Levelling is for me one of the best experiences in this kind of games. I love getting to experience new zones and quests and unlock new skills. The gear grinding at endgame becomes old very fast for me.
im with you. I haven't enjoyed raiding much recently specially since people have only been running karazhan and they go in with very bad gear wich ends up going for 4 hours or more. I recently went back to questing and i decided to try min max as much as i can without breaking my bank. So im using enchants , food buffs, weapon buffs, elixirs , scrolls , potions and any nice reasonably priced gear i can buy off ah. I gotta say its a really nice lvling experience that I have never tried before and im really enjoying ( my own little raid).
I really dislike leveling in most MMOs and leveling in classic is pretty high up there. I think the gameplay isn't very fun because you don't have access to a lot of skills and stats that change the experience drastically but I want to make it clear that boosts aren't the solution to this. If the game sucks then improve the game. I wonder why their solution wasn't to increase experience gain. I think Blizzard actually did improve because leveling in some of the expansions was much better and some other developers did an even better job at designing their game to offer a fun leveling experience.
I know right? Levelling is my favourite part of anything new in WoW coming out, I'm the type that stays in zones I've outlevelled just to finish all the quests Edit: And I've genuinely never used any of my level boosts, I'd rather just get there myself. Shame I can't resell them to somebody that might use them
Same. I like old world content in wow. Just a shame so many take the boost path. Some good news, with tbc announced more people are leveling in the old content again.
Its literally the worst part of the game in my opinion. The world is mostly empty and annoying to travel, the quests have like 5 variations, world pvp is a grief fest, and dungeons take forever to find. at least with raids you have a spectacle.
It's the majority of the content for vanilla, and was the best part of the game for me. And was what a large portion of the players ever experienced. The exploration and discovery of the beautifully made WORLD of warcraft was a huge factor in why the community boomed and the game become so successful. The epic scale of the zones, the music, the look dev and style. A realization of the warcraft lore in 3d you could experience as a lowly adventurer.
The problem with being able to pay for extra fast progress is that the developer will often balance and pace the game around the paid experience, squeezing more and more money out of players and making the mid-game a nuisance. You shouldn't want to skip levels 1-58 any more than you would want to skip from Goodsprings to Hoover Dam, or just skipping straight to fighting Hades in Hades. If boosting to the end is considered "skipping the boring part" instead of "gouging 96% of the game out", something is probably wrong. Consider Path of Exile, where the leveling is fast and frequent, and people level new characters to try new builds. The endgame is the big focus for many, but you can have loads of fun casually leveling a character through the story.
I don't even play wow but watching wow youtubers is like watching housewives with abusive husbands rationalizing whats wrong in the relationship and then going back with the guy. I left in cata, never came back
I played some classic, realized that memories are that, memories, it was the people I met along the way, while being my usual loner self, right now I know the game inside out, and it's just trying to re-create a feeling that's long gone. Also, left after trying to get back in the game, and seeing how wod was legion was bfa, and I don't care about shadow lands (as the story is just so dumb, I can't believe that)
Dont play classic for the nostalgia play it because it’s a good game. You can never recreate a Past time in your life and that’s fine but classic standalone is a great game, I’ve been playing classic for like 8 years now with private servers and now blizz it was never about the nostalgia it’s a good game. Now with TBC out we’re just replaying the golden era of an amazing game. Fuck retail it blows and will never be good again the good developers are long gone, just replay the golden era or move on to another game.

If not, go watch the original video instead, that way they can watch without pausing as much as they want. So obviously, he will react. And he also wants to follow the rest of the content. The leveling experience was one of the core elements of WoW to begin with. The endgame was only there to keep those who completed their journeys busy. The addition of all these paid services does pervert the core essence of the game to some extent, the same way I probably felt 11 years earlier when Blizzard announced the faction transfer and drastically changed up server populations.
My theory is that they want classic to stagnate with the introduction of the level boost to drive first time classic players into shadowlands to boost cash shop sales and player retention numbers for retail

@@KC-py5vq You're ignoring 80% of game for the last 20% are you that dumb? Like seriously leveling can be tedious but if you're going to simply ignore it then there is no point in previous content existing. This is the exact reason why classic wow is as popular as it was and retail isn't.
The way I played classic was not to look up any info about what to do, I was clueless when it came to gear, world buffs, mats, talents etc. I asked people in game for help. It re created a feeling for me that I don’t think I will ever get.

