It would be cool to see a video focused on solo DPS strategies like dungeons, a lot of people struggle with the massive health pools of the GOTD bosses in their solo flawless runs. Love the extra note at the end there, that you’re going for the kill not the kill in record time. Me and my Contest team aren’t the greatest but we make the point in every boss encounter that if the boss has 4 phases before the enrage wipe, then we only need enough damage to consistently do 25% health and then focus everything else into survivability. Great video as always!
Remember that if there is a weird scenario where you need to swap heavy, if you aren't using heavy outside damage, Bipod rockets have a really good ammo conversion.

Ever since I've been curious about more options and been seeing your videos and it's helped me a lot with understanding stuff (Current favourite is Izanagi + Funnelweb (I don't have Ikelos SMG) + Apex Predator when with my main raid team.) I’d love to see you make class specific videos some time in the future, I have friends and even people in LFG’s mention that they just think that compared to hunters and warlocks, titans do next to nothing for the team, so I’d love to see a video on how you think titans could fit into teams in high level content in a meaningful way
Titans are in a rough spot but I definitely think they have the easiest time surviving in extremely rough high density content with Syntho + Throwing Hammers + Sol Invictus in the most straightforward way, even if that's not a very common niche.
Although this video is really detailed and i can tell a lot of effort has gone into this, it’s not very new player friendly. Clarifying what certain exotics do, where to find the weapons mentioned in the video, or weapon names on the screen when mentioned so we can search for them separately from the video would make a world of difference in taking advice from the content. I’m curious because I hear all the time that Wilderflight is undeniably the best breach nade for damage but I see multiple people usually use an empty vessel or another nade launcher to match the surges of their rocket. Which is actually better.
I have a question that may seem stupid: so when you talk about mods and what to use, should I prioritize things like triple surges and triple time dilation before armor stat mods? Also what stats should be prioritized? On my warlock I can hit 100 in resil, recov and discipline

