Very nice review of the new tool and it really made the job easier and faster. Oh, and I love the view of your huge Oak tree while you work. Another great video.
Back in the eighties I had a framing company and Paslode would give me free nail guns because of how many nails I bought from them. It was a good deal for me and them.
Your demeanor and the way you present yourself seems honest, sharp, and fair. Good job! Question for you: What are the compressor requirements for this gun?
I've been running off my big 240v compressor, but no doubt my little pancake compressor would run it. I don't know the cfm requirements currently as I'm away from the tool.
Ive put probably close to 10,000 nails through this now and have been pleased with it. It's a little big and bulky, but handles anything I've thrown at it.
Lol. I didn’t know there were metal strapping nail guns. I’ve got an old gun from Harbor Freight and I just adjusted the pressure on it and used framing nails. It just shoots through the metal but you have to be careful and get the pressure just right or it will go through them or not put them in deep enough. Plus sometimes it will bump fire and you’ll shoot two nails at once whether you mean to or not. I guess you get what you pay for. 😂😂 i’m glad that works so well, you’ve got a lot of strapping to do down there, in Illinois the straps I used only take six nails. Lol
Looking good Andrew having the right tools makes the job go easier :) Crazy what you have to do with all that strapping under the FL codes and wind loads.
Strapping is for lift only and in this case there technically isn't any lift concerns because the roof is attached to the main posts buried in the ground.
@@TKCL everything you own is replaceable except you and your family... Florida got tough on the building code after Andrew.. I'm building your home to the new code will also enable you to save some money on your insurance..
This was like watching a re-enactment of my decision making process 4-5 month ago when I needed to get a MC Nail gun... My Dewalt framing nailer needed rebuilding (couldn't drive the 3.5" nails like it used to) so I was thinking of going with the bostich you bought to replace it and get an MC nail gun. Ultimately I went with a dedicated 1.5" connector gun (Dewalt DWMC150) as I seem to need to shoot these A LOT and in tights spaces where I need one hand to align the connector and a full sized nailed wont fit .. most of the connectors that require 2.5-3" fasteners are also listed to use the Simpson screws so I tend to just use SDS screws (despite being stupidly expensive if not bought in bulk) and an impact driver or where its easy just nail them by hand as they seem to be in much more convenient places to swing a hammer (like a joist hanger). After seeing this though I might just buy the Bostich so I can run 1.5" nails out of the DWMC150 and the Bostich for 2.5" MC nails and framing once the my 20yo Dewalt Framing nailer gives out (its still struggling a little post rebuild)
I loved my paslode, but anything about 3 inches it just doesn't have the power to drive, even on a fresh rebuild. The bostitch is bigger and a little more cumbersome, but it drives metal connector nails and framing up to 3 1/4 (biggest I tried) without hesitation. It's a tough gun to beat for the price and capabilities.
Nail gun is nice, but I think I'm more impressed with the scaffolding and how much easier it looks like it is for you to complete the work at height verses a limited space on the ladder.
Already sprayed it with bleach. Will wash it off later and then treat with something that will kill the spores as people have suggested. No point in doing all that until a few days before I'm going to close it up. There will be a lot more rain.
Don't forget to complete the warranty card that comes in the box and mail in. Also keep your receipt as well as make a copy because the ink used disappears with time. Home is coming along.
I can see those scaffolds are handy as a pocket on a shirt. Love any excuse to buy new tools. The place is looking fantastic. Keep sharing the details please
Question: Why don’t you wear a tool belt when working? You can load up a bunch of nail strips and a back-up hammer in case you have to tap some nails in. BTW, I have 5 Bostich nailers and a Kobalt compressor that keeps up with any framing nailer I’ve found..
That new nailer is worth it’s weight in gold, the time you are saving is priceless
Wait until you see the next videos, no way I could do this without it.
Having the right tools makes all the difference! Another awesome video!
Yes it does
Andrew you got your exercise today going up & down that scaffolding. I love watching your videos especially of the pole barn house build.
Wait until you see the next few videos, I bet I went up and down 200 times today 😩
Hi, Andrew! Your new nailer will make your work go so much faster. Very nice!
It's helping out so much!
Very nice review of the new tool and it really made the job easier and faster. Oh, and I love the view of your huge Oak tree while you work. Another great video.
That nailer got a huge workout today
Looks like a couple of wise choices in the new nailer and especially on purchasing the scaffolding. The right tool always makes the job easier. 👍
Yes they do
As we used to say, "That's as slick as a whistle." Lol.
😁
You are moving along with your house. Great job!
Slowly but surely
I love the house builds
Glad to hear that