Didn't even start, although I was excited and during vanilla took a break when TBC came out. But the way people acted during Naxxramas completely turned me off and I went 'fudge it, not gonna bother..' Bye Blizzard
The worst part of this is activision blizzard very likely knows all of this, and is counting on people abusing it. Which just means more profits for activision blizzard at further expense of the game.

@soulafein82 you clearly dont understand how a business works, or how players work, i'm sure they would be happy if all their original players played and they didnt have to recruit new players, but how many do you think are still playing that were in vanilla?
Gamers themselves are just as much to blame for that with how most only care about the player count of a game and not much else the companies follow that a lot of the bad things gamers bitch about us the fault of gamers and the rest is companies allowing suits to make most of the decisions
Faction changing would be cool if there were a dangerous quest involved. Realistically very few of the alliance would take a horde player in. And visa versa. So making you cross enemy lines to defect would be so cool.
I still love levelling in games. A lot of my favourite experiences are there. Questing, seeing it all for the first time. Once you're into endgame grind a lot of games fall off for me, honestly. The love I developed while levelling keeps me invested.

I actually looked into this as social media has its panties in a twist, they laid off those poeple becasue a) they are disolving the ESports branch and simply put those people have no where else they can go...what is blizzard suppose to do pay them to sit around ? b) Brexit and Covid made it impossible to transfer the European studios to London so the only other option was laying them off (though everyone got from what ive read a very nice severance package, which blizzard could have been real dicks and simply cut them off) As for the bonus Blizzard made about 1.5 billion dollars more in just profit than in 2019, so yeah everyone got good bonuses not just the CEO. Honestly i feel for these people who got laid off, having experienced it many times it fucking sucks...but i also understand a business is suppose to make money, and them losing money to accomidate people who they dont have a place for sends a bad message to investors which in the long run can damage a company beyond saving and lead to everyone losing their job (ie the business model of games journalist outlets like Kotaku which are on the verge of chapter 11 becasue of shitty management)

I know this is an older video, but the sold boosts killed my excitement for tbc. One of the best experiences i miss from MMOs is seeing my investment in the game providing a return, on an equal playing field with other legitimate players, without microtransactions devaluing effort put in. If you dont have the time to invest in an MMO, then maybe it isnt for you. I say this as someone who only briefly played classic but was looking forward to tbc. Leveling makes you invested in your character, you see value as a result of your effort and so are invested in the game itself. Instead now all you see is a ton of people who you just assume bought boosts, because thats more likely than not the case. Now if you qctually play the game you are simply being less efficient. Yeah you could level a new character, but if you do you're just a chump for spending a couple weeks leveling instead of just working your day job for a couple hours to pay for a boost. Or if you literally cannot afford the boost, you just feel like a second class customer. Its the kind of psychological manipulation that has been destroying blizzard games, and i was looking forward to avoiding. So instead its just a pass for me
I love one of the first comments I see is literally the type of person he describes in the beginning. Your feelings aren’t everyone’s feelings. Yet, your whole argument is everyone should have your feelings and everything that’s not your feelings is wrong. Hilarious.
MMOs aren’t really for anyone seeing as it requires people to play more than anyone should be playing any game. A game stop being one the moment it turns into chores.