Defiently was taking mental notes for my day 1. But we just not gonna talk about the poor other teams in gambit that his team was absolutely steam rolling?
I've a spike, alh, frenzy wilderflight but with a blast masterwork. does blast masterwork still impact the damage of your shots? I remember that being a thing back in forsaken and have been running with that idea in my head since.
For surges, is 2 rocket + 1 kinetic for izi better since diminishing returns, or is rocket DPS that much higher (and more consistent since no precision needed) that triple surge for that 17->22 is worth it? I guess it might also depends on if you can get a special that matches the rocket (so not wilder+apex, and nothing with cold comfort, but others?) Edit: also had surge numbers off, thought the last one was 22->25. the effectively 4.3% rocket is probably more than 10% izi
Random question but what roll are you using on the ikelos shotgun in the gameplay? I’ve been using pellet shotguns lately and I’ve been enjoying them. I’m using both trench and 1,2 punch trying to mix up my special weapon usage.
Is there any particular reason why heritage uses recombination over something like focused fury? I wouldve thought the 20% buff for the bottom 8 shots (w/reconstruction) to be more value than the large buff on the single recom shot, or am I missing something here?
Recombination is favored in most instances as it does not require successive shots (damage loss) and is an immediate 100% right off the bat for short phases, use Fortissimo with FTTC/Frenzy if you want to cover for longer phases
nah but solar hunter has ahamkara's spine, which is literally just as strong as either of the solar ad nuke exotics (on titan or warlock) and works insanely well for a damage phase on any semi-close range boss. I've used ahamkara's spine in the last 4 day one raids successfully at every boss, have died roughly the least in my fireteam, and have usually outdamaged my fireteam. Since every melee or grenade kill gives me an orb and a firesprite, I have immediate health and regeneration from every kill on top of very strong ad clear without using ammo, without relying on kill procs, and without needing to be consistently close to ads other than needing to dodge occasionally for knives back.
YAS tripmines do so little damage comparatively that you lose damage by going out of your way to use them over something like RDMs If we're talking survivability Gunslinger is okay, but the two subs I mentioned are a better fit
@@TheAegisRelic tripmines do basically the same damage as a gl shot (aka what you said to use in this here video for an energy slot with izi) and on top of the knives with their damage and scorch (also pretty much the same damage as a gl shot when precision), they also cause a solar ignition (free large DOT damage). You're literally saying in the video it doesn't matter the exact damage and that it really doesn't matter so long as I'm not being a detriment to my team... "The goal is consistency and not absolute optimization" as you said. Like if you recommend I run izi gl apex, why would I not run ahamkara's spine? it's not like RDM is gonna do anything special here, nor will it help me delete beefy ads pre damage phase, and running out of izi ammo after 6 shots in a longer phase leaves a deficit in time waiting for reconstruction anyways on top of just not needing to have more than necessary loadout changes. And I already have a RDM build, or if you want to actually get into the "absolute optimization" category, then mask of bakris does more dps than either of these builds but has much worse survivability being on no ability synergy stasis. If we're talking survivability, I kill 1 ad with knives and immediately have full health with regeneration. Like yeah, invis is better, duh, though that doesn't help with ad clear. But for the highest dps subclass to also be having "okay" survivability when you can actually play it is very good. Maybe I'm just built different on solar hunter, who knows.
If Gunslinger on YAS is what you're most comfortable on I'm glad it's working out for you but it certainly wouldn't be my first recommendation to someone looking for a low barrier of entry solid damage subclass combo option. The problem with tripmines is that unlike other grenade options, YAS spends an excessive amount of time dodging and throwing knives (two actions that do almost zero damage, also sacrificing Marksman's in a rocket meta), when you could be using your abilities to positively affect rocket uptime instead. I have less problems when it comes to YAS neutral - it's certainly very easy to learn and spam - but it still doesn't hold a candle to Combination Blow Cowl (perma Resto x1 vs. perma invis + heal on kill).
Speedrunning is all I care about when it comes to stuff I actually play in this game and that doesn't depend on Bungie's content release cycle fortunately
Hey, I have a question, lets say Im a Warlock and want to Strand Swap for the DPS, why would I switch to Solar (Sunbracers) during the encounter? I wouldnt get my Strand Abilities in-time if I do so, hence why I'm confused. I guess the solution is not to Strand swap as it is a bigger lost (Solar adclear and well) than a win (better DPS)? Of course there would be other Warlocks users playing Well in my team, but you never know right? Im considering DPS optimisation especially in a Contest raid scenario (Crota's is in a few weeks!), so I cannot "just" yolo it and run Foreberance and Aeons thats it, I guess. Unless you prove me wrong!
@@TheAegisRelic We are like 3-4 Warlocks so there's overlapping issues, hence why Im allowing myself to explore other subclasses! I'll try Strand in Contest with Foreberance - Aeons and switch to Ophidians and Sojourner for DPS, but I have doubts of my survivability..
@@MeneIwen Having another well will usually still be preferable, but I'd consider arc with vesper of radius/geomag swap to be a decent option when a well's truly useless. Arc souls add a decent amount of dps and an extra damage super can't hurt when ammo starved
@@TheAegisRelic do you think it will be ok to run double special with the team set up with special fini and aeons in there? Or is it moving to 1 special now do you think? As that will kill off a lot of the damage rotations obviously
@@TheAegisRelic ok that makes sense, I was also wondering how much handling dex mods give in regards to the stat boost. They only give a duration multiplier but is there a way to know if you have reached 100 on the handling stat?
@@jagwinderkhangura8447 d2gunsmith is pretty good about that stuff with respect to guns specifically, or look up the Destiny Data Compendium if you need even more nuts-and-bolts information on things
Here’s my question, say you are in lfg teams that are averaging 1 million less damage per phase than you are, but you lack the ability to do so and do stuff like buff and debuff, what do you do in this scenario? Surely there is a breakoff for where you do so much more than your team that you are outpacing the need for a debuff because they can’t use it properly anyways
Special finisher is not going anywhere and you still want double special loadout for damage. Worst case scenario put on cenotaph and aeons for heavy generation.

