- Speedrunning in any game can be a challenge to get into. From equipment to game knowledge to navigating speedrun.com, there can be a lot of barriers that can deter players from speedrunning. As a DS3 speedrunner, the amount of resources for new runners is incredibly important. Seeing videos like this for any community always makes me smile because it means there will always be new runners and eventually new records :)

My goat, I'm Korean, so it's hard to participate in speedrun, but I respect all Destiny speedruners. There are few low man gamers and speed runners in Korea. i can't saw korean speedrunners after scourge of past raid.

Great video. I’m here in 2024 looking for tips to be better in general to take my game to the next level. And I have to say some of the initial topics within the first 10 minutes are such great intangibles. I’m not expecting every lfg group to adhere to most of these but just the general sentiments of setting expectations, not wasting others time and reflecting on how to improve are such underrated concepts in the community at large. Basic life skills that many members of the community seem to lack.

@@Overlycomplicatedswede nice. If you get someone to go out of bounds and do IRB you can get like a 7 min grasp. Prophecy is just practice and throne can probably be optimized a lot but that’s nice progress

hey i have a question about dragons shadow triple rocket rortation video that you recorded 4 months ago
wouldnt it be better if you proc overflow before dps phase on your hezen and then switch on autoloading and then do the whole rotation?
it would technically allow you to shot 4 rockets

I know very little about playing on controller, and I know a lot of controller runners use wildly different layouts - I would suggest using what's most comfortable for you. You can certainly join the D2 Speedrun Panel server and ask around though!

Hey you are making amazing Videos. I just started speedrunning and I am using Lifesplit. But I wanne see the overlay ingame so I play in a window mode. But my fps take a really big hit as soon as I start the timer, is that normal or do you know any fixes?

even in the speed run discord it feels impossible to find people. unless you have someone usher you in you aren't really able to find groups. are there any ways around this?
For raids in particular, not really. The only effective way in without a friend involved is through casual API runs or befriending people you are running smaller activities with.

Hello Mr. Shield man banger video - So you did mention verification briefly in the video as well as I saw yesterday in the discord that they are looking for new verifiers. While I have very very little experience in actually running things myself, I've been interested in the speed running community for a while now and figured that this may be a good way to get involved. Do you think it would be good for me to apply since I don't know if any legitimate experience with running is needed or preferred?

You'd have to use an external timer I think

You don't need to time your run to submit, we do it for you haha it's just for your info if you time your run

I would say start slow and run stuff you enjoy with less people, then move on to bigger projects with some friends or people you've met trying to run things. discord.gg/d2speedrun has a looking-for-speeds forum you can use as well :)
@@TheAegisRelic I’ve already done trios for 4 raids but that server is what I was looking for so thanks. Are there people in there that do speeds but not go for records? Like just wanna go fast and not waste time with less experienced players or suboptimal team loadout compositions for example?

I wish I mained warlock simply for speed running movement. Or I wish titans had more speedrunning tech/glitches.
The fact titans still dont have a consistent shatter/well-like skate sucks. Yes we have bubble skate but that is not consistent at all.
However when I do play my warlock you bet your ass I am wellskating all over the place and when I am on hunter I am constantly swapping between stasis and whatever my build actually is for shatterskating. I kinda figure someday I will probably swap mains to either warlock or hunter but for now none of their available playstyles really appeals. Aside from like 2 hunter builds (assassins cowl arc build and solar young ahamarkas ability spam)

I want to make a clan that is commited to trying to learn speedrunning for this game. I speedrun lost sectors daily and love the feeling of trying to min mix the gameplay. Feel like its to hard to find people commited to that tho.
Start with the Speedrun Panel discord! There's not many sector runners but I'm sure if you're passionate you can get more people involved :)
Im just still kinda scratching my head on whether i should use burst or strafe. Strafe is clearly better when you have heat on, but thats not always. When heats not on, strafe feels terrible.
I have Heat 99% of the time so I use it on this build

Here’s an interesting way to get that speed for titan skating more quickly (ua-cam.com/video/vSQ03aJeGe4/v-deo.html) did you not mention this for a specific reason or had you not seen it yet? (I’m a D1 runner so idk as much about the speedrunning in d2, I know titan still won’t overtake warlock or hunter but does this movement tech make them any more viable?)
It hasn't really found a use in D2 runs yet, largely because Titan is kind of in the bin right now and because it requires a turn - I only wanted to include fundamentals that I think are necessary for starting with 99% of runs, which is why I didn't include groundlining, a much more relevant tech.