@@breakisbad4329 I just find the game really boring now, blizzard uses mythic+ as "new content". When all I see mythic plus as is greater rifts from Diablo 3 and I found that constant grind for a chance of good loot the higher you went shitty, repetitive and boring. They have 4 different levels of dungeons, normal, heroic, mythic and mythic+ why? Rehashing the same content 4 times is not "new" especially as a new expansion. When they first released heroic dungeons, sure it was cool it did make them harder but now it's just stupid, they have also did this to raids by adding the LFR, Normal, Heroic and Mythic. I find it very boring to be trying to clear the same content over and over and over and over on different difficulties just for the gear and effort to be useless come the next patch. It's why I quit retail and only play classic now, idc if it is easier than retail at least there is only 1 version of the content and once I am done running that stuff for the week I do whatever else I want.
@@acillius2 cause shitters need to have some sort of progression. Normally mythic bosses are harder than entire classic raids. You need to have difficulties that cater to those people. There's really only a small minority actually clearing mythic. Like 2% of playerbase small.
biggest issue I have with the boost is that it'll p much make your leveling experience pointless. you could spend months leveling depending on your schedule- yet some dude with a card could just pass you in 5 seconds. edit: the 58 requirement does make it much better now tho
The weird part is that leveling is by far the most casual part of the game. You can make lots of progress and see cool stuff and get new abilities even if you play just a few hours a week. It isn't until you hit the end game and have to compete with the hard cores it starts to suck. I don't see how skipping the most casual part of the game benefits casual players. No casual player has the time to do all the grinds and crap you have to do in the end game.
I'm leveling in classic for the first time and that's the best experience I had in year with WoW. I agree there's great things in retail but madseason got it right on boost services.
Battle passes are really ok in a lot of games. For example,i never paid a thing and managed to get fortnites free battlepass which made me able to buy each one without money ever since. However, doing this in a unbelievably expensive game like wow is complete stupidity.
I think battle passes are ok. There's almost no incentive to buy them if they don't give a competitive advantage. I've played multiple games that had them and never bought one.
i played 2 months of classic as warlock and hit 60, did my first raid and got the warlock mount but the leveling was so fun having a decent guide on how to gear my self and what dungeons to do that was the part i really liked and the natural group looking in zones to kill an elite mob
I wish people would stop thinking of leveling as just increasing numbers to reach maximum power instead of a consequence of your accumulating the experience of adventuring in the World of Warcraft.
Sure mate, go kill Boars in Westfall for 20hrs cause the quest Item has a droprate of 0.05% and do that for 4 Chars and lets talk about meaningful experiences in WoW again.
It sounds like they forgot what an RPG is. WoW is for people to immerse themselves in the sequel of Warcraft 3 whether it be doing quests, exploring areas within the world, PvPing, etc. It's not meant to be a short-term progression. Yes, Raids are great, but they were never the whole thing. If these people didn't like having to level up just so that they could do the high level stuff (since that sounds like all they cared about), they shouldn't have played the game in the first place.

@@user-wc3ez4kw4l you are greatly exaggerating the tedium of completing quests for emotional impact. It is tacky and weakens your argument. On the topic of multiple characters, it is a recent development that the average player expects to play an "account" with 5-8 characters they cycle through. The monotony and frustration a player feels when trying to acquire multiple maxed out characters is 100% by design. You are meant to get invested in a single character, and that's YOU in that game world. It was exceedingly rare back in the day for the average player to have even two max level characters. I don't think either system is better than the other, but I do think it's unwise for the people that want to play a whole bunch of characters to pitch a giant fit when they enter a system designed around a low quantity of active characters per account
Let me take you back 10 years. You're a new player and you're in your game's capital city, dressed in whatever ragged items the quest rewards decided to hand out to you. There are a lot of max level characters around. You take your time to look at these characters, to get a sense of what end-game looks like through the gear they have. You see an item that is so much more powerful than anything you've seen so far, and it gets you excited. Fast forward, you're now also max level! You've made it to the place you looked up to a while ago. But, now there's another kind of people you look up to. It's those that have done the content at the hardest difficulty. The real "heroes" of your game. You look at their gear, titles and maybe achievements too, and you think to yourself: "someday I'll be that cool". Contrast this to now; The gear you see them wearing, you've probably also seen something similarly powerful in a dungeon drop (not numbers wise obviously). The gear you're picking up has an overlaying outfit so you also look cool, even as level 12. Now you're max level and you look at these people and you're not even sure if they actually did it or just bought the achievements. That's what "catering to the people with little time" have done to MMORPGs to me. It has destroyed all sense of wonder and accomplishment in the game.
Wow. cannot believe theyre putting boosts in TBC classic. what a shame. Early classic was such an amazing experience too. We thought they were learning! We thought they were listening to us! lol guess not