Random question but what roll are you using on the ikelos shotgun in the gameplay? I’ve been using pellet shotguns lately and I’ve been enjoying them. I’m using both trench and 1,2 punch trying to mix up my special weapon usage.
Grave/Surrounded, it's not the best roll for Gambit I think but I have it because of speedrunning RoN
What are some good pellets shotguns you can still get. I have about every thing else talked about except pellets shotguns
Check the Equipment tab from the spreadsheet, stuff like Riiswalker, Without Remorse, Xenoclast, etc.
Omg my favorite creator!
Does a vorpal Cartesian still have a place or is a controlled burst loaded question better?

How to do the most chunking to bosses health? What weapons? and what is the strat for it. Thanks.
Basically just spam rockets lol
@@TheAegisRelic easy, thanks :)
@@TheAegisRelic Okay that makes sense, thanks!
Did something happen to the FILO energy slug? Can't figure out why it's not on the Boss damage spreadsheet
No longer obtainable
@@TheAegisRelic is it good tho 😢
What would you recommend for weapons and strategy for ghost of the deep's
Check my raid and dungeon boss DPS video
nah but solar hunter has ahamkara's spine, which is literally just as strong as either of the solar ad nuke exotics (on titan or warlock) and works insanely well for a damage phase on any semi-close range boss.
YAS tripmines do so little damage comparatively that you lose damage by going out of your way to use them over something like RDMs
If we're talking survivability Gunslinger is okay, but the two subs I mentioned are a better fit
Woah Yeah Baby! Let’s go
Oh my goodness gracious
aegis I gotta know; what do you do when d2 runs short on content, like rn? how do you keep so active
I wouldn't be on Broodweaver on day 1 personally, but if you have 2 other Wells, go for it :P stay on it the whole encounter
What should people use in the absence of wilderflight?
Empty Vessel is a more easily farmable, acceptable alternative
since u mentioned supremacy with kt and fttc, is kt better than bait and switch then?
Rewind and KT, but yes, it is
@@TheAegisRelic oh my bad, thank you 🫂
Is kinetic tremors better than bns on supremacy? Saw it in the vid but not sure since I’ve never heard it mentioned before.
Yeah check spreadsheet FAQ
Does this still apply now with the change to double special? are we still running double specials for dps etc?
Yeah it does ammo management is just a bigger concern
@@TheAegisRelic do you think it will be ok to run double special with the team set up with special fini and aeons in there? Or is it moving to 1 special now do you think? As that will kill off a lot of the damage rotations obviously
Yeah with finishers it's free
From a damage standpoint, are striker enhanced storm nades still stronger than pulse nades?
About the same but pulses are more consistent long term
@@TheAegisRelic ok that makes sense, I was also wondering how much handling dex mods give in regards to the stat boost. They only give a duration multiplier but is there a way to know if you have reached 100 on the handling stat?

Aegis, with coming nerfs, hiw will DPS change?
Not at all
When i LFG i always ask before dps
"Rockets or div"
We will then agree who takes tractor and who takes gally
Yeah for real the easiest way to avoid conflict is just being assertive and asking who wants to Tractor + Gjally and then going from there
YAYAYAYAYAAAYAAAYYA AEGIS BABY LETS GO
Here’s my question, say you are in lfg teams that are averaging 1 million less damage per phase than you are, but you lack the ability to do so and do stuff like buff and debuff, what do you do in this scenario? Surely there is a breakoff for where you do so much more than your team that you are outpacing the need for a debuff because they can’t use it properly anyways
You communicate to them, that's what a lot of people are missing, you don't have to go it alone and they're better off if you tell them what's missing
Will Double special still be that viable after the nerf next season?
Special finisher is not going anywhere and you still want double special loadout for damage. Worst case scenario put on cenotaph and aeons for heavy generation.
Great video; definitely earned a sub from me!
you should do actual build videos for the classes in raids
For example:warlock speed run builds etc
