If I try to do things, it just wipes me out. I did notice I was very stressed about my symptoms before the fatigue came again. I'm thinking maybe that is the way for me, calm down, before I can get back into the world? What are your thoughts on this? I really appreciate all your videos, it's a difficult journey to go through.
Thank you for your videos! Just found your channel and i am grateful for you being a voice for us with long Covid. I really appreciate you communicate this hence i cant use my voice since early c19 infection in 2020 due to severe chest, lung, throat pain and diaphragm dysfunction. I also subscribed. Take care. Regards from Sweden.
Great video, Sally! I also love your look btw :-) I think taking care of yourself like that is also a huge part of recovery, but not often talked about. For instance, I used to love putting together a nice outfit when going out or going to work, but haven't had access to that kind of self-care (not the scented candle-kind obvs) for a very long time. I experience little things like putting in my earrings and piercings as a sign of being more in ventral vagal and thus recovery-mode. The autonomic nervous system work is kinda like CBT for the body, just noticing sensations, feelings and thoughts and matching them to the different vagal states. I think care for one's appearance is very much a sign of ventral vagal, so i love to see it in other long haulers as they move through their recovery :-)
Thanks Kylie that’s so kind of you to say! I definitely used my spoons throughout my illness to try and get dressed nicely - I just can’t wear joggers to work even if it’s zoom! But you can definitely see the difference in my face from when I was mostly in dorsal and now when I have full ventral again. And of course it took me hours to get ready 🤦🏻♀️ whereas now it’s much quicker!
@@sallyriggs465you are very brave Sally. I am home bound and have let myself go all natural I feel too tried and low mood to figure out my wardrobe. Loneliness/living alone is an issue too.
