Put a deep socket Over the stud then weld a tic the heat will take it out with no cracking , I did this my first time in 2 weeks now I do them in 6 hours witch is not bad

Doing my 2018 Nissan Altima rn but im only changing the torque converter. When i put it in gear it kills the motor. If i push the car while started it drives good and shifts good. Payed just over 200 for torque converter so i figured i watch your video amdnsee what all meeds to come off. Im going to try not to drop sun fram because i only need enough room to change the torque converter. Hopefully it works and i dont have to drop everything

Dylan, thanks for the video, I just did this on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited today. Same process. I didn't remove the bolt you torched off. I separated the rear Cat at the connection at the Y pipe. I also removed left intermediate flex exhaust pipe completely. The biggest help with making enough room was removing the cross bolt on the engine/transmission mount like you did when reinstalling PTU. The problem I originally had was the PTU was leaking gear oil from the seal between where the transmission is connected to the PTU. I did this on jack stands in my driveway. I spent half a day removing it and then half the next day installing and reassembling everything. I watched the video three times before tackling the job.

Then i was able to drop trans side enough to remove variator cover then variator and chain. Getting ready for install now. I’m impressed with your skills with your tools. Helped me a lot….Thanks.

Could this work on a 2018 Dodge Journey? I just replaced my transmission filter, oil, gasket with 5.5 quarts of atf+4 valvoline oil and it's still showing a P0765 engine code. Idk if i need to just check my fluid level and drain some out if I overfilled or just replace my transmission solenoid pack itself.. theres no videos online for a 2018 Dodge Journey.

I’m doing this currently on my Mom’s car, I got a new torque converter for a 2014 and the trans for a 2016, I have everything lined up but the studs for the converter are barely a thread in the fly wheel, what did you do to bring the torque converter closer to the flywheel?
