GREAT PRICE on the Fujifilm X-T4!!! - geni.us/VN08T2X
In this video I go over all the key differences between the Fujifilm X-T3 and the Fujifilm X-T4. I also test the IBIS vs non IBIS performance on the Fujinon 18-55mm, Fujinon 16-80mm, Fujinon 10-24mm, Fujinon 55-200mm, Fujinon 90mm f2, Fujinon 23mm f2, Fujinon 35mm f2, and Fujinon 50mm f2.

IBIS is also useful for lowlight photos with static subjects - street scenes at night, shooting in woodlands, etc.

Great, very comprehensive testing and analysis!
I used to own a Sony a6300. I loved its 4K24 image quality, but handheld shooting without microjitters was so difficult. With a heavy rig it was ok, but looked so silly for that small camera!
Last year I bought the X-T4 and I love it! It is great for hybrid shooting and run&gun filmmaking. Still, I would say that the most challenging way of shooting is handheld with swaying motion. The IBIS tries too hard to resist that motion and results in stuttering. I wish those IBIS parameters could be changed.

I wanted to upgrade because I had some money and thought it was the right thing to do. I am moving more towards video jobs. But I’m just wondering. Should I just return the xt4 and wait for an upgrade whenever fuji decides to launch the new gear (been waiting a while) or should I just keep it, sell my old xt2, and maybe sell the xt3 when the xt5 arrives…. 🤔

Well… IBIS also makes a difference for stills when you have a slow shutter speed. Useful for low light situation, but not only. I like to go to 1/8s or even 1/6s for street photography sometimes, having every building clear and people/bikes/cars blurred… Hard to do without IBIS if you don’t have a tripod :/

The LCD on the X-T4 sports 1.62m dots, as opposed to 1.04m dots on the X-T3 LCD. When you consider how much one has to use the LCD, whether to shoot photos, reviewing photos taken, or scrolling through the menus, the higher resolution is nicer.

Three years have gone by and this video is still so relevant. Thank you so much for the depth of your analysis and ammount of work put into it. I would like to hear a bit more on the impact of IBIS on low light photography as I really love night street photography. I currently own a X-E2 and am suffering to choose between X-T3 or X-T4. I haven't used the XT3 but the XT4 with IBIS is solid. I shoot all handheld and I don't notice any microjitters. Thanks for the video Mark - nice job.
I own an XT3 and carrying an extra couple of batteries is no biggie.
My movie settings never get lost - switching back & forth to stills.
Using a gimbal normally (this would even be needed with IBIS), as you've noted. Gimbals are needed to video.
IBIS is more useful for low light stills, of course.
IBIS is great marketing & sells many more cameras too.
The flippy screen is over-rated since I can make changes in post and I generally know already what my lens sees during a vlog. I see you did a great job too with your vlog, without the flippy screen. I've tried the mirrors but even then I don't really need that either.
Despite my bias, I think the XT3 is a much better deal, especially now since the price is reduced with the introduction of the XT4, as you've noted.
I do however need a larger grip so a simple add on Small Rig piece is OK.
The firmware upgrades (now 4.1) also reduces the need to buy newer hardware.
Question: should I disable the OIS in my 18-55 with gimbal usage? I'll try and see if this helps or hinders.
Keep up the videos and thanks again.

It has a “silent” movie mode. Which does save the settings but disables all the dials and forces you to use the touch screen to control all functions. Thanks for taking the time to do the review and comparison. I don’t shoot video and I am convinced that my obvious choice would be the X-T3. The thing really annoys me is that most of the Fujifilm cameras includes the X-T3, X-T4, and the new X-H2, etc. are made outside of Japan. That’s why I own the X-T2 and X100V as both of them are made in Japan. This is the exact reason I am not interested in the X-H2. If I buy a Japanese car, I definitely want one made in Japan. Potentially the lone Fujifilm camera ends up being made in Japan may be the medium format? This is the exact reason why I dropped Nikon 10 years ago after using Nikon for over 40 years.
