    I have two large potted peace lilies that I've had for a decade or so and they had begun to decline so last year I re-potted them in fresh soil and set them out in the yard under a large tree for the summer. When I brought them in last fall they were the biggest best looking they have ever been. They were in fairly heavy shade under the tree as they don't handle direct sun at all. Really great low light house plant.

      I wasn't annoyed. I just thought it was strange stretching over the sink like that. I guess he's tall enough so it doesnt bother him, but my short arms can't reach past the sink like that. 😄😄

    Great timing! I'm looking at a peace lily over in the corner of my living room that we've had for years. Never knew what it was called. Took a quick check and I'm guessing there must be 6 or 8 plants in that one pot. It quit sending up flowers years ago. Time to locate some pots to split this thing up! Thanks!

    My peace lily is much smaller than yours. It used to be larger and flourished. Now it appears to be stunted with many of the larger leaves dying off and leaving behind the new growth behind. Slowly the smaller leaves are beginning to yellow. I suspect that it’s too crowded. Would it be a good time to separate and repot when 85% of the plant is regrowth and it’s Dec?

    Hi. Love the fake bloom hack!!!
    So i have this peace lily for over a month now! I had been watering it when the soil felt dry i.e every 6th day or so. Recently it started to droop within 4 days of watering and the soil was dry. So assuming its hot (we live in SoCal) id water it and it would pump up straight! Also some of the baby leaves have been going yellow. I can now see a few roots growing up to the surface though the plant has still not grown that big. Should i repot it?

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  5 років тому +1

      Hi thank you for the question! What kind of soil do you have the peace lily in and also do you think that the pot is too small? I would doubt that you need to repot unless it's extremely constricted.. it may be a combination of heat and sun, find a shaded location to put it in and see how it does there if it's in any direct sunlight that will dry out the pot very quickly and be hard on the peace lily, they like to be in the shade

    So I was wondering if you’d give me any tips on saving my peace lily. I got it for my birthday this June 2018 it’s almost December and it has been having browning of the leaves it looks like it’s getting new growth so I’m not sure about that. It has been very droopy for about a month now. I let it sit in water thinking it was thirsty and the leaves raised up a bit, not much tho.
    I just moved it to a darker room and I’m letting the soil dried out to see any improvements. It also has gnats and saw small mushroom growing on the pot.
    Any suggestions tips or ideas will be great 👍

      How much direct light is it getting? What's your watering schedule? What kind of a pot is it in?

    • @oa1986
      @oa1986 6 років тому

      Wisconsin Wonder Garden less then an hour of direct sunlight to part of the plant it’s in a black container 6-8 inches in diameter I water it twice a week since it’s cold in Southern California , for now it be less I also give it that plant food miracle grow all purpose plant food every 2 weeks

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  6 років тому +1

      @@oa1986 but then decent ambient lighting for the rest of the day? Don't move it to a darker room but just watch for burn. The Browning in your leaves are most likely from over watering. Don't water untill the soil is quite dry and many people even recommend to wait untill the leaves just start to wilt a tiny but. Usually once every week is more than enough. It also might need a larger pot and cut out some of the fertilizer, they don't need full dosing, usually half or quarter is fine, this may be why you're seeing other unwanted growth from mushrooms etc.
