    nice one tosh the dot spod has been bought thanks to your review, i max’d it out at 40 x 15mm boilies but casts better with 30 or so in, like you said. retrieved a dream, opened everytime and fills easy. the old impact spod will be gettin burnt. hate it for loads of reasons yet waited patiently for its release. thats why videos like this are GREAT because if id of watched it first, like many will be, or heard of the problems with the impact spod prior to buying i wudnt feel conned by fox out of over £30 on impact spods and nearly faced an assault charge when my impact spod flew off the vane and nearly took out the opposite angler

    I got the dot spod , great in flight , a little fiddly filling with a porridge and boilie , sweetcorn hemp based spod mix which is really thick as the porridge is quite stodgy.

    Iv used the Fox as I got 3 of them and on all of them the arms that hold the nose cup bend out after just 8-10 times and it won’t lock so you keep bending them back in and after 5-6 sessions it’s good for the bin as it takes too long messing around with it opening up on the bank or in mid air

    I think you have completely missed the point in how the TFGear Airbomb works surely it is where the bait lands, if used and set up correctly which you didn’t do ! your bait would have hit the distance of the other devices and you would not have the disturbance on the baited area, !!!! I’m by no means a big caster and I’m hitting well over 100yds putting my bait 110-115yds. Before you call a product CRAP you should really learn how to use it correctly !

      I will await the video no editing just show wraps and doing what you doing ? Put it on my Facebook? I could probley hit it with low diameter whiplash but the point was all the others could hit it only the try couldn't.. so I will await the results..

      @@CHUNKSTV Well, besides that, the Airbomb can be closed with only one hand on it and one hand on the rod ;)....But then that.
      The other fair thing is to be said, that it must hit your reel clip in the air, and then it i will deploy.....You don't do that, you're going to bring it back closed if you reel it in slowly ;)
      I'm bumping it with a feeder rod at 150 yards when I go after big carp....I think you could whack it with a spod rod at more than 200-250 meters without even batting an eyelash.

    Hay mate I am ok at casting long range with both my fishing rods and spod rod, upto about 160 yards is comfortable fishing for me. Now with the TFG air bomb I cut the leader down to try and cut down on air resistance and was still having problems hitting the clip at 120 yards.

    I asked Mark Pitchers the other day about whether there is some kind of trick to getting the Fox spomb to retrieve better and he said to point the rod at it rather than having the tip up, I've not had a chance to test it yet but will let you know if it helps. The dotspod does look good though and well done for Nash for taking on Spombs legal team, they've been stifling the market for years

    Alright John.... good video, just a point on the t.v. gear airbomb.... according to t.v. gear you have to set your line clip 2 rod lengths shorter than where you are fishing as the bait is released in mid-air and continues to travel forward before entering the water.... hist a thought ....

    A great review, not tried the Dot Spod yet but have to agree the TFG one is crap, even at short range I have only got it to open 1 out of 10 casts. Sent them a message but was told to watch video which I already had done. I tried full, half full, just a few and still couldn't get it to open, this was banging the clip as well.

    I have Original spomb, Fox impact spomb and the Airbomb. Original spom i had problems with not opening all the time and i dont like the idea of having to load it with 2 hands so you dont get small bits in the open clip area. Fox impact spomb. Flies out well but like the Original spomb i have problems with it not opening every time. Now the Airbomb. Had few probs at first. the first thing i did was to shorten the leader by half. This totalt transformed the way it worked. opens when i want it to. I cannot wait for the smaller version to come out. I cannot speak about the dot spomb as never had one.

    personal opinion, fox impact is worthless if you are using oily spod mix, starts opening midair, just because the holding clip is too small and after getting oiled it doesn't hold the lid anymore, had 6 pieces, bought at different time (2 of those broke, those were let's call 1st. eddition), the other 4 had all the same opening in midair issue. what goes to the retrieve, just try keeping your rod low, while reeling in, you will be surprised ;) original spomb is still the best, but this year i am going to try the new "spider spod"

  • @vipernight2

    great review i think the tf gear has to be clipped up short of the spot to allow the bait to be thrown the rest of the way

      yeah i would say it was a fair review on distance but you did say you gave it what you could maybe thats your max distance with that one but for baiting maybe go bk and review at a later date but clipping short so it works how it was meant to maybe just a fort no hate btw just love and respect on the review

    if you want to bait up to 100yards with the TFG Airbomb you do not need to cast it 110 yards, the benefit i see from this is if your baiting it 10 yards short of you rig casting....you can cast a rig to 90 yards, so with the TFG Airbomb you wrap up 10 yards shorter (Not further as you stated) and get the extra 10 yards out of you spomb......I have not used one personally but i can see how i would implement it into baiting

    • @CHUNKSTV

    You were using the air bomb incorrectly if you couldn’t hit 100yds you should clip it up shorter depending on the bait your using cause heavier bait like boilies will fly further so you can clip up shorter.

