About tea, I never realised we drink so much tea until I lived in Uganda and Tanzania for some years. Even our East African neighbours get shocked at how much tea we drink as Kenyans. The ancient Cush was along sudan and Ethiopia alongside the river nile which continues and touches the Land of Kenya(lake victoria) , where also we have cushites people.(Masaai) (Zep 3:10 From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings.) I'm from Tanzania, Kenya's neighbors. We have very similar cuisines. We do not use too much oil and pepper in our foods. Situations differ from one county to another but generally the amount of Pepper inWest African cusine is generally not a common occurrence in our cuisine. Coastal tribes all over Tanzania, Kenya, and neighbouring islands use spices like cardamom, blackpepper, cumin, cinnamon, masala, garlic, ginger, cloves and coconut cream e.t.c but pepper is used in moderation. This style of cuisine is now generally wide spread throughout EA especially Tanzania and Kenya Pepper is usually made into "chachandu", it's a blended cooked or fermented mixture of pepper and garlic, lemon e.t.c so a person get to add on the plate as much pepper as they would like whilst not affecting others.I hope you got to try masala tea. I visited Nigeria last year and I almost fainted because of pepper and oil in food. I ended up eating swallow and all sorts of boiled yams (your yams are super good). I also found a supermarket where I was able to buy basmati rice. I'm sure you've noticed that our 'soups' are generally cooked individually incontrast to how Nigerians can make one dish and use fish, chicken beef, and all sorts of proteins in one pot It's crazy how cultures can differ so much withing the same continent
Woow this is an interesting information 🤗. Thank you for sharing. Yeahhh You are very observant we literally cook our soups with different proteins in one😅😅. Thank you so much Pearl, I appreciate you alot 🙏❤️
Thank you for your kind review of our country. About the spices that we grow but don't eat 😂 we Kenyans are very happy to grow stuff just for sale, rather than consumption. Although we produce some of the best coffee in the world, we don't have a big coffee drinking culture, unlike our northern neighbours in Ethiopia. We grow coffee, sell it and buy tea instead! Same goes for spices...
Thank you for your insights. I now know a few things about Nigeria, ie, the differences. We kenyans differentiate between spicy food & hot food. Chillies is just one of many spices. It's not the main ingredient in our cuisine; but garlic & curry powder are. Besides, Kenyans are health conscious about causes of stomach ulcers, and we try to reduce foods that could cause this. I'd love to come to Nigeria and eat your foods, esp egusi & jollof rice😋
Actually very many Kenyans suffer from ulcers / hpylori and chillies really aggregate this 😬 Since cutting down on certain spices and chillies even cases of heartburn has reduced in my home and I don't need to buy any medicine for ulcers 🙂
Fresh fruits are in plenty and many varieties in kenya , fresh cow milk not powder , palm oil is for export not consumption in kenya , tea is our culture coffee mostly is for export . I miss home 😢
You said it all Gina, I was equally shocked about these. Also, Kenyans go Dutch, I only realized this when I was asked to pay for my food at a birthday hangout that I was invited for by the celebrant. I miss Kenya regardless.

I will visit Ghana ,Gambia and Nigeria. Its up to us to promote Africa, not go beg for visas to countries that look down on us!.
Exactly, Africa to the world 🌎 . Thank you so much 🙏
Welcome to Kenya Gina. You've nailed it especially our food 😊. I love spicy food, and always say that I'll travel to west Africa, for a food tour! Semo with spicy egusi or ogbono soup is my family's favourite! Karibu sana
Awwww good to know, you know the vibeeesssss😍😍😍 semo with Egusi is a good deal. Thank you so much Cecily😍
Kenya is quite chilled. People mind their own business. As a foreigner living in Kenya 🇰🇪 the only advice I can give is stick to the law..The authorities nowadays have a habit -which they enjoy, on cracking down on foreigners.
Thank you so much 🙏
I have lived in SA, experienced the profiling by police.. would you please elaborate on how they crack down on foreigners, I don't get to see it as as a Kenyan. We also know the president order to allow all Africans here to live in peace
@@sylviah9666 Thank you Sylviah, I appreciate 😊🙏
@@sword_tech I know this and you are so right👍
which is damn sad. we want our foreigners to feel safe not harrassed by cops.
Wow, that’s an awesome review... Enjoy your stay here. You could have added that we are very hospitable 😊

