auto data, haynes pro and I am sure there are others as well.
      Thanks for watching Aiden 🙏🙏

    Which tool is it that you’re using to wireless detect sensor voltage in real time? Is it an obd scanner?

    Hi Gerard, I have a 2018 ranger which is showing the same faults but also a few more.

    U0415:00-48
    I think they were all the same faults on your video, replaced the OSR ABS sensor but still nothing cleared. Can you help?
    Thanks Danielle

    I have a 2015 ford ranger where now and then the gearbox gets stuck in a gear and that light comes on. Do u think a sensor can cause a gearbox to get stuck in a specific gear. once i switch off the vehicle and on again the problem is gone for days if not weeks.

      I have the same issue on my ford everest 2020, using the scanner I get lost communication errors on almost all modules including ABS, PCM, PAM and more. Mine doesn’t start when these issues pop up but when it does start all errors go away. Any leads on how you managed to fix this?

    I saw nothing about the Hill Descent fault, unless fixing the broken sensor wire also fixed that fault....?
    I have a 2016 Ranger that also has this fault plus a Steering Assist Fault. This happened immediately after washing the vehicle. It seems as if something got wet and needs to be dried out or perhaps ti needs a party replaced, but IDK where to start. Can you help with this Steering Assist Fault?

      October 2024 for me too, had it down to the garage who thought maybe ABS pump. I'm convinced its not however, always the RR Wheel Sensor throwing the code plus when I clear the errors the speedometer is all over the show until the ABS is disabled, it then drives perfectly. Going to dig around in the loom before spending ££££ on an ABS pump which might not fix the issue!

    Did you know lots of main dealers won't allow the repair of wiring on anything to do with the braking system

    • @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage
      @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage  2 роки тому +1

      I didn't know that, but it doesn't shock me that they would choose not to, clearly way more money to be made in replacement rather than repair
