Here is the restoration of an old 1945 Remington Rand from ww2. This firearm was brought back from the war and sat in a Barn for decades before finally meeting me. This 1911 is horrible pitted but does function still. This is a testament to how well designed the 1911 was. Hope you enjoy the video and consider subscribing. AS always thanks for watching!

You brought the old warrior back to life! Thank You
It was our pleasure, thanks for watching!
As a Brit, this is my favourite pistol from over the pond. To see it stripped and brough back to life is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
My favorite too, thanks and thanks for watching!

It’s awesome to see another 1911 on the channel! It’s sad though was so horribly neglected by its previous owner.
Ya we love them, ya it's a shame! Thanks for watching
I cherish my Remington Rand, bought just before the ridiculous handgun freeze here north of the 49th. I hope someone will continue to cherish this one too. Great work!
I do as well, nice! Absolutely, thanks for watching
old geezer went to war and came back for more.
Yes it did! Thanks for watching
@@TheKinzlerBros Honestly the best Channel I’ve seen for restorations on these pieces of history, because you do it properly, and actually use it (after making sure it is safe for use still). Earned a sub from me.
If only that 1911 could tell the stories of the War, beautiful work guys!
Ya that would be crazy, thanks we appreciate it!
You might be glad it can't.
For those who might not know Remington Rand was a manufacturer of typewriters. One of many manufacturers who switched production of their signature products to make military equipment. Other makers of 1911 handguns were Union Switch & Signal company who were makers of railway switch equipment and the Singer sewing machine company.
Ya I knew those, thanks for letting the other watchers know and thanks for watching!
And ONLY the Remington-Rand 1911’s went “Ding” went it was out of ammo!
Singer are supposed the the best of the wartime models!
I will echo the sentiment of previous commenters by saying why some people would allow that pistol to be so neglected. But since we don’t know the previous owners situation or mindset we shouldn’t judge them too harshly. You and your extensive skill set were able to resurrect an old warhorse and give it a new life and purpose. I own a Remington from a similar time period. It’s been well taken care of by me over the 50 years I’ve had it and will continue to serve with my son. Outstanding restoration!!!!! Thanks for sharing your video with us.
Ya it was ridiculously neglected, ya I agree. Thank you very much we appreciate it! That's awesome they are great pistols! Thank you for your service and for watching!
Sure it wasnt stolen lol how did u even aquire it? Whats the story ?@@TheKinzlerBros
A true tribute to John Browning and the viability and durability of his invention. Awesome restoration and revitalization of a great weapon. Thank you for doing this.
Absolutely, thank you very much we appreciate it! Thanks for watching
She may not be as pretty as she was in 1945,but no less deadly. GREAT addition to the collection and another nicely done restoration!😊
My son has a WWII RR 1911 A1 I purchased in the early 1960's from DCM for the insane price of $21.50. In great shape except for holster wear.
That's right, still gets the job done. Yes it is, thank you very much! That is crazy, it is worth a pretty penny now!
Got to fire one these ones my elbow and forearm were sore for a week afterwards
Whoever the shooter is. I hope he’s on our side?
Old School rides again. Beautiful!
For sure, thanks for watching!
Thank you for bringing this bit of history back to life!
It was my pleasure, thanks for watching!
Another wonderful restore. The 1911 is probably the most beautiful handgun ever made with the Hi-Power right there with it.
Thank you and I couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching
Beautiful restoration, very clean cycling. You did that piece of history very well my guy
Thank you very much, yes it was humming! Thanks for watching!
I noticed as well and agree. It functions with purpose and well timed snap; not beating the action to death, but no soft slow-mo slide action from 3.5 gr of Bullseye H&G 168 softballs.
I have one of these. It was my grandfather’s service pistol I inherited after he passed…it’s in excellent condition and rust free all I had to do was replace the worn out buffer spring and it shoots ever bit as good as my modern Remington R1.
Very cool, they are well built! Thanks for watching
Awesome story, I have my great grandfathers uniforms and his Calvary saber. His 1911 was unfortunately stolen from his home years ago. Enjoy that 1911!
I'm willing to bet there's a helluva story behind this 1911.
It was found buried in a barn, very shallow I'm guessing! Thanks for watching
Another nice restoration. Too bad about the obnoxious pitting. As along as it still works and cycles properly, it is indeed a work horse, tested through time.
Love the little Kentucky Ballistics slapping of the clear ballistics gel lol!
Thanks Mark, ya it was bad! Ya it is an iconic handgun! Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
Very cool! Great job in saving this iconic classic firearm.
Thanks, it was my pleasure! Thanks for watching
So educational and interesting, Stephen.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks we appreciate it! Thanks for watching Stephen
Thank you for giving this beautiful gun a new life.
