ARCHIVE: Mid Hants Railway Service 2, 010611 Part 1 of 1

After spending an extended Bank Holiday Weekend on the Isle of Wight, I caught the train up to Reading to spend a few nights with my Uncle and visit some of the preserved railways accessible from there. On Wednesday 1 June we caught the train down to Alton for a day on the Mid Hants Railway, or Watercress line, as it is affectionately known. The line was running its Service 2 timetable (i.e. 2 steam locomotives, starting and finishing at opposite ends of the line and hauling 3 round trips each). Locomotives in steam were:
|SR 'LN' 4-6-0 850 'Lord Nelson'
|LMS 5MT 'Black 5' 4-6-0 45379
|BR 5MT 4-6-0 73096 (on Driver Experience duties)
If I'm honest, the day could have gone better. The weather was absolutely beautiful but unfortunately my tripod fell apart at Medstead and Four Marks station, meaning that, apart from the first few shots of the day, I had to film all shots hand held, which means the quality is not up to my usual standard. The plan I did was:
|1050 Alton -- Medstead & Four Marks (850)
|1209 Medstead & Four Marks -- Alresford (45379)
|1343 Alresford -- Ropley (850)
|1516 Ropley -- Alresford (850)
|1543 Alresford -- Alton (850)