@@MikeTall88 speaking as someone who quit wow years ago and used to be a hardcore player (10+ hours a day back in middle school/ Hs) the same game design philosophy that created all the expansions we hated- cata, wod, bfa etc is the philosophy behind the level boost. The idea of making things more accessible has counter intuitively made blizzard less money because their previous core of gamers decided the game was no longer worth playing. Think about the player counts in vanilla, bc and wotlk vs cata, mop, and wod. Tf is the point of playing a game where 1/2 the experience is removed by a paid service? All it does is decrease the amount of time spent in game per player which leads to less attachment which is a death knell in a subscription based game. Blizzard catering to the “make it more accessible” crowd allowed for the creation of store mounts, dungeon and raid finder, and nearly every other problem that made this game unplayable and no longer fun. By your logic, why not add LFR to BC? It would make the raids more accessible. I don’t play WoW anymore because I have too many obligations to play it seriously, and because I don’t like playing games casually, but the casual experience in early wow was always an alternative experience to the hardcore raiders/pvpers, not a watered down parallel experience. In vanilla if you were a casual player you slowly got to 60 did a bunch of dungeons and never got past molten core, but that was fine because blizzard used to recognize it is more fulfilling to have multiple content paths for different kinds of players. The boost just puts casuals on a watered down and necessarily less fulfilling version of the hardcore path, which, at the end of the day, benefits nobody.

I never boost in an MMO atleast personally for me it is so hard to go from no skills to 20+ skills and understand how all of them work together atleast when you spend the time to level you get the skills slowly and learn how they work together as you get them 1 by 1 it's like the difference between dumping a 100 piece puzzle out of a box and not separating the pieces and putting the puzzle together piece by piece starting with the corners and sides.
I'm looking forward to playing TBC-Classic because I liked the classes more. I don't really care one way or the other about outlands, truth be told. I want to go back to the base world of TBC, with the races, classes, specs and abilities which existed in TBC. The people who just want to boost in order to hit the raid content - imo - are hastening how quickly TBC-C will go dead. If you're 70 in a couple of days, rather than a couple of weeks, you do your raid progression then log off, until the next raid comes out. Unless you're a PvPer obviously, but even then - you get your gear then what? Boosting gives you *a* week, maybe two, of content, then nothing.

So I'm rebuilding my main on PvP and starting over fresh, and I'm actually having fun. Not even boosting, there are a lot of people who are not mage boosting either. Lot of people are playing like they did at release right now. Good time to work on that alt.
I've always been of the opinion that the level boost should have been just that - an EXP boost that helps you progress faster, but still "forces" you to level in the areas they've made. This way the game still holds true to its roots while still respecting other player's time, should they need it - and also keeping towns and zones alive. This also means Blizz can still charge for such a service without hurting the spirit and the point of the game itself for the mass majority. Kinda like EXP boosts in Warframe.