It was my pleasure, thanks for watching!
finally someone that shoots the damn thing after they restore it.
Absolutely, we always try to! Thanks for watching
Ballistic gelatin is a nice addition to the content. Great video as always
Ya we are trying different things, thanks we appreciate it!
Great job great video. Amazing no new parts needed
Thanks we appreciate it. Ya it probably could use new springs, if you were going to shoot it more. Thanks for watching
The old lady still kicking asses! Thank you for this amazing video!
Absolutely, thank you for watching we appreciate it!
Very nice work on the finish. Love the older firearms thank you for restoring it to working order.
Thank you very much, we appreciate it! Ya me too! Thanks for watching
Beautiful work, I am amazed. Thanks ❤
Thank you, thanks for watching
The 1911 is truly timeless.
Absolutely!
It reminds me if a Glock
You did a great job resurrecting the most iconic gun in American history.. great new video with good and smart content. I also do repair work. Let's see You are a great mechanic. Your workmanship is impeccable! 👍.Keep up the good work, you are truly a genius🔧😎

Well I am surprised but then again I watch all your video and know that your very talented and attention to detail is unmatched. Great video. 👍👍
Thanks you very much Diego we appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching!
“The 1911 wrench”is called a bushing tool my good sir, and I would 100% keep that. That thing is a piece of history
Yes it is, thanks and I plan on keeping it. Thanks for watching
Beautiful old war horse brought back to life only if it had been found about 60 years earlier because Remington Rands are rare,,, Another Great Restoration.
Absolutely, I know and yes they are! Thanks for watching!
Love the marks on this pistol, it showing how old he's ❤ beautiful video mate keep going ❤❤❤
Ya it gives it character for sure, thanks we appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Awesome. Save those 1941 bullets as relics too!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, absolutely! Thanks for watching!
A fine restoration of the pistol. Amazing methods you incorporated to restore it. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Always look forward to your videos and resurrection of the fire arms. 🙂👍🇺🇸
Thank you Martin! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well! Thanks for watching we appreciate it!
I had a Remington when I was in the Army back in the 80s. The last days of the .45. Loved that pistol.
Thank you for your service, ya they are great guns! Thanks for watching
@@TheKinzlerBros Thanks, dudes.
That was so satisfying to see it stripped and then the whole cleaning process, wow. Thanks
Thank you we appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Dang, great job! Seems to shoot pretty well for a pistol with a lot of the rifling gone.
Thank you very much, yes it does. I was surprised! Thanks for watching
Wow, two rounds of .45 ACP from 1941... what a prize!! Much like this channel is....
Right, thanks we appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Much easier to insert slide lock through the hole. Neat trick!
Ya when you can, thanks for watching!
Amazing to see another 1911,.. thank you 😊
Glad you enjoy them, thanks for watching!
Beautiful job I love it.
Thank you we appreciate it!
One of my favorite guns from WWII if I can ever get my hands on one I would treat it very well
Mine too, ya they are pricy! Thanks for watching
Bravo, gentlemen. Simply bravo!
Thanks Rich!
I Carried a Colt 1911 in the Army as an MP in the mid 70s. I have been hooked on 1911s ever since, and now own 9 of them. Best semi auto pistol ever made in my opinion. Great job restoring this Remington. To see one so pitted is very sad.
Thank you for your service, ya they are a beautiful iconic weapon. That's quite a collection and ya it is sad to see the pitting! Thanks for watching
Wow this is one of the most iconic guns in American history. Thanks for restoring another of americas greatest firearms. I like that you restore old firearms from any war from the past. Keep doing it. Can’t wait to see a Luger P08 I know you’re up to it soon.
Absolutely, I will restore anything! We appreciate you, thanks for watching! That would be awesome!
Great work! I’m impressed you cleaned it up from its prior condition and replaced no parts.
Thank you, ya I was surprised on how good it shot! Thanks for watching
I've watched so many of these 1911 restorations I think I could probably disassemble one myself.
Probably, thanks for watching!
What you guys do is simply amazing.
Thank you very much for the kind words! Thanks for watching
Remington Rand! Awesome restore even with the pitting, good to see it ringing the steel!! Thanks for sharing!!
Absolutely, thank you very much! Thanks for watching!
Very nice! It is good to see that old girl singing once again....😊 Did you "blue" it? The pistol looks a bit darker in the shots where you are firing it...I imagine it makes the pitting less noticeable...good job!
Thank you very much, yes it is! We hot blued everything but, the slide and frame, that got parkerized. Thanks for watching
I smiled all the way through this video. Amazing job. Thank you!
