@@CurriesWithBumbi Every Friday is Indian Friday! I was going to make your Vindaloo but was missing three ingredients, then this recipe popped up, so I made this instead. My Grandmother came from Nagpur India and I am really sad that I didn't write down any recipes! Then I found your channel! Amazing you are Bumbi..💖💖
I just sent my husband a text about making this for dinner tonight and he is very much looking forward to it. I’m lucky because I have all the ingredients in my kitchen, so we will be eating very well tonight. Thanks Bumbi!
@@robronald354 We all loved it! It’s easy to make and tastes wonderful with either rice or roti (or both, I do love my carbohydrates). It really is a great recipe and comes together quickly.
Just made it. It tastes amazing! Hub said it’s restaurant-worthy. Makes me so happy! I added potatoes and yum! I used boneless thighs. Served with basmati (1 cup rice, 1/2 cinnamon stick, 2 cloves, 2 green cardamon; but next time will omit clove, too strong). Thank you, Bombi!! Once again, a perfect recipe!
Dear talented Bumbi! I contacted you about making this curry with turkey? Well I made it with bone in thighs and drumsticks, uncooked leftovers from my roast turkey crown. It worked like a dream. I followed everything you told me to do until the last 25 minute simmer stage. Instead I preheated my oven to 180c, then transferred my curry to a Dutch oven, added some boiling water and popped on the lid. I let the whole thing cook slowly for an hour. The meat fell off the bone! It was so tender and flavourful! I finished as you directed from this point. My husband loved it. Thank you xxxx
Thank You for sharing your Gift of cooking with your kind voice! Thank for encouraging your viewers to have patience with preparing their meal while we are guided by pleasant voice! I enjoy listening to You! And learning to keep Love as the base of preparing and cooking for my family 🙏🏽♥️
Hi Bumbi, your recipes are absolutely amazing! My wife and I love making your beautiful food and sharing with our family. Completely agree with other comments that your voice should be used for an audiobook! Thank you, Vicky and Si
I make this recipe (quite similar) all the time as it doesn't take much preparation/marinating time. Good tip with the yogurt. I made the mistake of adding it when the pan was too hot and it was an absolute disaster to look at. It did taste OK though. Thanks Bumbi.
This looks yum! Also, thank you for showing the size of the uncut onion in your hands for reference. My large onions tend to weigh a pound each so my recipe would have been very different! This makes a great reference. Have a great weekend 💕💕💕
This looks and sounds delicious! I would have to omit the coriander as I’m one of those who hates the taste, but that is what cooking is all about! If anything I’d replace it with parsley probably, but I don’t think that is absolutely necessary. It looks amazing regardless!
@CurriesWithBumbi The family always gives a 10 out of 10 for your curries Bumbi. I finished the leftover today ❤️ even yummierrrr after a good nights marinade
Hi Bumbi love your channel.I used to travel a lot in India in my younger days, and you have brought my love for indian food back again. A quick question: Can dairy yoghurt be substituted with soy yoghurt ?
I never used soy yogurt but you can definitely give it a try. I’ve used plain cashew nut yogurt and that makes curries equally good like using dairy yogurt. Just remember to use something with no added flavorings
Hello Bumbi! I've been following your recipes for months now and I really appreciate the variety of recipes you choose. India is a very big country with many different regions, so it's very nice to see dishes from all of them.
I just love your recipes and I could easily live at your house and eat your wonderful food everyday. Thank you for the inspiration and easy to follow dishes. Many thanks.
@beerbrewer7372 sure. Whenever you use mustard oil, please remember to allow it to come up to smoking hot on high heat. Please open your windows or vent fan. Then switch off heat or reduce heat to low, allow the temp of oil to come down considerably and then proceed with the recipe. This reduces the sharp pungency of mustard oil.
