  • After a day at the Mid Hants we caught the train down to East Grinstead to pay a visit to the second standard gauge preserved line to reopen, the Bluebell Railway (Not the first, the first was the Middleton Railway 3 months previously, in May 1960). Fortunately my Uncle had a smaller tripod which I borrowed for the day, and despite it being no taller than 1m at its tallest extent, it was extremely useful and meant that I think shots from this day were much better quality than those of the previous day at the Watercress Line. As with the previous day, the weather was beautiful, and the locomotives in action, despite not being typical Bluebell locos, still put on a good show. The locomotives in steam were:
    |BR 4MT 2-6-4T 80151
    |GWR 'Dukedog' 4-4-0 9017 'Earl of Berkeley)
The line was operating its service one timetable, that is, two steam locomotives, each running three return trips from Sheffield Park. The plan I did was:
    |1155 Kingscote -- Sheffield Park (80151)
    |1400 Sheffield Park -- Horsted Keynes (9017)
    |1521 Horsted Keynes -- Sheffield Park (9017)
    |1600 Sheffield Park -- Kingscote (9017)
I would like to thank the Bluebell Railway for operating their peak timetable during the week in half term, and you for taking your time to watch this video.

Superb Video, well done! :) You managed to record one of the Dukedog's last days in service before being pulled, shame that it'll be out of service for a number of years to come! :(

@funkymonkeyfound I know, on the day I was dissapointed that I was on the Dukedog because I'd been hoping for an SECR or LBSCR design, but when I found out that she was gone for a while that changed a bit :P
