Took it to my kitchen sink and water it if it were dry, finally I guess that he wanted to rest i Took it out in my backyard and buried it.

Yeah/Right..... I'm a roughneck, construction guy who just happens to like plants at home, indoors and outdoors. My mother is the Peace Lily Queen and they bloom (potted or not) at her command. It took her 30 years to teach me these basic steps. LEAVE THEM ALONE! I currently have 4 Peace Lillies and they DO NOT care for you to read to them, bless them, stare at them, or touch them. Currently, my 4 share 27 blooms and I learned that they love red neck love. Indoors, between 69-71 degrees, SE window, 4 foot fluorescent light with grow light bulbs, one filter full of used coffee grinds every 6 weeks (Dunking Dark), and every 5-7 days water till it runs out of the bottom. Other than that, they don't want me to look at them on my way by. Of the 4, 3 of them are over 30 years old and 3 generations. The 4th is a Lowes plant that's 6-7 and a hybrid.

My peace lily is my most forgiving of all of my plants. It has grown enormously I've had to repot it every year, and it is now a floor plant. Humidity is very low in my apartment (in the winter it can get below 20%) and I forget to water it all the time. It can go weeks without water. I've also kept it in a spot that literally doesn't get sunlight at all. Despite all of this, it blooms every year and look very healthy. I have now moved it to a spot where it gets more light, so I am very courious to see what happens. Maybe it doesn't like it? We'll see.

You covered it quite well. I would add that since Spathiphyllums have vigorous root systems, (as shown herein), potting them in large pots encourages them to grow bigger, remain healthy and also reduces the likelihood of them drying out and wilting. If one wants to restrict the pot size you can periodically divide the plant, (as shown herein). Alternatively one can repot by pruning about 1/3 of the roots off the root ball and refreshing the soil mix with new soil. When keeping Spathiphyllums in smallish pots it’s a good idea to leech the soil every few months to flush out salts / mineral buildup that can damage plant tissues.

I wonder if you could tell me what I did wrong with my peace lily, which I owned for over 15 years. It was beautiful, but I thought it had overgrown the pot it was planted, as well as the soil was used up and old. So I bought a bag of container soil, and transferred the plant to its new pot. I was surprised to find out that there were about 8 plants, as I transferred them. Well, the next day, they were all droopy, and never recovered. Several months later, I finally pulled them out of the soil yesterday, cut all the brown leaves (no green left anyways), and stuck the root pieces in water. Still hoping for a miracle.

They had a near-death experience during a move 3 years ago, and I've been nursing them back to health ever since. One thing I've noticed is if you want big growth, you need light. I have a grow light on both of mine and they have started to bloom for the first time since their accident! They used to be in 5+ gallon pots, and now they're in a 10in and an 8in. Thank you for this video!
My peace lily was the first plant I was gifted when I returned to my home country about a decade ago. It flowered beautifully the first year I had it and then for the last 6 years it has, and I'm sure it was out of spite, refused to respond to whatever care I gave it. Then two years ago it started to look terrible, it clearly was not happy and the leaves wilted and turned brown. I repotted with fresh soil, positioned it in what should have been the correct light and it just got worse and worse.
Eventually when I was ready to throw it away my partner repotted it again and put it outside (what!?) with our clivia's (indigenous to my country South Africa and also shade loving) and it is now thriving and flowered for the first time again last month. Its only one lonely flower but somehow my indoor peace lily wants to be outside! Thankfully where I live in South Africa is considered a horticultural zone 1(coastal summer rainfall. Frost free, minimum temperature for coldest month: 5°C to 10°C)
This video has given me a ton of extra information that I am looking forward to putting into practice so thank you :)

I have two very large ones in a plastic decorative pot. Together they are 3 feet tall and almost 6 feet wide. They are 9 years old this year and came off my mothers original that was almost 16 years old when it died. Our house humidity is around 60% year round due to 6 large aquariums we have. They are in a south facing window with a growlight on a 12 hour timer. I keep the soil wet, a tray of constantly wet pebbles underneath and sphagnum moss covering the soil.

I love your videos!!! I have learned so much. I also love Peace Lilies. They were my introduction to Aroids and have done very well for me. I live in the S.E. and have only had 2 bad(ish) experiences. Once I put a Peace Lily on my front porch for re-potting on a dry day, got distracted, and the next thing I knew it was dead. :-( Totally my fault. More recently I was taking apart one of those fancy flower arrangements. Part of it was a small Peace Lily (which I'm sure I had over-watered). It was potted in coconut coir and probably had root rot. I re-potted it in a normal potting mix, but it still was not thriving. It may seem cruel, but I watered it with hydrogen peroxide for a couple of months, and it totally sprang back to health. Now I am watering and fertilizing it in the normal fashion, and it is sending up inflorescence after inflorescence... a very happy ending. Meanwhile, the large Peace Lily in my dining room really, really, really needs to be divided, but I think I'll wait till Spring.

