A few corrections/clarifications: - I recorded and wrote this video a few days ago, and the infinite finisher loop has in fact been patched, but Special Finisher still remains a strong option, as mentioned in the video. - Yes, ammo is automatically picked up from anywhere in the instance after a given amount of time. If you're observant and fortunate, you'll literally see bricks disappear off the ground as they get added to your inventory. (often all three slots at the same time, which never happens with pity ammo) - Militia's was technically the first kinetic blinding GL, so I should've clarified with non-sunset :P
@@TheAegisRelic btw chill clip riptide can easily take out barrier champions since the freeze stops them from casting their barricade so a riptide is pretty much all you need to kill champions
Should probably also clarify that it isn't mastering anything and is instead gaming journalism tracking the growth over time of the build. Not bad journalism, but for people looking for assistance this isn't helpful
If there's any Primary worth using, it's Wish-Ender. It does massive single-shot damage for a primary, has intrinsic Anti-Barrier, and it now absolutely shreds shields even on Master. It's a slower yet infinite Arbalest, and it carried me through Rank 7 and 8 before the Guardian Rank changes came through.

I've struggled to explain to people exactly why running double special is so incredibly fun and powerful. I'll be sharing this video for sure, so well done
One of my most prominent builds this season has been avoid Hunter with Gyrofalcon, Succession, Vexcalibur, and Retrofit Escapade. It’s a crazy fun build to run in the higher tier content. And you’re almost always invisible with a massive overshield, and 0 ammo problems. Especially thanks to Vexcalibur having access to the melee damage.
this video is actually so well written and edited, and put together in general. this was my first video of yours I've seen so when I checked your sub count i was shocked. if you can keep pumping out stuff like this i could see you being a really big part of the destiny youtube community
Even as an active player this is very informal! Thank you for putting this out in the community. A lot of new and casual players will find this perfect for advancing their builds as well as playstyle.
I've never used double special before but I think I'm gonna try it. So far what I'm thinking is my typical contraverse hold build but with witherhoard, hollow denial (with lead for gold and repulsor brace), and not sure about heavy but probably a rocket launcher. The starfire build seems awesome too. Great video man!
One you might’ve passed over are machine guns. They pair super well with double special, and are great for ad clear and deal decent damage to champions. I practically used one as a primary during day one RoN and trivialized the first two encounters. Also on a side tangent, a lot of players who are complaining about the difficulty changes either don’t know about build crafting or are scared to try double special. It’s not hard to grasp and makes endgame pve feel a lot easier
First off, wonderful video. Videos of this quality are hard to come by. One thing I've always wondered about double special is the details of how the ammo finder/scout mods work, as well as what the most effective way to utilize then is.
Typically you shouldn't even need finders or scouts if playing in a more solo/fast environment, but on Day 1 without Aeons you may want to run Heavy Finder/Scout to share with your teammates. Otherwise, running the loadout and being efficient on its own is enough to supply you with enough ammo to keep going even in longer activities.
For someone who currently at the time of me writing this doesn't have a gigantic following, you have some incredible content. This video was edited supremely well I hope you're proud of yourself. I started using double special this season with Riptide and Wavesplitter on a void Titan. Really enjoying it. The ammo is a bit of a learning curve but there’s almost an art to it when you get it down.
This video is honestly very very good and all spot on. Double specials allow us to be more aggressive AND are simply more fun. Also for Gjallarhorn, I'm biased. I dodnt have it in D1 but now that I have it in D2, I simply refuse to take it off. It's so good and I love it

This season especially, I would recommend forerunner over izi or arbalest in the kinetic slot. With dps roughly right in the middle of arb and izi, and noticably higher total damage per my own testing, as well as anti-barrier sidearm this season, it seems like a very solid choice for double special, at least on paper

Pretty good vid! Been using double specials since I've started solo flawlessing dungeons and the like and it works grest especially now.
I also think the only primaries worth using really comes down to the Ikelos smg with voltshot and I've cometo enjoy Rufus Fury from the new raid too but besides those 2 it's double special for me
Wow, oh my god this video was amazing. I’m a new player and there is so much o have to learn. Thanks for sharing and for this incredible clear explanation.
8:55 Stuff like felwinters helm also does wonders in this situation on void w/ the new void fragments.
I've been running double special since season of arrivals starting with ruinous effigy and haven't looked back (although effigy isn't as good as it used to be). Also what you said about switching to a primary and feeling super weak hits so close to home.
This was extremely well put together. Subbed, liked, cant wait to watch more.
Fantastic summary and insight! Would love to see specific build videos from you! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Aegis!
My man wrote us a whole book report. A+
awesome video, very well laid out and amazing quality!
Amazing! Such a thorough and well made guide. Looking forward to future videos!
I wasn’t even aware that double special was a viable option. I’ll have to try it out for sure