Thank you, we are glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Great job bringing that ole gal back to life. 110% satisfaction
Thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you liked it!
My great grandmother had a pot with that same style she broke out for cooking around the holidays, though she never cooked us a 1911:(. Great video as always!
Haha nice! Thanks we appreciate it!
That's got to be very satisfying work to bring a firearm back to life! Love your videos!
It is very satisfying, thank you we appreciate the support!
John Moses Browning was a genious way ahead of his times! as you proceed with restoration i had little hope this gun will work with no jams over 1 mag but ... yeah this pile of pitted rust was running reliable!
Absolutely he is, ya it worked great. Thanks for watching
@@TheKinzlerBros i like your videos becouse weapons you use actually looks legit and they demand restoration unlike most of YT videos where i can see rusted wood/plastic parts and its mostly force aged pieces
This came out decent it's a shame that it's so pitted but she shots well may have to change the barrel although you were hitting the target thank you for sharing this with us six stars brother
Ya it is but, what can you do! Thanks for watching Joseph!
Well done on your restoration of the 1911. How do you know precisely where each part goes when putting it back together? Do you have a manual of the gun that you are restoring? To refer too?
Thank you we appreciate it! I remember how it goes back together or I re-watch the tape! Thanks for watching
Another one of my dream guns !!!awesome job
Ya I want one in better condition but, this works for now! Thanks for watching
You gotcha a good one guys. Those things are built like a tank. I bought a Remington Rand 1911A1 in 1971 that had some pitting on the slide. I paid $100 for it, wish I still had it.
Ya they are awesome, that's too bad you don't still have it! They are worth quite a bit! Thanks for watching
I've been critical of some of the finishing methods you use in your restorations before, but this was very well executed. You did a fantastic job with this pistol, and I'm glad you parkerized it instead of hot-bluing. Honestly, I'm surprised the barrel was able to stabilize the bullets and provide acceptable accuracy given the pitting.
Thanks we appreciate it, ya us too, it wasn't great! Thanks for watching!
Usually 45's are pretty stable in flight, maybe where the center of mass is placed in those 230gr ball bullets? idk, but it's not the first 45 with bad rifling I see being accurate anyways.
*As always top notch, you are one of the best gun restorers out there.*
Thank you very much, that means a lot! Thanks for watching!
I’ve had several handguns and my 1911’s will be with me until I pass them to my son. So much history.
Ya they are something you hold onto for life!
Another great job. Second life for this little baby....1911 Best hand gun forever❤
Thank you, absolutely! Thanks for watching
Wow…. Your knowledge of the strip down and rebuild deserves applause! What a historic pistol to have brought back to life, I’m stunned by the recoil…! I hope you kept the 2 1941 rounds as keepsake from WW2 … great video👍🏻
Thank you for the kind words, we appreciate it! Ya we kept them. Thanks for watching!
Think of the pitting as natural radom stippling 😂😂😂
Haha right, thanks for watching!
Great work. Fun to watch a skilled craftsman such as yourself…
Thank you very much!
COOL PISTOL !!
Thanks
The Colt 1911, is by far, my favorite Platform. This video is amazing! Tremendous work! Great job!
Don Blake
🇺🇸😎👍
Mine too, thanks we appreciate you! Thanks for watching
well its a Remington, it says it all over
Wow, what a barn find!! always look forward to y'alls videos, and they haven't disappointed yet!! Much appreciation and respect for your work!! Great example of American firearms.
Yes you tell me. I can’t believe, well I can believe this happens so many firearms where made for the two huge wars and they came back after service and probly just threw there sidearm somewhere and couldn’t deal with the PTsd.
We still used those in the early 1980s when I was in the navy.
Thank you very much for your service! Ya they were and still are great handguns. Thanks for watching
While watching this I was creating a bunch of scenarios of the story behind this gun…. This is so f* cool.
Ya it's interesting to think about, thanks for watching!
How does one just leave this in a barn 😂
I don't know, someone inherited the farm found it! Thanks for watching
thanks for bringing the old girl back to life...
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Great restoration! Too bad it was forgotten about…beautiful firearm
Thank you very much, yes it is! Thanks for watching
Great job! The two tone was a very nice touch!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Loved the ballistics gel test at the end😁
In the land of so many fake resto vids out there I sure appreciate and look forward to watching your REAL restoration work.
Your vids are a pleasure to watch and I look forward to them!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you very much, we appreciate you and your kind words! Thanks for supporting the channel!
Over the last few years there are so many of these "lost" "neglected" "buried" or "long forgotten" firearms that are conveniently being found by people who make videos about restoring them. Many of these guns are in amazingly similar condition when they are "found". It's almost like someone is taking guns that were in okay condition, then aging them and rusting them just so them can make a video about restoring them. But I'm sure that never actually happens, right?