The WotLK commentary is spot on, Wrath was fun to play at the time, but it fundamentally changed the game in a way that removed my desire to play once the storytelling stopped carrying the franchise.
Yep, others have been saying this for years. Wrath was the beginning of the end. It was like a stage 1 cancer... nothing is obviously wrong at the time and you're still going on with life as normal having a great time. But it introduced a lot of the fundamental mindset changes that radically transformed WoW down the road. And it helped that those changes came in the expansion who's story was all about Arthas and finally getting a conclusion to the events in Warcraft 3.
With this many comments I'm sure this one will get lost but leveling up through the game naturally and then having someone boost is such a slap in the face. Being proud that you were able to stick it out and make it max and invest the time, energy, and everything else is part of the fun. "I did this." is one of the biggest motivators. So, having someone come along and boost to that level feel so shitty. Even if it's exclusive to accounts that already have a character that's max level on classic servers, it still feels bad. When you look out over a sea of people and you don't know who did the work and who is boosted, then no one did the work. I remember playing when Lich King came out and this same conversation happened the first time. It sucked then and it sucks now.
Here is how I see it. An MMO is largely character building. You level up your character, train skills, get gear and supplies and tackle challenges (whether it's dungeons, bosses, raids or something else), to get better loot (gear, recipes, supplies etc.), so you can tackle even higher tier of content and that cycle stacks on top of each other nicely, like a multi-tiered cake, until you reach some form of endgame. A character boost, in my opinion, completely shits on that concept. You pay some fee to skip a large part of the game, so you can arrive at the finish line without investing time. OK, but where is your cake? Exactly, you don't got one. At best, you have a single tirered cake, two if one is being generous in their assumption. My point is, by buying a character boost to reach the end game, you are essentially skipping that which makes an MMO, a MMO. It's not the relationships with people, the higher end content or anything else. It's making a character, starting from nothing and building it up and making said character a badass. That's what an MMO is all about at It's core. Why would you voluntarily skip all that? It's like if you started a narrative focused game and paid some money to skip to the end of it. What was the point of purchasing the game then? You saw the ending, but what about before it? What about the buildup, the tension? Did you understand it (the game and the story) or it's messages by skipping the whole thing and only seeing the end? That's how I view this situation. You just skip to the endgame and all you get from it is the fact that your wallet is lighter. Endgame content is not everything people, realise it. It's not the destination that is important, it's the journey. That cake building i talked about earlier.
@@matous2542 Mate there isn't anything exclusive in the end game for you to want to buy a boost. Current vanilla max lv players will reach the new cap and go through the content in about 1 month, maybe 2 for the slower players. There is no rush to reach the end game, you will have access to endgame content no matter when you reach it. Also just because the boost isn't max lv that still doesn't make it ok, you still skip over half of the leveling experience without even entering 2 zones.
@@matous2542 A major part of an MMO's meat and bone is PVM. While PvP has a pretty big role in MMO's, it takes a back seat to PVM'ing. Paying for the game, the monthy fees, the dlc's and the character boost to boost to near max just because you want to exclusively engage in high end PvP is in my opinion a very shallow, very selfish and very stupid reason to even engage in MMO's in the first place. If you genuinely want to do PVP, you can engage in games that have that as it's selling point. PvP is, more often than not, far from even being in the top 5 reasons to get into MMO's. Why are you talking if you don't even understand why people are angry? Did you even watch the video to try to understand? It's simple, If one can boost their character to near max, it devalues the grind, effort and time others have went and put into their character, because some random schmuck with a deep wallet can pay his way to near max level without going through any hardship and without putting any time into it. It's discouraging and disheartening. In my opinion, if those people you talk about want to experience the endgame, they ought to go through the same journey everyone else had to go through. That is true fairness - making the player adapt to the game, not the other way around. You should either grind like the rest of us or if you don't want to put the effort and time in, leave. If you can't put that time and effort for one reason or another than you also leave. It's tragic that you don't have time to spend, but a game developer shouldn't bend backwards and compromise on the game so as to accommodate someone who would rather skip a vast majority of it so that he can engage in the endgame content. Let's not even talk about how this opens the gates for more aggressive monetization. Let's not even talk about that, as I said, it's not the destination(endgame) that defines MMO's, it's the journey(leveling up and progression) you go through to reach it. Skipping huge part of it completely misses the point of MMO's.
Instead of giving players a lvl boost, they should give out exp multipliers. You'd still have people in the old world, and, more importantly, you'd get more player interaction, since more people would need to group for difficult quest, due to worse equipment during lvling. Adding to that, they could change the multiplier every so often, to change the optimal lvling strat, so that botters would need to adept more often. (Tho I'm not sure on that one tbh)
No, they should rework open world so leveling is fun, so doing things in the open world is fun, so you can play with friends without trivializing every fight, so there is things to do in the open world. Then you would see players in the open world.
@@laharlkent that doesn't punish bots, that punishes players for grinding. Bota dont give a fuck about low xp rates if they getting items. In wow classic i commonly would find the next zone too hard and be forced to grind in the current for levels and gear
To point something out Asmon said it doesn't take blizzard 30$ to transfer character or race change etc. It doesn't all it takes is a gm to target you and type a command.
A counter to this would be that it's easy to say this singularly, but Blizzard likely receives, organizes, and executes thousands of these per day/week, which takes employees and time. Maybe it's a thing a GM can easily do, but it's not like someone is hitting up the GM and saying "hey can you transfer me? Here's $30." The request is processed by employees, verified, and pushed down to the people who make it happen. That means Blizzard is on the hook for that time and resources to make it happen, which means they have to pay employees to do those jobs (among other jobs), which costs money.

