  • The U.S. military procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols during its service life. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985. It was widely used in World War I,[17] World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. These pistols cost about $26 back in the day. I consider it to be one of the finest firearms on earth. I am a gun collector but I do not kill things. No hunting. If I’m going to shoot an animal I’ll use a camera. I have no need to prove my manhood, just holding this bad boy and taking it to the range is all I need to boost my testosterone levels. I do not judge hunters, it’s just not my thing. I’m still learning about this firearm so excuse my ignorance.