Omg there is something soooooo nice about africans speaking possitive about other african countries! ❤
Thank you so much friend, I appreciate you ❤️Yes we are One. I pray and hope all African countries come together to make Africa better.
@@GinaZara1 Amen! I live in Senegal but I must admit I love Nigeria and Ghana since I used to have so many Ghanaian friends as a child in Holland and my best friend: Funke is Nigerian! Still hoping to visit at least those two countries soon! Ps Nigerian music is the best music in whole world! Love your video! Good luck in Kenya... love Nina
This was a really nice review. Very respectful, informative & entertaining.
Thank you so much for your amazing feedback, I appreciate you 🙏❤️
I love your sense of humour. We grow the spices to export them.Agriculture is the main source of foreign exchange. We also have really good coffee and we also have flowers especially the roses and the tulips but we export them.I can say Kenya 🇰🇪 is a very hard working country.Enjoy Kenya and stay warm.karibu nyumbani.
Asante sana 🙏, I appreciate you alot 🤗
Kenya is the place to be....there in women working hard
Yeah I admire their hardwork🤗😍
Oh Gina! I've watched this video. And I realised this is so prophetic. The Lord is restoring the relationship between these two nations. Kenyans have been skeptics of Nigeria but not anymore! Revival has begun. The Lord is doing a work within the borders of Africa.
Thank you so much my good friend, yes this is a restoration era. We are one Africa and we all need to come together and make Africa better. Asante sana sis I really do appreciate you 🙏
Prophetic? Where? 😂😂😂
Kenya, green city in the sun, is the springboard of revival
@@ifeifesi There is a great prophecy in the bible which was prophecied by Prophet Isaiah when he said that the land of Cush and at the boarder of Egypt. He further continue to describe the people who are there. The Prophecy says there will be an altar of God and those people will worship God and there will be a great revival. The ancient Cush was along sudan and Ethiopia alongside the river nile which continues and touches the Land of Kenya(lake victoria) , where also we have cushites people.(Masaai)
(Zep 3:10 From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings.) From beyond the rivers of Cush which we see as river nile and beyond his worshipers shall worship God and take offerings to God. We see kenya being beyond the river of Cush and serving the Lord in end times.
@@thebibleproject101 Your analysis though 😂
I believe you will still find some more differences that will amuse you. Nice review. Keep up

You are very right...This is just what we are in Kenya ..you forgot this....Kenyans love side hustles...Teacher owns a hotel and a matatu. Doctor works for a hospital, when free he runs his own clinic and clinic has a phramacy for selling medicine
Yeah I really forgot to add, I noticed this part of multiple streams of income as well. Kenyans are amazing people and I’m blessed to be here.
Office workers bring stuff to sell to their co-workers and we all have weekend side hustles 😃

New Kenyan subscriber here. That was a good video. Next time how about include images or short videos of what you see in Kenya, e.g. food, people at work, hustles of the city center etc. And if you visit Nigeria soon, how about do a video showing the countryside and village life of the country. We don’t throw the cow or goat skin most of the times, it’s dried and sold to tanneries for leather. That was my grandfather’s business.
That’s great, I mentioned the are used in production of shoes and drums as well
Very mature observations.
Thank you so much 🙏, I appreciate you
I'm from Tanzania, Kenya's neighbors.
This style of cuisine is now generally wide spread throughout EA especially Tanzania and Kenya
Pepper is usually made into "chachandu", it's a blended cooked or fermented mixture of pepper and garlic, lemon e.t.c so a person get to add on the plate as much pepper as they would like whilst not affecting others.I hope you got to try masala tea.
I visited Nigeria last year and I almost fainted because of pepper and oil in food. I ended up eating swallow and all sorts of boiled yams (your yams are super good). I also found a supermarket where I was able to buy basmati rice. I'm sure you've noticed that our 'soups' are generally cooked individually incontrast to how Nigerians can make one dish and use fish, chicken beef, and all sorts of proteins in one pot
It's crazy how cultures can differ so much withing the same continent
Woow this is an interesting information 🤗. Thank you for sharing. Yeahhh You are very observant we literally cook our soups with different proteins in one😅😅. Thank you so much Pearl, I appreciate you alot 🙏❤️
Great review of my country love it ❤
Asante sana kaka💕
Thank you for your kind review of our country. About the spices that we grow but don't eat 😂 we Kenyans are very happy to grow stuff just for sale, rather than consumption. Although we produce some of the best coffee in the world, we don't have a big coffee drinking culture, unlike our northern neighbours in Ethiopia. We grow coffee, sell it and buy tea instead! Same goes for spices...
😅😅😅😅😅this sounds great, making money comes first. Thanks for sharing dear
We actually grow tea😂😂, umesahau the vast fields of Kericho where tea is grown.
@@maritariziki7172 😅😅 sounds great
We grow tea,we've never imported....unless I'm at a miss

Glad that Africans are now focusing on visiting each other rather than visiting the West. Nigeria is on my bucket list
Yes good friend, African to the world 🌍
You should visit, I’m sure you will love it there 😍
Good and kind analysis
Asante sana 🙏
Thank you for your insights. I now know a few things about Nigeria, ie, the differences. We kenyans differentiate between spicy food & hot food. Chillies is just one of many spices. It's not the main ingredient in our cuisine; but garlic & curry powder are. Besides, Kenyans are health conscious about causes of stomach ulcers, and we try to reduce foods that could cause this. I'd love to come to Nigeria and eat your foods, esp egusi & jollof rice😋
Awwww thank you so much Esther and you are always welcomed to eat our delicacy. I’m sure you will enjoy them.
Actually very many Kenyans suffer from ulcers / hpylori and chillies really aggregate this 😬 Since cutting down on certain spices and chillies even cases of heartburn has reduced in my home and I don't need to buy any medicine for ulcers 🙂
