Thanks. I'll be having a new patio poured in 2 weeks. I think I'll get the 20' version. I feel like I could do this with a little help. I'm fairly handy. 63 yr old nurse. I thought about maybe applying a fan of clear silicon under the roof screws before tightening them down. Love to hear your perspective. Thanks son
I got the 12x20 delivered today. We have some rain but I plan to start in the next few days. I’m pretty mechanically inclined as well but I like to have an idea ahead of time what I’m in for. Plus you always learn things that make it easier so I figured this would be helpful. I was correct you did a great job showing and explaining everything. Makes me excited to start mine! ❤️
Great to hear, good luck and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the walk-through and tips, Jeremiah! My husband and I put our 11x14 Gazebo together in about 10 hours because of your help. All of our parts were in good shape except for a broken grommet on a curtain and customer service was super quick to respond, and very helpful. Now to see if it will make it through a winter with our solar panels dumping icy snow on it... that would be a miracle. Thanks again!!
Glad to help and nice to see that customer service was quick to reply. I’m sitting under mine as I reply to this comment lol.
This video is so great detailed and thorough thank you for filming it. All the angles and review points are appreciated
Thanks for this video!!!!! You have saved me from the mistakes I could have made! I rewind and forward fast so many times I lost count 😂. Thank you again!
Great video thanks! Ever thought about just plugging the hole closest to the house and see if it drains well enough out the other three?
I’ve got boxes in my garage waiting to go up and I think I’m gonna try that.
Thank you for making this video, it was a tremendous help! My wife, three grandkids (8,9 & 10yrs of age) and I put it together this weekend, it took us 16 hours. I agree, only hand tighten, enough to hold in place and once done tighten all, especially the roof frame! The Z, Z1, Z2 parts could use some adhesive to hold them in place as they fall off very easily and makes you say things you shouldn't (lol). There were some parts that were slightly bent but the material is workable and easy to fix. Suggestion to all, once it arrives open a box to make sure you got the right color, I let mine sit for contractors that kept cancelling, 40 days later I opened it and it was the wrong color, could not wait any longer so I installed as is. Kudos to Purple Leaf for making easy to follow instructions!
Added a tv using ZeboZAP and life outdoor has changed
This video was great! Thanks so much for making this. I've been researching for months and had a few questions about the gazebo... how big the boxes were, how the gutters really worked in the rain, how much water gets inside from the sides. I was heavily considering putting it close to my house and wondered about the water from the roof. But I didn't consider the splashing from the roof. You showed and answered all of my outstanding questions. You literally covered everything. I think this is the gazebo for me. Thanks again!
Purple Leaf he did great and just got you a new customer. Send this man a bonus and more lights to finish the other side 🙂
Lol thanks so much. If you decide to order one please use the link in the video description to help support the channel! It doesn’t have to be the exact one in the link if you decide to get a different size!
Oh yea I agree the 50’ lights would have been better lol. Thanks again!
Thank you so very much for this detailed video. Very helpful information. I plan on assembling mine this month 12x 20. I hope it goes as smoothly as your seemed to go!
Great video. I have 6 boxes lying down on our patio. Because of your video I will build this by myself. Thank you
Thank you for the video. We live in the gazebo all day now and love it. We mounted a tv without drilling into the post using the ZeboZAP gazebo tV mount and its awesome.
Very easy to understand and informative. Might have to replay while constructing to save frustration. Thanks
Great video and easily explained. I will do tomorrow. Lots of helpful information. Thanks 🙏 for all
Great video, thank you for taking the time to make it!
Thanks so much for sharing this. I just got my 12' x 16'. Hope going well.
Great video, well done, good tips ! I don't have this model but same basic style so your installation steps were very helpful, Thanks
Thank you! Glad it was helpful for you Joe!
Just finished my 12 × 20 pretty easy no damages and EVERYTHING was labeled so glad i didn't pay to get it built, thanks to Jeremiah for the video and the tips!!!
Hello, i have a question please. How many boxes came with your order ? We on received 5 for our 12 x 20
@simonahumphries4540 7 boxes for the 12 x20 we received 3 the first day from fed ex and 4 the second day ,all of them should come numbered
@simonahumphries4540 two boxes will be panels only the other 5 posts and frame and hardware
Fucking communist utube deleting my comments
good stuff thanks for the tips. just order a 12x12. I like to grill outside too and this will allow me to grill in poopy weather now. rock on!
