Errors: At the 6.39 minute mark I say, "I keep that paint away from the paint edge." I should have said, "I keep that paint away from the water's edge." This is the best watercolour background "tutorial" that I have watched until now. You explained everything so clearly and concisely. Thank you for taking the time to also demonstrate what you were explaining by showing us how you had painted backgrounds on your own paintings. I, too, have been reluctant to paint backgrounds on my paintings for fear I would ruin them but now I'm excited to give these a try! Thanks again for the wonderful video. I'm so happy the UA-cam algorithm lead me to your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!
Not only do you explain techniques and what you don't want, you clearly demonstrate them which is so essential. I am inexperienced and everyone has a different idea in their head. If you actually show what you are talking about everyone is on same page. Best instructor ever!!!!

Oh my gosh! What a breath of fresh air you are! Love your vids every week. I’m getting some absolutely great tutoring from you. One thing I would love to see is how you would tackle a primarily black subject like a dog or cat. I’m struggling with this. I’m trying to paint a black German Shepard dog. I knew that I'd seen purposeful blooms somewhere !! Trying to do a consistent shape, monochromatic, bloom within a bloom background. Maybe "purposeful blooms" is a good title. Having so much fun making one "goof" after another. Thanks for being here.