    Great review. Anything nash has a short working life. Used a spomb for years now. Never had any issues. The fox impact spod is simply a reboot of the spomb. Tf gear is a no no for me.as its trying to replace the throwing stick or catapult. Theres always the pva option. Which is more accurate than the lot of them.

      But the point of it is that you don't have a spod crashing in on your spot so to fish it at 100 yards you clip up closer ie 85 to 90 yards not at 110 yards like you said in the video. Think your missing the point of it, not saying it's good or crap but your trying to use it the same way as the other 3 and its not designed that way. Good review on the other 3 products thou.

    Nice video but your review is flawed simply because the fox and spomb are tried and tested whereas by your own admission the nash felt cheap material wise i will hazzard a guess that 6 to 12 months from now it may be a diffrent matter and one final point nash did not produce it they are repackaging it for the uk market and also it is the most expensive of the original spomb styles more nash over priced tackle im affraid but thanks great video and and review and your honest opinion

    Before I write I have to say I have no connection with TFG whatsoever and paid for my TFG Air Bomb as I had a job for one spraying bait and not crashing a bait dispenser in near my hook baits. You didn't explain to the viewer that the TFG Air Bomb needs to be clipped up at a shorter range to that which you are fishing. It works perfectly well giving a very different baiting pattern without the possible fish spooking crash near your rigs. It is designed to be stopped mid air and once the door is opened the momentum then fires your free bait further and in a nice spread whilst the Air Bomb drops short and silent as it's empty away from your fishing zone. Had you clipped it shorter then your bait would have reached your spot.
    A very unfair review in my opinion as you didn't use it the way it has been designed to be used. They are brilliant for a spread of bait and for firing bait under overhangs with no fear of your baiting vessel getting stuck.
    Myself I have been a Spomb user since day one and love them, but there are times when it can pay to have a different baiting pattern rather than just piles of bait.

      How is it unfair when all the others are clipped upto the exact spot the airbomb couldnt hit it due to its shit design and leader trailing behind the bomb..

    • @ObligateFailure
      @ObligateFailure 6 років тому +3

      Jon Tosh Perhaps unfair is the wrong word. It clearly does not cast as far as the others. However, it looks like if you clipped it 2 wraps shorter it would have hit the clip in the air and dispensed the bait as it should. I've yet to have a play with one so can't say more than this speculation... it does look like it has its uses, but at shorter range than the others.

      @1kshooterJL 6 років тому +2

      it couldn't hit the clip....or you couldn't? ....I liked the review as well but having the TFG is like has been mentioned above just another very useful tool in the arsenal when used properly and within your limits

      Isnt the whole idea behind the TFG "Air Bomb" to deliver bait without all the disturbance? I believe that is exactly what they advertise. I think it best to leave it to personal choice and preference, and not refer to one or the other as a piece of crap. Some folks buy Mercedes and live at the repair shop, whilst others drive 100k miles and never have an issue.

      Richard what ever you say its still a bad designed piece of crap and welcome to the honest world of youtube ! where real anglers have real opinions !!

    Proper unfair test. Some of them you’re filling it up balancing the boillies inside and others you’re doing a “comfortable” fit

    Firstly the big white one is called a spomb not a spod it's really irritating to have someone try give a review on something when they can't even reiterate what it is their trying to tell you to use!
    The airbomb I think you need to learn how to read as if your fishing at 100 yards you need to be hitting the clip mid air at 90 yards but being as you failed at hitting the clip at what looked like 80 yards on all different spombs and spots then your pretty much pissing in the wind (as was your line with the bow it had in it) with something that requires a rod to be compressed on the cast!
    How long did it take to close the dot spod as there was a few attempts to close it which for me says it's shit as its too sensitive and will be as reliable as an old Skoda, this is by far the single most useless review video I've ever endured. This comes from someone who still uses an actual spod and sometimes a spomb in strong winds

    • @CHUNKSTV
      @CHUNKSTV  6 років тому +2

      Firstly yes I did say spod but when you video yourself and have a few hours to so it in and no film crew to relay it back it's probably one of the most difficult things to do so as when I got home I noticed the mistake.. i never claimed to be professional it is what it is.. secondly I was clipped upto 100yards on all four baiting tool why would I give the airbomb a easy ride at 90yards.. I'm casting and baiting week in week out at over hundred yards do need to make fake claims about distance.. no excuses TFG is a big pile of turd 💩💩
      You have your opinion about the dotspod and I have mine but I found it on the day to be fantastic 😎
      As for the review is useless I have to disagee as most think otherwise.. I big you good day.. #bishbashboshkeepittosh 😎😎

    If you are fishing at 100 yards you need to clip the tfg airbomb at 85-90 so you bait ends up at 100 yards with it clipped up at 100 yards you will be baiting up at 110-115 yards you need to learn how to use products before reviewing you seemed to understand the concept but couldn’t use it to its full potential

    • @CHUNKSTV
      @CHUNKSTV  5 років тому

      Couldn't even hit 90 yards.. the product is shit and most anglers I have spoken to agree..
