This is just what I needed. I tend to be a tighter painter and want to be more intuitive. Thank you for sharing your gifts and abilities. God bless you!
I love this painting and appreciate you explaining things as you go along. What often perplexes me in landscapes as this is that it seems tough to prevent what can seem like two focal points - the cactus on the left and the mountain. The landscape almost has a path leading to the moutain, so my eye is drawn to both that and the cactus simultaneously. I have done paintings similar and often wonder about that. Any helpful insights appreciated. Thanks very much for your helpful tips and demonstrations.
Debbie Glass -Yes, I totally agree! I live in Southern Az and this was very helpful. I would love to see a painting of a desert scene during the monsoon season with the intensely colored skies.
thanks for the email directing me to this wonderful video. Had a wonderful time painting along but I didn't finish but have been going back to the video an will soon be finished. Your lessons are so wonderful with great explanations an easy to follow along. Your art is wonderful an you make one feel comfortable learning. Many thanks for sharing.
As I've only recently found/discovered your channel, I'm a bit late. However, I've been doing plein air painting as much as I can this summer. I have lots of flowers in my beds, and also I live on a (re-planted) prairie, and the flowers are amazing! I'm still working on my style, and control and such. So enjoy your videos, and especially this one which had me chuckling at one point.
thank you Angela...........so loose and lovely..........so important to like your results, but even for those paintings that you don't like, important to have fun doing them!
I just saw your video on black watercolor ground. I can't wait to try it. I even have a small 4" by 4" little canvas. Oh, but I need some black watercolor ground. Well it will be while but I'll send you a picture.
Thank you for sharing ! This one was a little (or big) eye opener for me , the wonderful depth you got when you kind of painted the shadows on the ground first and then painted the bushes and shrubbery on top. I have to try that... I also watched your brush technique, how you painted just with a very light touch of the top of the brush ,think that I goes in too heavily sometimes.... now I have to go out to take my own reference photo, because there are not so many cactuses around here where I live in Sweden😅 🙃again a big thank you for this!!
Hi Angela. This painting is beautiful. Makes me want to look for my photos taken in Arizona a few years ago. Always enjoy watching your videos. Trying to work some on the Heart-Led Landscapes class but going slower than I would like.
I absolutely love the process that you are going through ( and taking me along!) Very busy with amazing granddaughter right at this moment but ohhh so longing for my paintbrushes. You are bold and brave and edgy and at the same time, sooo comforting to me. You don't know yet what an impact those many hours in your studio have on the world. I AM GRATEFUL!
Lovely lesson. I'll be going to Zion National Park in a week or so & plan to do some painting from that inspiration. Your lesson is going to be watched again while I'm there! Thank you :)
I’m a beginning watercolorist and while I love your painting and your colors, I am a little confused: as the title of your video says “one-layer” painting... but it is obviously many many layers...? 🤔 Thank you

Thank you so much for a desert scene. I live in AZ and never see very many lessons on how to paint the southwest landscape.

Southern Nevada in the house! I hear you!
Looks like Superstition mountain. Grew up in Mesa Arizona.
Fantastic! Glad I found you because I am wanting to get into landscape more. You are great!

You do such beautiful work, Angela and make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant decision about the sky!

I love the bright focal point of pure colors. I just ordered some more DS tubes and can't wait to try this. Thank you for sharing and teaching!
I love this Southwestern scene! Enjoyed!

Love, love, love this tutorial! This is a very peaceful and serene painting. I'm going to give it a try today...

So beautiful, Angela.
This is so beautiful
Está precioso este tutorial, del desierto. Saludos desde la CDMX
beautiful landscape, I really love your style.
A really beautiful painting!
Having trouble finding this full-length video on your website. Willing to join to learn this one and more.
Not even three minutes in and just as many layers 😁
Thanks!!
I was wondering what size paper you’re using.
I’m a beginning watercolorist and while I love your painting and your colors, I am a little confused: as the title of your video says “one-layer” painting... but it is obviously many many layers...? 🤔
Thank you
Спасибо!!!
Hold on. 5 second in and you say second layer? The name of the video is *one* layer.
Which is it?
:-)