I always feel like boosting is only great if you feel bored about your current class, character, you fancy a certain race or class and want to switch the end game character, continue on where your old char was. I have the best fix for the boosting character issue. Make the boost locked behind a level achievement. WoW retail = level 50 on any char to unlock a level boost for another char. TBC classic = 1 char must reach level 58 to unlock the boost. The boost can be bought before the level is reached but not used until the level achievement on the account.
was it that good if adding a boost was enough to kill for those who where already at max level lol. that seems to be the only people bitching about lol. people who are already max level crying about something that makes no difference to them.
The biggest benefit from levelling is not even mentioned. Skill. Growing with your character while it develops in XP and gear makes you better able to play it skillfully. Nobody that boosts a character can ever hope beat soneone whos grown their character naturally.

When are people going to realize the best and most enjoyable part of any game is the grid and leveling up , How can you have any pride in your character if you just buy it ? I mean it doesn't make you good buying boosts , It makes you good the more you play the game. When I played it back in 2011 I loved the grid , I couldn't wait to max out a character so I could start over on a alt.
This all seems so utterly alien to me. I walked away from WoW so long ago I can't remember the boost being an option, and now I'm playing FFXIV where the leveling experience is actually fun. It's like they're saying "give us money to take away a large chunk of the actual fun gameplay" and they might as well be speaking German for all I understand it.
It seems like MMO players hate the thought of other MMO players not having to suffer through playing the game like they had to. Crazy logic from everyone involved...
Let’s be real. This is just Blizzards attempt to make money from gold buying. 95% of people who were paying gold to boost characters was buying the gold. Anyone disagreeing is kidding themselves. This is blizzard saying “we can just offer it to make sure we are getting the money instead”. It’s greed simple as that. Call it smart business, but we all know why they’re doing it.
I wouldn't call what blizzard is doing smart business. They have managed to have one of the worst if not the worst reputation as a gaming company in our current days.
15-16 years ago in vanilla I don't remember anyone doing this mage boost powerleveling thing. Maybe I forgot but I don't recall that type of gameplay back then. Do you all remember if it was done then?
On the topic of saying the leveling in the game is bad so to "fix" it they added the boost to skip it. I agree with how destructive it is. Look at eso for example. The player base was dying because leveling just sucked balls. So they improved it byremoving the level requirements for quest and allowing the player to pick and choose what they wanted to do. Instead of doing half good quests and half shifty ones, you get to just do the good ones and reap the benefits for doing it.
ESO was doomed to fail the moment when they decided to make the came console friendly. You don't make mmos around a controller, you make mmos around mouse and keyboard. ESO was such a disappointment it's unbelievable.
People forget that WOTLK had the collectors edition which had an ingame pet. I own this but I guess after watching this video it's made me wonder if that was a test to see if any hype was around it
It did not come with a level boost though. That is the big difference. I always felt like the cosmetics being bought from blizzard, weren't really the end of the world. But now, the game is officially pay to win in retail. You legit can buy anything from blizzard now. I also feel like companies have done this for years. I remember getting ocarina of time collectors edition back in the day, getting stuff no one else had. But buying levels completely ruins the progression common to any rpg or mmorpg ever made. In classic, I think the Level boost was a bad thing overall, but it was 1 bad thing vs. thousands of bad things in retail. I also think that, to asmongolds credit, that people weren't exactly playing classic wow properly either. You had twitch streaming and all that shit that you didn't have back then. Min maxxers took it ten steps past what it already was. Like you better get to farming those world buffs and amazing trinkets if you want to be able to raid. Mage level boosting was rediculous to. Luckily in wrath classic, they nerfed xp gains when higher lvls are boosting party members. I also think that wrath classic made other good decisions, such as not having a dungeon finder, the first retail style feature ever added to the game. Not a fan of the level boost from blizzard or from third party websites of course, but they sure do have a lot of lazy wow players at that point, if you ask me. Because if it didn't work, they wouldn't do it. And madseason show might be right, that, in the future, every single cash shop service will be under the classic wow brand. But I am hoping he is wrong though. With cataclysm classic being talked about now, Blizzard needs to take a hard look at the game at this point. Because, unless they make some significant changes to the game, it won't really be classic wow anymore for me. Because