Linda Ronstadt once said the real music of the world is played in the garages, alleys and small venues. This is testimony to that truth
Absolutely.
True as one who has done 100's of musical open Mics practicing standup comedy ( ones that welcomed me ) I've seen many a wonderful talent performing music including subway stations in NYC!
Probably the best comment of the 100’s I’ve read on the F&F channel.
maybe so. But this is also a nice statement for what remains of UA-cam, that once great and virtuous giant of internet free expression until Google agenda swept down with it's bag of money. Yet still, art and beauty remain "mostly" accessible. And although it is now deliberately censored for a number of other purposes, we can hope that these two beautiful young ladies are unobstructed examples of their kind, instead of being able to know it. Yes, Linda Ronstadt . . such a great example from her time. Her remake of Heatwave one of the greatest, most energetic re-do's ever! No garage could keep her. And we needed no world wide web to find her, love her, or remember her forever.
The music industry helped destroy itself. I just turned 60 when I was in my 20’s ( this is fact not a looking back thing) I could see bands in small venues with minimum amplification. The late 70’s saw the start of sporting ovals as venues. In its bid make millions out of 1 concert, the industry destroyed itself, just no way is that an honest concert .I know where this place is, haven’t been there. I was actually surprised when I found out.
RIP Scott, enjoyed your music for years. You left us much to early.
🙏 amen
😔 RIP. See-hear you later, I hppe.
I'm so sorry, so so many are leaving us far to early.
Definitely a huge loss . Go's bless Scott and his family and friends
I didn't know he died! No wonder I haven't seen him on any videos the past year or so.
2024 and still watching this. 😊
I just don't understand how people can pass by with disinterest in the background? I would have stood mesmerised as those harmomies just filled the car park behind ♥
These vocal harmonies are like a warm knife going through butter
I agree with this statement: "This ain’t no garage band. These people are musicians."
I would pay money to see them sing in person if they ever came to TN near where I live
Rip scotty looks like a great guy that we'd all like to have as a friend
Winners of the 2021 best cover band award.
Also 2010 through 2020.

They are just such a pleasure to listen to. They capture what I like about the original but still make it their own.
OBSERVATION 1:37 THROUGH 1:44 is absolutely the most angelic voices harmonizing ive ever heard
R.I.P. Scott, from Holland.
The girls have grown up. This song is kind of about them. The people have gotten older and moved on.
It sure is great music. Bless their souls.
Fun to look back at this one and also be able to watch the one from 9 years later.
Still my favorite cover ever. I love the girls voice that does lead vocals, and when they harmonize together.. ugh.. pure beauty 😍
Ditto and 🙏 🙏 🙏 Amen 🙏
Maggie Adam is the Lead Singer, and Sammy is the harmony alone with Her Dad.
It has pitch correction.
@@jortepaphow do you know
Hey People! Keep in mind that these folks are doing their covers live, without the benefit of studios and sound mix equipment. The fact that they are always spot on underscores their natural chemistry. They have other lives, and they choose to be what they are. Just listen and enjoy the fruits of their efforts.
It's recorded live, off the sound board, but is remixed ,EQ,etc to make it sound the best it can be before matching it to the video. Toby set up the mix for the live audience at these earlier gigs.
Yep . No do over!
👍🏻. Fantastic Band…. Especially their Crosby Stills Nash & Young covers…
LET’S GO BRANDON !!

Congratulations Foxes and Fossils for cover of LANDSLIDE surpassing 3 Million UA-cam views!!!!!
Well, in fairness, 2.9 million of those were me.
Scott is definitely going to be missed. Such a talented man, gone way too soon. Rest in Paradise, my friend in music...
I can't watch this without crying, and that was true before the news of Scott's passing. There is beauty in this performance that is as ageless as the words of the lyrics.
Scott will surely be missed, but thankfully, he left us performances such as this. His spirit and music will live on!
So sorry to hear. I have loved this performance and play it often
Scott's talent will be missed but the love he has for the music will live on in videos like this
Never knew he passed away
I love Maggie’s voice, but I don’t think it would move me so much if she didn’t have such a beautiful spirit. 😊
I don't believe I've ever heard two women's voices blend so beautifully and seamlessly.
That lead is good...but Sammie brings it out perfectly
All due respect... ua-cam.com/video/JpalNYfV-tI/v-deo.html
don't get out much, do ya.

