I have two large potted peace lilies that I've had for a decade or so and they had begun to decline so last year I re-potted them in fresh soil and set them out in the yard under a large tree for the summer. Hi thank you for the question! What kind of soil do you have the peace lily in and also do you think that the pot is too small? So I was wondering if you’d give me any tips on saving my peace lily. I got it for my birthday this June 2018 it’s almost December and it has been having browning of the leaves it looks like it’s getting new growth so I’m not sure about that. It has been very droopy for about a month now. I let it sit in water thinking it was thirsty and the leaves raised up a bit, not much tho. I just moved it to a darker room and I’m letting the soil dried out to see any improvements. It also has gnats and saw small mushroom growing on the pot. Any suggestions tips or ideas will be great 👍
Wisconsin Wonder Garden less then an hour of direct sunlight to part of the plant it’s in a black container 6-8 inches in diameter I water it twice a week since it’s cold in Southern California , for now it be less I also give it that plant food miracle grow all purpose plant food every 2 weeks
@@oa1986 but then decent ambient lighting for the rest of the day? Don't move it to a darker room but just watch for burn. The Browning in your leaves are most likely from over watering. Don't water untill the soil is quite dry and many people even recommend to wait untill the leaves just start to wilt a tiny but. Usually once every week is more than enough. It also might need a larger pot and cut out some of the fertilizer, they don't need full dosing, usually half or quarter is fine, this may be why you're seeing other unwanted growth from mushrooms etc.

is it like so if this plant is initially grown in soil. And then if one removes the soil and try to grow it in water , then it won't grow?? As i have done the same thing. Will it grow and flower?
No, they can be swapped back and forth between growing mediums but can put a lot of stress on the plant.
Is it true they go into shock after division ?
They sure do! This thing looked like it spent a few minutes in the oven throughout it's first week after being propagated.
Use some of the same soil from the one you took it from. Should help.
@@teresacarmona8313 as long as it was the correct type of soil in the first place :p Whenever planting anything it's very important to make sure the soil composition is ideal for the plants needs.
That’s awesome
Can't believe you didn't have a place to do it ...if you were my husband I'd have a fit doing it over the sink!!😂😂😂😂😂
We have plenty of places to do it lol just wanted to do it right there instead of moving everything :p
My wife would go mad as well doing this over the sink 😄😄😄😄😄😃😃😃
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
Any suggestions tips or ideas will be great 👍
How much direct light is it getting? What's your watering schedule? What kind of a pot is it in?
@@oa1986 try to find out what kind of gnats they are and then Google a remedy asap
Wisconsin Wonder Garden thanks 🙏 I’ll see to it and hopefully it comes back to life.