it won't be good just with a lack of a dungeon finder. Things like homogenization of the classes, the removal of the old overworld, rpg elements being removed, such as ammo for hunters. The breath bar lasting longer. The classes being less complicated and the talent trees being less complicated and more streamlined and completely losing all the hybridity. Locking spells between each tree. Fire mages, only have fire spells. Frost mages only have frost spells. In wrath, you could pretty much use any spell in any spec you chose pretty much. Not having to buy weapon skills anymore, or go to a class trainer to train dual wield at level 20. All things that kind of sucked about cataclysm. I mean, it was fun at first, until they nerfed the fuck out of everything. Pandaria finished it off by adding another bad game design feature, in cross realm zones, removal of stat sticks for hunters, poison vials for rogues, and also made talent trees pretty much useless. 6 talent points is a pretty boring system. I think if they can fix all those problems in cataclysm classic and pandaria classic, then it shouldn't be to bad. But they cannot just release classic cataclysm, and just say it is the same game with no dungeon finder. All those things made cataclysm bad, and no one had to rely on mana anymore either. And adversity was gone for leveling to. They need to add that back also.
World of warcraft also has alot of other issues that cause it's downfall and decrease in popularity. Age being one of the big ones. Nostalgia is so skewed now. People say all the time that wrath classic is nostalgic, along with bc and classic wow, and I completely disagree. But, pieces of content, entertainment, etc. It does not last long at all anymore. People get bored pretty quickly. Wow was going to have some speed hurdles going forward regardless of what they do, in keeping it alive, going forward.
It’s kinda sad with the boost and mage powerleveling. The way we did it at the time when all our friends were playing WoW, was that once someone of us had a high lvl char, he would pull 4 other lowies through the dungeons, and then we did it the other way round. If we wanted, 5 people could do this and everyone could have every class on 60 in 2 weeks. Sad thing is if i wanted to to this today, it would be impossible, because no one i know plays anymore…
I've noticed when using cheats in any game is enjoyable in a game because it gives you a new experience to enjoy. This can be fun for a short while but you get bored easily as your cheat plays the majority of game for you. What's even the point of getting the game if you don't play it yourself? I feel cheats are best after you finish playing it normally. The argument that some people don't have enough time to play the game I say as someone who also lacks time for some games, is dumb as hell. If you don't have time to play a video game that's life's way of telling you shouldn't be playing this game. This doesn't mean you can't play games. You just need to play the ones you do have time for. I don't play muti-player action games because it takes too much time to get good enough at the game, know the levels and tricks. If you don't do this then your pretty much a bullet magnet. Not fun at all. It's not because I can't get good because before I had to work for a living I rocked at these games. But now I just don't have the time. I do just fine in MMO's because you can actually play at your own pace. You may not be the first to try out the new content but as I don't have as much time as some others anyway it's better to die less by watching vids on new raids and run with experienced players that know what they're doing works better with my more limited time. On average beat them on the first run with minimal deaths and move on to collecting my loot. I don't have to be the Top Dog in the game to still enjoy it and I feel confident enough in my skills that I don't drag the other players down. I get a lot that do. I feel the main reason so many people hate boosters is because nothing is more frustrating than doing a run with a max level tank or healer in an easy dungeon that has no idea what they're doing at all bringing wipe after wipe. We've all been there. Or a level 70 tank with level 35 gear. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! For all those who wish to boost. If you don't want grief for boosting then for heaven sake. Don't look like a booster by playing the game like you don't know wich end of the sword your holding to point towards the monsters. If no one can figure out your a booster then there will be no grief. I'll never boost myself because I find if you don't want to play a leveling game through leveling then your playing the wrong game. If you want a game you can play without a major time investment then I recommend sticking with cellphone games. They got you covered.
That kind of depends on the cheat, there's a number of games where I cheat because without cheating I can't access much of the game because that's how the game is designed(it's supposed to be "you do things differently in different playthroughs", I get that, but I like having everything too much :D)
The thing that gave me the go-ahead to grind like a no-life freak was the assumption that the grind would be respected. Do you really think I'd run Strath 32 times trying to get some bis gear to drop if I thought someone could pay money to get the same item instead? I absolutely would not.