Nice spot to chill.
Look, Jeremiah! You might think you know what you’re talking about. But you DO!! Why didn’t I watch your video BEFORE assembly???! I ended up paying 3 guys $600 to help me assemble it. The roof support bracket assembly is BY FAR the toughest assembly! Everything else is GRAVY. Thank you for your AWESOME VIDEOS.
Very good and helpful video..
Excellent video, thank you very much!
Thanks! Your welcome!
Great video bro!
Thank you!
Great job
Thank you!
❤❤❤ love this. Add a ZeboZAP gazebo tv mount. 🎉 mounted a tv in minutes:
Love the ZeboZAP
Thanks for your help
very nice your video tomorrow I will do mine , 14x 20 your video going to help a lot.
This is very helpful!! We just purchased a 12x20 and will be following your video to guide us! Thanks for sharing!!
Good job bro 👍
Thank you!
great video thank you very much.
Thank you Kathy! Your welcome!
was leaning towards one of these you convinced me this is what i need for my patio..... would love to see how you bolted it down.
I used tapcons to screw it down to the concrete and haven’t had any problems but concrete anchors would have been better to use.
Can you use either of those to secure it on pavers?
How would you recommend anchors these to a paver pool patio? Tapcons/wedge anchors or do I have to make concrete footings ?
Thanks for the video, it has been helpful. I'm about to finish mine off today. A concern i have is about the gutters. The one i have doesn't have the little drain holes but they drain right into the hollow columns. Mine is under trees which drop all kinds of tiny berries and little leaves. It will get clogged quickly. I'm thinking of putting some sort of mesh filter to prevent that. Has anybody had this issue and what did you do if so?
Thanks for the tips! Going to start assembling mine tomorrow. I see yours sits on top of a concrete patio but you recommended securing it to help with the wind. What did you do?
Good job
Thank you!
Is there a screen at the top where the two tears roof meet to keep the bugs out?
Fantastic! Ours just arrived (same model and dimensions )and we just got done staging all of the various parts and will be getting ready to assemble it. We are going to take our time and not worry about being done quickly. The only thing I have to figure out is how to drill the holes on our concrete patio for the mounting anchors.
You will definitely need to use a hammer drill and masonry bit to drill the holes. I might use tapcons to mount mine but wedge anchors would be better.
I just got mine and we have not unboxed it yet. I need to get city approval. How many anchor holes are at the bottom of each leg?
@user-oe8jg4wi4c there are 3 holes in each leg.
Thank you for the video. Made my decision to purchase a Purple Leaf. Thought they were all the same BUT it seems Purple Leaf is a bit beefier and no cross pieces up in the rafters. I'm looking at the 14x20 so it might be different. What size allen wrenches did you need? The link you provided came to a set with standard and metric and I'm guessing way more than needed? Thanks!
Great video! Liked it alot for its simple instructions and great visual. Probably in real-life as you are assembling it yourself, it might be complicated, but in all, i can see myself building it. Thanks
hard to assemble we have a 8x8 way to go looks great and should i put silicone for the screws we have the stoppers but i dont kow we messed up a screw and now we need to do something
It wouldn’t hurt
I put mine up yesterday. What length of Tapcon screws do you recommend? Also you don't mention to screws the roof panels down as you proceed with the assembly; I found this really helps. Also those little sliders that we put onto the roof panels are a real pain to keep on. Any change with them would be good. Thanks for the video as is really prepared me for construction. God Bless.
I just purchased this same Gazebo that I plan to build over a hottub. Do you think it's strong enough to support a ceiling fan in the middle?
Awesome. Good product, and good installation instructions in this video. Couple questions - We live in Michigan and have good amount of snow. Will this roof hold up against snow ? And what about ice storms? Will this withstand ice buildup? Thanks for putting up this awesome video.
It’s rated for a 2500lb snow load but I haven’t had it throughout the winter yet so can’t confirm. If it were in a hail storm it would probably get dinged up because the roof metal is not very thick.