It definitely happens, we don't disrespect guns like that! Thanks for watching
It definetly happens a lot. Backyard balistics has a video on it and how to spot a fake video. It takes time to get really deep pits like in this video. And the inside being preserved is mostly up to what and how much oil/grease is in the gun.
But getting pits like this with chemicals fast would also probably eat away at the grease and then rust it pretty badly. So this video checks out as far as I can tell.
Also some are just posting their work after they are realizing there is a audience for it. And some are purposefully searching out guns like this to make videos. It does not mean they are faking the decay. Some even have deals with local police departments.
No one who loves guns would wreck a collectible on purpose
Pitting like this is hard to fake, it would be easier to have bought this gun in this condition than it wouldve been to fake it.
Right😂 , like this video with the mag spring still working with bulets in ok condition from 1940s.....
I owned a Remington Rand a long time ago. So it was equally sad but also really great to see this one come back to usefulness. The two-tone look was really nice as well.
Very cool, thanks we appreciate it! We like it too! Thanks for watching
This right here is why the 1911 is still in service somewhat. Bulletproof
Ya they are all time iconic pistols! Thanks for watching
why do people mistreat their stuff like this.... SMH
I mean he said it sat in a barn, so maybe no one knew it was there for a long time lol. Im just gonna assume the original owner passed away a while ago so
Age does weird things to one's mind. And after they pass, it sits for years. Sh*t happens. 30+ years ago, these were sitting in barrels/crates with other milsurp guns for dirt cheap. When the military switched to the M9 in the mid 80s, 1911s could be found for 50-100 bucks everywhere. People didn't know that a good condition matching A1 value would sky rocket once surplus stared to dry up. Back then, when it was safe to leave doors unlocked in rural areas, just about everybody had a cheap beater in their tool shed/barn. It was just a tool.
Ya its unfortunate, I believe it was misplaced and found by someone later on! Thanks for watching
@@baconatordoomExactly. The sales paper that came in the Sunday newspaper, the KMart sales paper always had like mil surplus firearms for sale cheap. If only hindsight was 20/20.
Some people just hate guns. Me, I hate people that hate guns.
I'm surprised someone would leave such a sweet firearm into such terrible storage condition!! Borders on sacrilegion!! Definitely not american 2nd amendment values!!
It was misplaced and found by someone else, thanks for watching
Agreed. I luckily have one in pristine condition and God willing will stay that way
I really like the two tone and honestly, I think the pitting DOES give it quite a lot of character, it says a lot: this old girl has seen a LOT, but is still here to tell the tale.
I agree, thanks for watching we appreciate it!
You always do fantastic work. I don't like the pitting at all but I guess nothing can really be done for that. It is a miracle it works after being abandoned for so long and left to rust.
Thank you very much for the kind words, ya it's a bummer! Ya it shoots well
It’s the most perfect creation and a work of Art. The 1911 pistol who has won 2 world wars atleast and to date would still win given the chance❤️
Ya it is the most iconic pistol of all time! Thanks for watching!
You should start taking a video shot of the inside of these old pitted barrels after you test fire them. Your penlight would probably fit into the breach through the discharge port and you could film from the end of the barrel. Would be neat to see what it looks like after a few rounds went through it.
That's an interesting idea, thanks and thank you for watching!
Outstanding!
Thank you very much!
This pistol really never dies
No it doesn't, thanks for watching!
WOW! You're amazing. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words, we appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Well done!!!
Thank you very much!
That's just super cool 😎
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, thanks for watching!
I acquired a Remington Rand 1911a1 several years ago. Amazing video of your restoration of this old and neglected piece of history !
Nice, they are great guns! Thanks we appreciate it!
I have a Remington 1911 my grandpa gave me. It’s one of my prized possessions. I tore it down to clean it just like this. Definitely had to research it but I got it. Mines in pristine condition.
That's awesome, they are priceless guns to the owner! Thanks for watching
Отличный пистолет в заботливых руках... а так довольно много мелких частей из-за которых могут возникнуть проблемы, в неряшливых руках, работа мастера +!)
Thank you very much, yes there are! Thanks for watching!
Хорошая работа, сделал как надо, без автомобильной шпаклёвки и покраски. Спасибо, с меня лайк.
Absolute top shelf job.👍 and I love that you fire the weapon after you restore it.
Thanks we appreciate it, we always shoot it!
Great! Nice work! 👍
Thanks!
and thats why the 1911 is the greatest pistol design ever created...
Absolutely, thanks for watching!
Love two tone too! One of best examples is Makarov.
Nice, absolutely! Thanks for watching
Awesome job love your work thanks 🙏