Levelling is my favourite part of anything new in WoW coming out, I'm the type that stays in zones I've outlevelled just to finish all the quests
Edit: And I've genuinely never used any of my level boosts, I'd rather just get there myself. Shame I can't resell them to somebody that might use them

I always leveled with my brother but he was never willing to put in the same time as me
Its literally the worst part of the game in my opinion. The world is mostly empty and annoying to travel, the quests have like 5 variations, world pvp is a grief fest, and dungeons take forever to find. at least with raids you have a spectacle.
@@THRAKORZOD That the classic experience baby!

This is literally for people who know what they are doing and want to skip levelling. You will spot the people who never played a class before very very early so they wont get far either.
I dont get how wow community can be so salty over something that doesnt affect them hahaha
@@capitaldcolon1795 I think the biggest issue is the bottlers who now can skip right to the levels where they effect the economy the most. And that effects every single player
You think botters will pay 60€ for EACH ACCOUNT? Not quite sure about that. And even if: why you salty about prices dropping? You want to pay 120 gold for a primal air again?! If i can buy my mats cheap, wheres the problem in that? And you auction house flippers can even make MORE money because you just buy all the cheap shit and relist it at higher prices anyway. I think auction house flippers with "price fixing" hurt the economy way more than people who flood the market with cheap shit. And these people are real players, not botters.

It was more about simply not trusting Blizzard to make changes to the game.

I think battle passes are ok. There's almost no incentive to buy them if they don't give a competitive advantage. I've played multiple games that had them and never bought one.
Battle passes in most games are pretty cool actually, in dota for example the amount of stuff you get for 10$ once a year is insane
idk. i like battle passes
i played 2 months of classic as warlock and hit 60, did my first raid and got the warlock mount but the leveling was so fun having a decent guide on how to gear my self and what dungeons to do that was the part i really liked and the natural group looking in zones to kill an elite mob

Contrast this to now;
The gear you see them wearing, you've probably also seen something similarly powerful in a dungeon drop (not numbers wise obviously).

It’s sad that what you’re saying seems to be controversial
Love these hour long videos keep em coming
ive been lvling a priest solo im at lvl 28 right now
Instead of giving players a lvl boost, they should give out exp multipliers.
This is actually a good idea tbh. You'd still have to level / be part of world but you could get through the slog much faster. I like it.
@@laharlkent that doesn't punish bots, that punishes players for grinding. Bota dont give a fuck about low xp rates if they getting items. In wow classic i commonly would find the next zone too hard and be forced to grind in the current for levels and gear
Yeh but they can’t make money off of that so yah.

Sustaining an argument and explaining fallacies to Twitch chat:
And then the new raid comes out and it's called "METH" lmfao
Crazy how good blizzard is at destroying good things
was it that good if adding a boost was enough to kill for those who where already at max level lol. that seems to be the only people bitching about lol. people who are already max level crying about something that makes no difference to them.
He was right boys. Embrace the wow tokens, they'll come to hc and era too in one way or another.
18:00 love the honesty of recognizing when your own train of thought has derailed :P

I agree. I've never played an MMO but I'd feel so shitty if I bought my levels
When it comes to boosts. Unironically, they think they want a boost, but they don't.
Or there are people that want to play tbc but have no interest in replaying classic?
Don’t play lol
@@DirtyWizard334 well, yeah, I won't. I'm just gonna use my boost and play tbc.
The leveling from 1-60 after the TBC patch releases will be much faster than it is currently so I doubt many will buy the boost anyway.
Meanwhile they are giving away a game they could 100% sell
I wouldn't call what blizzard is doing smart business. They have managed to have one of the worst if not the worst reputation as a gaming company in our current days.
@@Dionisisdenis people bitch but they still play
58:00 it's like they tried putting out the fire with napalm 😂😂😂
id play both fresh and progression
31:00 exactly.. you're still playing and still have to deal with dying to me on your way to the dungeon every time XD