Just built this same exact gazebo over the weekend, and just watched this video. Unfortunately I installed the clips for the roof panels upside down ☹. I wish I would have seen this video beforehand. I hope it’s not a big deal, because everything installed okay. If not, I have some work to do 😭. Good video by the way.
Thanks Jeremiah very helpful video. Subscribed. I'm thinking of installing one of these on my existing wood deck as it was originally built as a pergola. My area is also in the sun most of the day. Does the metal roof radiate heat down or does it deflect for a cooler area underneath.
It does get pretty hot up in the peak but not really to bad underneath. Definitely better that the sun beating on you!
Great video! I ordered the 12' x 16' Gazebo. Unfortunately, the assembly manual was missing in my shipment when it arrived. Does anyone know where I can find a manual with the instructions? I cannot find it on the internet for that particular size Gazebo. Also, contacted customer service but no answer.
What did you use to bolt down to the concrete?
You put out a excellent video for that I thank you.! We just finished assembly on our 12x16 PL Gazebo & your correct it is Beautiful, We enjoy everything well almost Everything about it. 1 thing u didn’t go thru in video is the 1 thing I need info on. CURTAINS!! Ugh the curtains (not netting, that works) will Not stay on Track for us & they also pull little hook that secure them to Metal Posts All 4 come out with slightest tug, like closing to zipper. Do you have any suggestions that may keep curtains from falling off ? I’d do appreciate your reply.. Thanks again
I haven’t had any problems with my curtains coming off so I’m not really sure what the problem would be.
Great video. My husband is struggling a bit getting the lower roof panels in place being up that high. Patience, which he is lacking, but we're getting there slowly. Wondering how you get the upper screws in in the middle of panels. Nice Steeler umbrella.!!!
I just finished mine today, a 6 foot ladder and stand so you can reach your arm over the top, and your other arm under to hold the rubber block in the channel worked for me.
Is there space on the top where the gutter system is for birds to create nests? We have a huge problem with birds by our deck, and I'm trying to find something they can't do that with.
What size impact wrench would I need??
Great video! What do you plan on using to anchor the Gazebo down with?
I’m going to use tapcons to anchor mine down to the concrete
Thanks for the video! We are halfway thru and the roof is a pita. What did you use to anchor it down. There are no directions regarding that part
It depends what you’re anchoring it down to but I used tapcons even though they are not really recommended you’re better off using actual concrete anchors in concrete.
We just got ours. 12 x 16. It came in 5 boxes. I hope that is right?????
I'm in Mexico and I plan to go for a gazebo like yours. Will the boxes fit in a pickup truck?
Where is the link to the second review on this? Thank you.
Great video .......I Like the idea of the string or rain chain.....how did you connect it to the upper hole in corner?
I tied it to a small nail and stuck it up in the hole. I’ve noticed water also comes out of the other 2 small holes but you could cover them up.
@@JeremiahMcintosh thanks for responding, good ideas…..i got my frame up this morning…..thanks for the video man!!
@@JeremiahMcintosh hey a question, for the big bottom roof of gazebo, do you start with the middle or the side tiles first??
How did you anchor it down?
How much would you charge for installation, two people? Thank you!
If track for mesh netting is bolted in, are you able to attach the middle piece T1 afterwards?
I’m not sure which piece is T1 without looking in the manual
What is the weight limit of the u bolt for a fan?
I just purchased this same gazebo should I get rubber washers for the bolts for the roof panels like you suggested???
So far in my experience, it has not leave that much from the bolts, but definitely leaks from the balls on top. If you wanted to make sure it never leaked from the bolts i would.
Either way, make sure you silicone the balls on top or put rubber washers under them as well because they will definitely leak.
Thanks!
We’ve just started installing the lower/main roof panels, did you screw/bolt them down as you went? Trying to figure out the best way to do it, and making sure to get the rubber spacers in as well.
Thank you so much for the Super Thanks and your generosity Andrew! It’s greatly appreciated!!
I put the screws in the panels as I went because It’s easier to reach the bolt and rubber underneath that way but didn’t tighten them until I had them all in one side. I did tighten the high bolt in the center when starting each side tho.