I love watching your videos and even more I love cooking your recipes just because my success is guaranteed. Another wonderful recipe! Thanks for the detailed but not boring explanations. ❤
💪😁 I will follow your technique to the dot, step by step this time. Even to the way you chop the onions and handling yogurt. I'm sure it will taste superb
I made your Jalfrezi and i will make your Korma and Kashmiri chicken masala this sunday. Your recipes are the best i have ever tried!!! Thank you Bumbi, bless you and your family!
This looks wonderful - another one to try! I have noticed that the spices you use - it's particularly apparent with the bay leaves and the ginger - look to be of very good quality, compared to the ones on most UK supermarket shelves. I've spent some time hunting down better ones, and I think it makes quite a difference.
Looks amazing as always! Can I ask what kind of pots you tend to use? Do you normally use stainless steel? This pan looks a bit different - do you use teflon too? Thank you for your great videos 👍
I use ceramic, hard anodized, stainless steel and cast iron or enameled cast iron pots and pans. I sometimes use non stick frying pans for certain recipes but they are pfoa free as mentioned on the pan.
I have tried several of your recipes and they have all been delicious! Thank you. Like most chefs who cook grew up cooking dishes by watching our parents, measuring amounts is done visually. Unfortunately, Indian food is not something I have an innate feel for yet. Your recipes are incredible Bumbi but for me hard to follow in the format you give in the description box.
I am sorry to hear that. Please tell me why you find it hard to follow? I give all the ingredient proportions in detail and have recently started including the method as well but I would like to know what I am missing out on.
I’d like to try this today! Can I substitute the masala powder with curry powder? I couldn’t find the masala in Italy. Are you cooking the chicken on a pan or a wok?
Do you mean garam masala powder? If yes, you can substitute it with curry powder for this recipe. I never buy garam masala from stores but always prefer making at home. I have 2 videos on them (link given below). I use the Bengali garam masala the most - 1. 3 MUST HAVE HOMEMADE INDIAN SPICE POWDERS | Ground Coriander Cumin & Garam Masala ua-cam.com/video/ciR43perZbU/v-deo.html 2. Good morning Bambi, been following you for 2 years now and I try pretty much each recipe you post, thanks for taking the time to share your delicious meals with us. I have been having a problem, I have tried three different brands of Kashmiri chilli powder, two of which were advertised as low heat, it's pretty clear that none of them were in fact Kashmiri chillies, none were mild to medium all were medium to fiery hot. Don't misunderstand me, I can eat and enjoy the hottest curries but when I am preparing them for others it is sad that the curry does not turn out as expected, full of colour and not too spicy. Where do you get your Kashmiri Chile, what brand do you use? By the way I followed your advice and purchased the Nutri Bullet, what a great piece of advice that was, thank you.
I buy Everest brand/Swad/ Laxmi brand. Sometimes they mix more of regular chilli powder and less of Kashmiri chilli powder as the latter is more expensive. Everest Kashmiri lal mirch powder is known for their good quality.
@CurriesWithBumbi thank you so much, I'll research your suggestions. Today I purchased dry California chilli pods, I'll deseed and grind them and see how vibrant the colour is, maybe this will work, I'll let you know. Thanks again.
@@CurriesWithBumbi As promised I am letting you know how the dry California Chillies turned out. They produced a vibrant red powder but by the time I washed the dust from the pods, de-seeded,, dried, then ground them I decided that your original suggestion of using a good quality paprika was the way to go. By the way, I tried this latest recipe, love it. Because of how little liquid is used It's a bit of a challenge to prevent it from scorching in the pan, just spent more time stirring. Thanks again Bumbi.
You’re right, if you put too much spice in, you cannot take it out! When I first embarked upon the adventures of cooking with Bumbi - I bought the wrong kind of chili powder (super hot). I followed your recipe, but ended up with an incredibly hot dish - and I like spicy! But this dish turned out so spicy hot that the raccoons said; “no thank you.” lol Have a very enjoyable weekend.
