Nice demonstration. Very important opening tip not to accidentally turn it inside out as I had once done that on a dandy, windy beach when I bought my first Clam model, the Escape. I read that it comes with a separate unattached floor but didn’t see it in video. I was very fortunate to find one yesterday (9/12/23) at Lowe’s marked down from $563 to $271 as it had been a Special Order that was returned unused (looks that way but haven’t set it up yet). I was able to negotiate the store manager down to $200. It is now awaiting first set up.

As a Minnesota couple over here, thanks for the helper here! WE are looking at one too!

I have a Clam Pavillion, one of the originals, where you have to buy the panels and the rain fly separately. When the Clam first came out, it didn't have zippers for side walls either. Good to see the improvements. We've had ours for years and love it. It's holding up well.

Hello, nice video review of the Clam, you mention a center tent pole in the video, curious about the pole you use as well as the picnic table you have, share links? Thanks, Mark

The pole is actually an adjustable pole we had from a previous awning. You can also use an adjustable shower rod.

the original clams did not have the sides, did not have the zippers and did not have the available floor. when they started producing the extra sides the sides attachments did not fit the old style of the clam. very disappointing as our old clam was very expensive but, none of the newer attachments fit my old clam. i love this new one, thanks for showing it.

How has it held up? I'm about to buy either the Pavilion or Gazelle G6 Deluxe. I like the Clam because of the floor, however I've seen other's report a lot of issues.

The Clam Pavilion 12.5 x 12.5 or Gazelle G6 Deluxe has been an excellent investment for us. Throughout my ownership, I have not encountered any manufacturing defects.
This shelter has weathered at least 10 wind storms without sustaining any damage or tears, showcasing its impressive durability.
To fortify the structure, I added extra stakes and a tent pole in the middle to prevent the roof from collapsing during heavy rainfalls.
The purchase of the flooring transformed the shelter into a more habitable space, resembling a tent. This has allowed my grandkids to enjoy overnight stays without the intrusion of mosquitoes.
I hope this information aids you in making an informed decision.

Would you use this as a temporary screened in porch if you had a concrete floored patio.? Im thinking about it...

can the front fly (door cover) be extended out as if it is an awning?

I have done that other awnings, but I would not recommend that with this one, sorry it took so long to get back with you. John