Hi, I've been watching your videos lately, and I'm enjoying it so far...i just noticed that you haven't featured one of my favorite fern w/c is the foxtail, i like it because it's so soft to the touch...I'm from the Philippines & I haven't seen any of those here in the US...& i just want to say that most of the house plants here(that are so costly), just grow abundantly in the our country specially the snake plants & a number of plants that we only consider as weeds are so precious here...I'm not really a fan of house plants "before" since i come from a tropical country, so I'm more on landscaping my outdoor garden & I'm used to watering my plants 2times a day, so i struggled when i moved here to the US when i started having house plants where i have to reorient myself w/ plants that can thrive in the changing seasons & not to mention the variety of soil needed...well more power to you & looking forward to more interesting videos from you😊...oh & i more thing, you look like one of our local celebrity, her name is Asunta de Rossi😁

I recently got my first peace lily, and it’s growing new leaves and all. However, it has shown dry tips, and the internet says it’s due to inconsistent watering, too much watering, too little watering, etc. i’m not going to change how i water it just yet, we’ll see how it goes. It’s my first house plant, so i’m really stocking up on all the info i can get

Put my peace lily in an east facing window in the summer where it was getting 6hrs of direct light and it burned and died. Now my new peace lillies sits on the floor and it's thriving because it only gets indirect light. The thing I'm struggling with is yellowing leaves after watering. I'm using distilled water but I think I might just be letting it get too dry before watering (it's usually full droop limp when I do water) and the yellowing is due to stress.

That just sounds like you’ve got house plants, so I’m guessing you haven’t just got a few plants in your room, you’ve actually filled half your room with soil 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve never seen an indoor garden so I’m trying to picture it. All I can imagine is you’ve filled half the room with soil and you’re slowly filling it up with plants 🤷🏻‍♀️ it looks good in my imagination anyway ☺️

0:42 Ah yes, I see the Philippines highlighted in the map. My peace lily just sprouted new leaves and they bring me a lot of joy.
6:26 Yes, heat is not that big of an issue. When they were given to me, the leaves were narrow and had black spots on the sides. I thought the plant was going to die. I have been keeping it outdoors and just leave it there no matter the weather. It gets a lot of sun and rain. Now, it is sprouting new, healthy, wide, beautiful leaves.

I'm really new to plants, but so far I've been able to keep mine alive for three months. I keep it in my room with an LED light that turns on an off everyday. Before this video I wouldn't think it's a hard plant to keep, honestly. You just have to remember to water it, and by water I mean dunk that plant in water every week. I don't water it more than that, but that's because it's passed it's blooming stage. When it starts to bloom I'll probably have to water it more. It's honestly a nice plant to have, and a bit of a drama queen when you're late on the watering.

Mine has some brown in it.
I took them out of the ground and loosened up the roots I did break up some of the brown but I didn't fully remove it.
It did have a ton more white roots but way smaller or very thin and extra long.
There was black roots and I removed those but it could of been the black mesh I used as a bed for mulch.
I reported it in all purpose soil from Lowes.
I put them in a much less direct sunlight.
They seem to be doing much better now it's been over 2 days.
They still look like they're having a bad hair day.
I'm not giving up on them.

I’m a new plant mom. My peace lily needs repotting and I ran across your video. I loved the details you provided. I especially love your mix. I think I have most of the ingredients just from researching from other sites I follow. I purchased coco coir chips. Can I use that instead of the brick? Had I found you first, I wouldn’t have been so afraid of the brick. Also, can I make a large qty or is it best to mix only what you need? I’m going to search for how you added this to repot the peace lily. God bless you for sharing your knowledge. I hope to hear back from you soon.

I have a Beautiful Peace Lilly I had for years, given to me by a really good friend. And it is Absolutely Beautiful. Thank God Almighty I listen to you because I didn't know that it is toxic to dogs. That is so Scary. Because I had it in the bottom shelf of an end table that she really Loves .So now I removed it from there because I have pets. The Peace Lilly is also a Great healer of plants. I had a Prayer Plant that I almost killed trying to spray for bugs and the concentrate was to strong and I wanted to just die because it went from a Beautiful full plant to a couple of pale leaves. So I thought going it to the Peace Lilly to take care of and soon the Prayer Plant started to get better. Another story about my Peace Lilly, A friend give my this Peace Lilly from his plant he had with 3 little leaves on it and never seen to want to do much else. Well I started an interest in orchids , the small ones and I put the Orchids next to the Peace Lilly,. They fell in love with each other and the Peace Lilly started growing more leaves and it is so full now. And Yes she does droop and looks so sad when she needs water. Thank you for your informative video. I saved your video. Thank you for your time 🌾🌻🌹🥀🌹🌾🌱

My care is simple: right after I bought a Peace Lily pot with soil, I put half -> 3/4 pot into water inside another pot storing water & leave it like that. The plant loves much water without Clo2 so I use waste water from RO water. The plant is Super health this way with bright light+warm weather+humidity , however it sucks Water too fast so I need to add more water every 3 days (of course never put this plant under water completely). BTW my friends spiders help me take care of the plant by eating up fungus gnats, (no chemistry required).
