The way you shot it made it look like a bolt action pirates flintlock

Bf1 orbrez is always the first in my mind but these longer ones also are cool.

Personally for me, the other way around but to each thier own, there was a lot of variety historically

Oh and for people asking what the recoil is like, it's comparable to a S&W .500 magnum, but not as snappy and unpleasant just because the obrez itself weighs like 5+ lbs so absorbs a lot of the recoil because it's so heavy to begin with.

Garand thumb just posted a video of one similar.
He said it doesn’t need to be SBR’d and no need for a pistol permit due to it being bolt action.
    Also doesn’t C&R play a role too?
The way I understood it, it’s completely legal to chop a mosin negant.

    Good job!
Having lived and worked in Military/ Civil Law enforcement in Estonia I've seen similar hybrid firearms.
I am wondering what is the barrel length?
As well as have you conducted Accuracy, Power and Penetration tests?
If so please share the results.
    Thank you.
Many Americans wonder why such cut down Rifle- Pistol hybrid firearms were made. Like the gentleman stated close quarters urban house battles during WW2 was a factor.
As well as the fact that in the Soviet Union,:which was a tollatarian International Socialist Communist Police State, Firearms especially Handguns were severely controlled.
You had to be "Awarded One" to legally own one and the choices were very limited as werecsuch awards of Handguns. Magnum revolvers were generally not a possibility.
Today in Russia the old Communist Firearms laws are still pretty much very similar to the old Soviet Union laws.
So making an " Obrez" hybrid would offer a magnum powerfactor defacto Handgun that could be carried and fired in a wilderness areas for protection against dangerous apex predatorial beasts in the vast wilds of lands that Russia occupies.

This is really cool, i think you should do more videos on your obrez! Does this gun "key hole' on targets and how accurate is this?

    • @ShirudoSystems
      @ShirudoSystems  2 роки тому +6

Thanks! It somehow does not seem to keyhole at all and the projectiles seems to retain their stability. I haven't been able to really test accuracy per se since it doesn't have any sights. I have been able to hit steel targets at 100+ yards though before by aiming down the barrel. So the projectiles seem to still shoot straight without keyholing or anything like that. I also chronographed it at an average of 1,860 feet per second, so retains a lot of velocity as well.

Honestly with this type of gun it's a really be designed to have the bolt on the opposite side of where it is now so that way you can one hand it and then use the other hand to rechamber around honestly I like the idea of a high caliber pistol like that

Why did you have to SBR it? I thought as long as it didn't have a stock, pistols in rifle calibers were fine. Is it because it started life as a rifle? Like the whole sawn off shotgun thing?

I don’t think you have to sbr these to turn them into pistols, it’s like an AR-15 remove the stock then cub the barrel. No tax stamp required, at least that’s what it used to be. Always research before you do it though.

My buddy and I stopped along highway 3 in BC near manning park we went down some rocks to the river to shoot his Mosun Nagant rifle. We see a little home, we assumed it was a bears place that he kind of burrowed in but now I recall bent branches into the ground. Their was a skull placed on a rock outside the den and it looked like a gigantopithacus skull, no joke with the big ridge along the back. We picked it up but left it cuz we started getting hits on backs of neck so I loaded the rifle and blasted a big boulder in the den and it split the boulder in two, the boulder would have been the size of this things head no doubt. Anyway we left the skull so so sos so so so dumb. But that’s what happens with those things they make to second guess your logic. True story
