The birds display regularly at the entrance to the nesting chamber, and vigorously guard the vicinity against other Pardalotes. Both sexes incubate and care for the young birds. Other members of the group may also help with the feeding of the young 🐦📸

Nice work Adrian. Back in the late 80’s my in-laws owned a large property up in the hills just south of Stanthorpe. I was lucky enough to get 2 photographs of a Spotted Pardelote. 1 photo was a bit fuzzy, the other one spot on, I was using a Nikon F3 and Kodachrome 64. The little fella had a nest in a mud bank, as you said use your ears to find them. Cheers

They love those holes in mud banks for nests. I've seen some coming out of drains and apparently they build nests there too. Thanks for watching