You will need someone to hold the wrench on the nuts underneath when tightening if you leave them loose tho. Also start from the middle and work your way to each end it’s easier. It did seem like some of the bolt holes were a little hard to line up getting towards the end but I stuck a screwdriver in one hole and and used it as leverage to force the panel the way I needed it to while putting a screw in one of the other holes. Also, make sure you leave the bottom and middle row rails loose until you get all the bolts started and don’t tighten the roof bolts up too much at the end because it will crush the panels. Oh, I also left the top channel loose inside where the panel slides up into until the end in case I needed to push it up a little. Hope this helps and thanks again for the support!
@@JeremiahMcintosh your guidance is very much appreciated. You weren’t kidding about keeping everything loose, and those upper roof brackets…. They fall off very easily. Hahaha
We just bought the same 12x16 gazebo and want to say thanks for a very informative video. My question is, how did you end up securing it to your patio? Like you, we are on a concrete patio and I’m thinking of expanding screws into the slab. What are your thoughts?
Paul
I used tapcons but the expanding concrete anchors would definitely be better.
Thank you very much for this video! I’m currently at the steps where you install the larger panels and was extremely frustrated starting at the corners instead of the center pieces. As far as the panels go, do you just press in the flimsy clips into the grooves? I’m assuming once they’re locked in the groove with the grommet and bolt that they’re good to go?
You mean the plastic pieces that clip on the angled part of the panels?
Correct. I started from the edges and couldn’t keep the clips inside the groove( kept popping off). I’m assuming starting from the center makes snapping them into the groove much easier?
Yes had the same issue. This part was the most frustrating. I put in duct tape over the Z parts
I am considering buying one just now, my concern is long term durability and maintenance. Is there anything we can do to have it last longer? I am wondering why give a 1 year warranty on a frame and 5 year warranty for roof. I am hoping to have this last at least 5-7 years, hoping for 10.
Hey good videos. But one question. Don’t we need to fix / screw the post to the ground?
Yes or it could blow away!
I'm strongly considering purchasing a Purple Leaf gazebo. Would you have any recommendations for anchoring it to a pre-existing composite deck? We're worried just screwing it into the deck boards may not secure it well enough in a strong wind. I'm also concerned about the 40mph wind limit. We've had some pretty strong winds this year in Ohio!
You could always put solid wood under the decking boards and then lag screw it down to those.
Im about 80% sure of buying this. Anyone know how it does in heavy winds? ( south carolina ) storms and hurricanes
We have a 12 x 12 gazebo, what is the easiest way to install the rubbber support under the roof panels? The instructions are not the best. Thank you
You did a good job demonstrating how to install the Gazebo. You did not address the top roof putting it together. I had trouble with the decorative balls on top. The inside of balls would not tighten. I ended up with roof leaking at balls. I did get replacements but felt they were not watertight. I filled the holes with silicone in lieu of using balls
Thank you. I’ve noticed the same problem with them leaking and needing to add silicone.
Does the mesh in the roof keep bugs out or do they fall into a trap that you’d have to clean up?
Yes it keeps the bugs out.
Purchased a 12 x 20, having problems with water leaking under the roof. Appears that water may be entering under or around the decorate balls ontop of the 2nd roof. Any suggestions?
Ive had the same problem from the balls on top. I’m going to try silicone or rubber washers under the bolt heads and balls.
Did you use the concrete anchors that came with it or did you buy something else to bolt it to your patio? What masonry bit did you use?
I actually used tapcons but concrete wedge anchors would have actually been better.
@@JeremiahMcintosh thank you
Did you film your anchoring? I would like to see that. I just put up a 12x13 purple leaf yet still have to anchor it.
Hi. I've only just seen your video. We also ordered a gazebo 10x14. Unfortunately, ours is already there and build up. We now have the problem that the roof is leaking. :( And we don't know why. We're assuming because we also made the mistake and didn't build the panels from the center but from left to right like you initially did. Does your roof leak? We just don't know what it could be. I would be very grateful for a feedback. Warm greetings from Germany.
It is probably leaking around the fasteners because there is no gasket between the bolt head and sheeting.
