The rod look amazing, but Kudos to the caster, the reel, and the line too. I used the Korda long chuck for a few months and it adds yards and yards and yards to your cast.
Mega cast 200yds pal when u look at the quality and the performance of materials in rods nowadays for not a huge amount of money its really incredible im in my 50s and can remember the awfull rods when i was a teenager and when carbon became available to us it was out of my price range for a lot of years now companies produce incredible equipment that is affortable to all you have just proved to people u dont need to go out and spend 500quid for a rod to fish distance top demo pal cheers and have a happy and healthy 2023
Great review and brilliant casting.🎣 Being a short arse with correspondingly short arms, if you get a chance anytime I’d be interested in knowing the handle length from say bottom of handle to middle of reel seat or wherever the reel stem would be? Unfortunately no local shops have them so can’t see in the flesh. Love the channel by the way 👍
Hi Jon, have you used the 13ft amplify spod rod yet? I am in the market for a 13ft spod rod and would love to see a video of one being cast with a medium spomb to see what kind of distances are achievable. Thanks for posting this video...that 200 yard chuck was amazing and not wind assisted... nice one!
Hiya Kevin I have just spooled up with new braid so I will retry and get out ASAP and give it a cast.. I have a medium wolf competition that's is almost the same size as a medium spomb..
@@CHUNKSTV Thanks Jon, really appreciate your reply. I could not resist totalfishingtackle had the 13ft spod on offer today for £79 and with an excess of £3 due to the length at £82 I think its a massive bargain. I'm thinking about having a go in Croatia, and on this lake most people are fishing to an island at around 160 yards. I did think about a Free Spirit Hi s 13ft spod but can't stretch to £460. Thanks again for the reply, cheers, Kevin
Do it on a flat field that’s how to test casting. To many people casting on high ground and casting high in the air and hitting the clip on the way down
Kent Email @Dbfisheries the website and email is in the description of my vblogs from the Bowl.. all the best hope to see you on the banks down there 👍
Tom there two different rods.. the spomb rod is good for large spombs only as its a very stiff rod and requires larger heavy spombs to compress.. where the avid spod/mark is good for nash dotspod or wolf competition I was using mine @130 yards yesterday with no issue at all
Theres some debate over whether you gain more distance with a 13ft over a 12ft, what are your thoughts having used both bud?. Great video as always pal 👍
No doubt in my opinion that 13ft rods cast farther than 12ft Rods and in all honesty everyone I know who is putting Riga out at distance also fish 13ft rods I'm sure we can debate everything these days but there is a reason everyone uses bigger rods ✌️👍

Surely just giving your best shot then wrapping that up to get distance would be better than just hitting the Clip?
It would do but I want me lead back as the lake isn't much bigger than 200 yards
Hi mate. Do you test new avid elevate rod? Is it better than amplify?
I'm not sure without testing them I honestly can't say 🤷 sorry
Thwackkk...that is some cast.what weight lead was that Jon..
Thanks Sally 💪🏻
Hi Jon,
Would you recommend the 13ft Amplify rods as an all around casting rod over the TX4? Also what size lead was you using please? Thanks.
If you hold fire I will show you another alternative from freespirit

Care to explain why your so confident I will not 🤣
Awesome job Jon, thinking if looking into joining the bowl next year who’s the best to talk to cheers have happy new year all the best Kent

@@CHUNKSTV nice one Jon definitely hope so you can show me the areas cheers mate all the best , hope ye get some chunks in the new year
Very interesting jon, If I ever fancy an upgrade I'll deffo consider these. Fantastic performance for that price range.
Bang for bucks pal 👍 👌
Hi just wondering if you've managed to try the 13ft spod rod yet? With the current price for it I'm seriously considering it versus a spomb LR. Cheers

@@CHUNKSTV thanks I've been toying with this the spomb LR or now the Shimano tx extreme
What diameter line u got on John
It's Korda long chuck tapered line in 12-30lb line
One part of my fishing I need to improve on. Some chuck that mate.
Practice and lots of crack offs and a few ohh f@cks 😅 years later 200 club 😊 Happy New year Daz
Wow nice with a baited rig would be different but great video thanks
Absolutely however I plan to do 200yards with a rig.. I'm 176yards on my old rods so hopefully this year I will try and achieve that
what reels are you using with the rods tosh
Diawa emblem 45 qd scw 👍

Thanks Brother ✌️ see you on the other side in 2023
Nice vid mate, do you know what these rods weigh?
I can check but there pretty light due to the guides being lightened
@@CHUNKSTV thanks, I was looking to buy some used tx4 but I will get these brand new
Bish bash top casting tosh 🎣👊
Thanks dude appreciated 🙏
Some chuck that Jon fella
Thanks 😊 Karl and all the best for 2023 🍻
@@CHUNKSTV 👊💥
Great work mate you make that look easy! I think you could easily smash it with a rig!
Now that would be something special definitely going to have a go when I get used to the feel of the rods 👍
