    Hello Andrew and Tiffany! My wife and I are thinking about building a barndo, so we’re going the whole pole barn playlist, at two or three a day, and just watched this. We’re enjoying them a lot, and I just want to commend you on the audio edit at 12:15 ! It was fantastic in and out! I didn’t see anyone else mention it, so I figured I would give you some kudos!

    Andrew, you are driving this construction worker crazy. It's plumb, plumb, plumb! Haha. Level is horizontal, plumb is vertical. You are doing a fantastic job building your house.

    Great Job Andrew, Maybe where those 2 Top Plates meet on the top of the end wall with the gap you put a 4" x 6" piece of plywood sorta of like a keystone before you put the metal plate to secure them.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 роки тому +1

      That would have been a good idea.... But I've already closed it in. That gap shouldn't matter at all since the top plates are bolted to the truss.

    Also I remember the builders had a strap on that metal rafter when the put the purlens on and the sheeting. Maybe they saw the bow also.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 роки тому

      Every truss is bowed, most have been welded hot!

    Plumb is what your looking for level is horizontal, vertical is plumb. Is the roof overhang bowed like the metal rafter or is it straight from pole to pole.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 роки тому

      Yes I always get my words mixed up. Roof overhang is not bowed, they snapped a chalk line from peak to post.

    Silly comment by me: If you put the 2x4s in center location inside and frame out from that point (not hallway), would it not be less moving and carrying overall? I’m not sure but would hate a H’ a cain come by and soak you inside framing material.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 роки тому

      It would be, but I don't want all that lumber in my way since I'll be soon starting on interior walls. I'd also rather cut it on the porch once all exterior walls are up so I can easily clean up and blow all the saw dust off the porch.

  • @66bigbuds
    @66bigbuds 3 роки тому

    The steel rafters are probably true. You can use c clamps to pull the wall square.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 роки тому

      The trusses are out of shape by several inches, it's easy to see by eye.