I bought the 10’x14’ faux teak wood this week. Day1 went smoothly…only weird spot was the 4 rails w/bendable tabs that form support under the center ceiling cap. Will attack ceiling panels tomorrow😅
I'll make a video and keep updating if purple leaf wants to send me one...
Me too!!
How many boxes did this come in and where did you get yours from?
I got mine directly from Purple leaf and showed how many boxes there were in the video.
Jeremiah Mcintosh Could you help me by telling me how much I can charge to put it together please, thank you very much!!!!
Wow! I would have never guessed that the UA-cam channel that was at least partially responsible for convincing me to buy a Lectric XP 2.0 is now giving a tutorial for how to assemble this gazebo, which I was just hired to do "professionally."
Thanks for sticking around. Never know what you’ll see on my channel lol.
and what is the price to assemble
The main reason I would like to buy one of these is that all summer long here there are lots of bugs. The fact that the sun roof has a opening makes me wonder if they can get in through the roof top even though I close the moskitos screens?
The opening in the top has a screen as well.
@@JeremiahMcintosh great thanks 👍
I see you've had this just about 1 year. Did you do a follow up review? If so, where can I find it? Overall how did you like it after a year?
It actually hasn’t been a year yet and I have not made a follow up video yet but has held up great so far. I haven’t taken the curtains off even through winter and it is held up great but you cannot keep them closed on super windy days.
The wind will blow snow underneath it, and sometimes rain if it’s super windy, but still loving it. Was great for grilling out underneath it this winter.
How did the Gazebo hold up during the Winter.
It’s holding up great so far.
Dude, you are the man. Starting with the center panels was the trick. I had a different brand 14x20 and instructions told me to start from left to right. I found your video and it made a big difference. Wish the best to you and your family. Palm Harbor,FL

You didn't say how you attached the posts to the stamped concrete patio
I used tapcons to bolt mine down but wedge anchors would actually be better.
I stalled this alone without any help with great success. easy
Only need the bigger one...
Omg thank you soooo much very hcelpfulfull video the camera viewing perfect angles !!! 🎉 thank you
Was a bitch to put the roof togher n leaks all over the place from the rain, from top leaking in and all the sides leaking where the screw join the sections together, just siliconed mine all around the screws and the joining sections which also act as a lower gutter come to find out, im stil doing some mods to channel the water away from the sides amd down the pillars. would i buy it again? Mayb…still trying to find a way to stop water from leaking in from top, i dont think its coming from the screws or the few rivets ontop but i beleive its from the folds that goes under the upper part that the water followed. Kinda hard to get ontop to check things out as it is pretty flimsy. Better luck to the next person.
The only leaks I’ve had with mine is the 2 screws that attach the balls to the top leak and one screw in the center leaks a little bit.
@@JeremiahMcintoshwould you say the one without the balls would be better? My retired parents just ordered this and my dad is a carpenter but we will all be helping. We had to get the balls one as the one without balls was sold out. Any tips to prevent leaking?
@Godiscoming888 the one with balls is fine, but when you install the balls, make sure you put silicone underneath the ball before installing it to prevent water from leaking down through. You can use the sealant that comes with the gazebo.
@@JeremiahMcintosh thanks. Told my dad his reply was “I already know what to do- you don’t have to tell me” 😂
0:57 IMHO...location dumps all the water coning off the roof right at that doorway? Hmmmmmmmmmm??? Maybe a gutter to divert away?
Yes I’m going to either use a rain chain or make some sort of downspout for that corner.
how has this held up. 40mph rating is pretty low...
So far it has held up great!
These plates are very thin and easily bendable.. should have been more firm.
A 40 MPH Wind is not that big of a gust of wind.. my only concern......
You were moving to fast
Well, the part that I needed to watch you just skipped over completely. Those 23 little things go the edge of one paneling and you push it in. They have clips on them. I have no idea how they’re supposed to stay there and went by so fast you didn’t even address that issue.
Good job. It looks like I will not be able to do this on my own and will need some help.
It definitely makes it go a little easier with some help!
We did 90% of the assembly by myself but needed help to put on the top side rails. Got the wife to hand me the roof panels, bolts and washers. Took about 12-16 hours total. Separating the bolts, nuts and washers into labled bags was key and of course being able to think and understand assembly drawings @@JeremiahMcintosh
