      We haven't had that problem, maybe your tube got frozen or you need more glue? Let me know if you figure it out

    Hey David & Jeanie, Any suggestions on transporting large panels to art shows? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

      If you are driving to an art show then do a package and hand carry it, but if you are doing a show where you have to ship, follow the steps in ua-cam.com/video/XOLVOb4m0Tg/v-deo.html and then ship using UPS, If it's very large, consult with your local UPS store, they will have ideas that you might not have thought of. Sometimes we've added a wooden box around the foam package, but that's not always a hundred percent safe

    I saw a microwave kiln that seemed like an economical alternative for a crafter. Any thoughts?

      We have some friends who started using a microwave kiln and quickly outgrew it..we plan to do a video on using one in the future

    How do you know all those bits are the same sort of glass? I was thinking about getting a microwave kiln for making glass blobs, things fun to work with but then I'm seeing conflicting info on fusing stained glass. Some people are saying no, you cannot use it, then here you guys are with what is most likely bits of stained glass, being fused?
    How do I know or tell the difference?

      We mostly have system 96 glass in stock and before doing any project, we look at the brand of the sheet and do our best to make sure it's all 96 coe - sometimes we make a mistake and the finished piece cracks. When got our first kiln, I had visions that I would be able to put scraps into the kiln and make my own sheets of glass, but it's a true art form and very technical. The saying is "Warm Glass Artists Learn To Live With Disappointment" and that's true. It's worth trying (I would buy a cheap microwave oven for using my microwave kiln in) Good Luck 😀😬😮😀

    can i use a convection oven instead of a microwave?

    • @GommStainedGlass
      @GommStainedGlass  3 роки тому +1

      The microwave kiln works because it gets the glass bits up to 1350 degrees, a convection oven would not do that. The microwave kiln is little but it still gets very hot so you'll need to be careful. If doing microwave work, I would get a cheap microwave oven to work with, I wouldn't use the one in my kitchen.
