Freddie's piano playing in "My Melancholy Blues" is so very, very good. Along with Roger on drums, John on bass - this makes for a great jazzy trio set.

"My Melancholy Blues" reminds me of one of those old torch songs from the 30's & 40's. Freddie had an old soul & taste for music from other eras. And Roger's always fun to listen to.
Please do "Old Friends" Official Lyric Video, Roger's personal remembrance of Freddie. And Brian singing old-fashioned blues in "Sleeping On the Sidewalk " is upbeat & so much fun!💙
Cool Cat has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Every time you play it, I take a break and dance in my chair. Seriously... it's YOUR theme song! You should play it on the intro to every reaction you do.
Fun fact: It's nearly impossible to hear, but at the very end of 'Drowse' after Roger says "Now who else do I like?", right before the fade out you can very faintly hear him say "Brian May" in response. I just think that's really sweet. :)
Dreamer's Ball, Don't Try Suicide and a Freddie solo track, Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow. There's another Freddie solo track, I Was Born To Love You, that Queen reworked after Freddie's death. Both versions are top-notch.

What I think? My first impulse was pressing that thumbs up button when I saw which songs you were going to play. ‘39 is a terrific sci fi folk song. One of Brian’s best in my opinion. Also Keep Yourself Alive. It’s an absolute Queen classic off of their first album and written by May before the entire band was even together
Great reaction as always to Queen. I love the fact that you enjoy Cool Cat so much. It's such an underrated classic. Please react to You Take My Breath Away Live at Hyde Park, I think it's 1976. Freddie plays and sings it alone. It is a song that has not even been recorded yet. His vulnerability is heartbreaking and yet he has complete control of the crowd. Amazing moment in history!

My Melancholy Blues is a favorite of mine, but his live versions are almost better than the studio version. I’ve always thought this song was about more than a breakup. I think it was also about how they’d finally reached the point where they’re famous enough to be stalked and hounded by the press and he felt too exposed (“step into my enclosure” like a zoo enclosure) when he was dealing with stuff that was private like relationships.
Drowse is said to be one of Roger Taylor’s best songs lyrically, and it definitely fits the kind of songs he tends to write: “These are the Days of our Lives”, “Loser in the End”, “Sheer Heart Attack”, “Tenement Funster”, etc, all talk about the passage of time and age reflecting your perceptions of the world.
Next time you listen to Queen, I’d recommend watching the official “Great Pretender” vídeo and then the behind-the-scenes footage. It’s a Freddie Mercury solo single and a cover of a song by The Platters but Roger is in the video and I think he sings background vocals on the track. It’s an amazing song that he sings like he wrote it, and the video is a great laugh as well as an insight into Freddie’s view of his career/stage persona

I'm really enjoying your Queen reactions. Freddie Mercury was a true treasure. Have you watched any current Queen videos? I'm curious what you think of Adam Lambert's lead vocals. Personally, I think Adam just may be the only singer out there that has the amazing range that Freddie had along with similar on stage, front man, flamboyance. In my opinion, he's helping to keep Queen alive and I love that!
Also, it would be good to watch a UA-cam video called "Queen + Adam Lambert To Rock Dublin - Radio Nova 100" . It shows Adam along with Brian May and Roger Taylor discussing choosing Adam as Queen's new lead singer. Great interview!

Love both these songs. Glad someone is reacting to less known Queen songs. You should react to In the Lap of the Gods Live at the Rainbow 1974. You have reacted to the Revisited version already but not this one. It is a different song and Roger Taylor has some soaring backing vocals that will give you chills! Also Friends will be Friends Live at Wembley 1986 is a great Deacon/Mercury song put in between We Will Rock you and We are the Champions.