That would be awesome
Good review. You doing a good job on your house.
Thank you

Thank you
I still can't believe have fast this house is being built..... Great job 👍 also love the bloopers 😆😆
Living in a camper for a couple of years has motivated me to get this house done 😁
Thank you for this video. I never really knew how the nailers actually work. I may never need one but at least I'll know how thanks to you!
Thank you for watching
You've made my day - I just bought this nailer and wasn't 100% sure if I made the right choice - I am now though. Impressive build you're doing there!

Yeah these crazy wind codes here have us strapping more than others.
Great video my new, at least UA-cam friend. Looking great with the build so far. Please keep us updated on the progress. Take care and God Bless.
Thank you for watching, God bless
Lol loved the end blooper.
Thanks for watching
I really like how you explain about ever part of the tool God Bless.
Thank you! God bless
Great video Andrew love the new gun
Thank you, I really like it
Looking good Andrew having the right tools makes the job go easier :) Crazy what you have to do with all that strapping under the FL codes and wind loads.
That's just scratching the surface, near the coast you strap every single stud.
You think it's crazy for him to do the extra strapping to prevent the roof from falling on top of him and his family?
Strapping is for lift only and in this case there technically isn't any lift concerns because the roof is attached to the main posts buried in the ground.

I love it

That scaffolding has been a lifesaver, I used it a bunch yesterday
Awesome video. Cool tool's. What are you going to do about the mold????

Luckily Amazon does a great job of keeping the receipts for me online.

The scaffolding has been amazing
Thank you! What size the compressor should be please?
Any standard pancake compressor should work fine, unless rapid firing.
@@TKCL Thank you!)
Good afternoon Andrew
Good afternoon
Hi Andrew!!
Hello
Question: Why don’t you wear a tool belt when working? You can load up a bunch of nail strips and a back-up hammer in case you have to tap some nails in. BTW, I have 5 Bostich nailers and a Kobalt compressor that keeps up with any framing nailer I’ve found..
I do wear it often, but find it hot and cumbersome. The scaffold has plenty of room to toss the extras on the deck.
What size compressor do you use please? I'm trying to figure out what I can get away with to run a framing nail gun without getting too heavy.
I've been running this 6 gallon compressor amzn.to/3RalsTA
Look great Andrew! Pesky Inspectors! Lol👍🏼🇱🇷
Lol, well they do keep me safe at the end of the day
Howdy from Texas! Just wondering how you killed off the mold you had shown on those studs that popped up after the storm a few videos ago?
I hit it with bleach, but will need to follow up with something else for the spores later on.
@@TKCL is that why the studs on the wall behind you in the beginning of the video are dark on the lower part??
Yes that's because they were wet, sprayed them right before starting the video.
@@TKCL mold is a pain in the butt, hope it not a constant part of your build!!!!
It will be in hot moist Florida. It's quite common for new construction walls to get it until everything is closed up and dry
Is that mold on the bottom part of those studs ??
It was, had three days of rain. The reason it looked apparent in the video was because it was just sprayed with bleach and its in the shade
Is the indexing tip replaceable? Easily and is it available locally? If not you might want to order one.
Yep easily replaced and available on Amazon when I checked
Great info!
Nice nail gun
Thanks, it's been a huge help
Saving you a lot of time.. Hugs
Yes it is
That mailer is going to save you a lot of time building your house
Yes it is
Looks like a nail in every hole is an over kill isn't? I say that because I see 3 nails in the bottom strap and then lol a box in the top ones.
Lol yeah I don't quite understand it. But inspection requires a nail to be in every hole.
and you have no cap saw from dewalt :(
What's a cap saw?
Buddy your pole barn and house is looking good text me back buddy God bless your family
Thank you Ralph
use the damn thing
Looking good but these tool/equipment reviews are making me want them with no need. Please don’t review handguns!!😃
Well we might do that on the other channel. I have a gun addiction myself