braindead905 Sammy’s harmony at 1:39 i must have replayed 10 times.
1:32 Harmony absolutely angelic and breathtaking
Holy Crap that was awesome. Sammy's back-up sealed the deal.
I hope that audience appreciates the talent they had in front of them.
Given that most present were friends and family, that was likely the case.
The mandolin really changes the presentation of this classic. Maggie and Sammie work so well together. Pure beauty and skill.
Father and daughter singing together. That is special.
the girls are amazing and Dad can sing too, wow
What a very lucky father!!
Scott passed in January. What a great talent, much missed. Tears.😪
Tears!!
Missin the mad mandolin skills. Glad I revisited this one.
Harmony is perfect, America’s greatest parking lot band! Great musicians
edward mcguire you nailed it...should be...THE PARKING LOT BAND...maybe they need a manager..❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦
When Stevie Nicks makes it a point to comment on her Face Book page about how good this performance was, that's when you know how good of a band you are....
I Couldn't find it. Can you give us a link to the comment or tell us what Stevie said? Thanks
Link!
Link.... Right meow!!!!
Oh fuck off Rebecca she did not say that.
lovely, 65 here, this is a good one....this group has so many good songs...
Simply amazing. From the mandolin to the perfect harmonies.
Maggie is a GEM of a singer. Sammie does well also. This is great! What a band. They can cover anything.
The singing and harmonies on this alone is worth a standing ovation.. never heard a live version done so well.. thank you!
Mike T The Dixie Chicks did a beautiful covers of this song too.

Harmonising master class
Pitch correction. Without a doubt.
Maggie has such a pure perfect voice. And what great harmony from Sammy !
Scott... What a wonderfully talented man. Always in the pocket, always with a smile. I will miss you my dear unknown friend. When we're old and grey....... And I will miss you.
Today's youth are being ripped off with auto tune. This is REAL music! So well done!
Unfortunately, you’ve been fooled. They’ve without a doubt used pitch correction. Pitch correction creates that sharp sounding vocal tone when harmonies are sang. It’s a shame, I’d much rather hear this song sung with a raw, natural, imperfect voice.
@@trevorwoolley7432 why are you so sure that they are using pitch correction? I believe that Tim has indicated that they dont.
@@trevorwoolley7432 jealous?
@@trevorwoolley7432 that's just Sammie's voice that you're hearing.
2022…God bless the person who recorded/filmed/mixed these early F&F performances. I’ve been watching these for years. I don’t know why, but whenever I’m feeling like it’s not worth it, I watch these old F&F vids, and they give me hope. Peace.
I agree , these moments were captured by excellent camera , work, they can't be repeated but can be watched again and again. Just perfect...
@@ashleyrosevear4319 thank you for replying to my comment. Glad that we have had similar thoughts about F&F. Merry Christmas.

I remember going to twisted taco to watch foxes and fossils and then buying a dessert fully in quarters. Good memories
Now that’s what I call music. Who’s listening in 2019?

And those women talking....really?

In Canada. Immense talent.
Maggie and Sammy are treasures. The fossils are archeological miracles
I can dig it!
Archeological miracles" - I love it
This is outdoors on a restaurant patio with maybe 10 ppl actually listening. Just wow.
This just doesn't seem to get old.
Not an easy task following Stevie Nicks and Natalie Maines, but you ladies knocked it out of the park.
It would almost be pretentious to do so, unless you have your own beautiful and interesting voice.. like these sublime examples.
George M when l here this group l cry
::::Looks up, watches the ball fly way overhead:::::...well said.
110% agree
They're not following, they're leading!
I don't think many people say this, but that bass player is spot on.
On "Early Morning Rain" he played drums and bass at the same time.
He plays the drums too.
@@PhilGeissler Every person in this group has multiple musical talents. Every one of them can sing well, they just use the best singers the most.
@Al Dunn he's the Billy Zoom of Bass players. So 😎
Some of the mist beautiful harmonies I have heard
Just as amazing now as it was nine years ago when this video was posted!
I’ve been gigging for 40 plus years and I have rarely heard live performances as good as this. This band should be playing some huge venues. They are definitely as good as the original artists if not better. That crowd has no idea what gifted artists they are listening to.
I agree...Crowd is AWFUL!!
Come to Buffalo,NY we''ll break out the Bills Mafia
and you'll hear a ROARING Ovation!!
Questioning whether or not the crowd has much understanding and appreciation of what they're experiencing has been asked by a number of people. I have to hope that a few of them truly comprehended just how gifted this group really is.
Hell yeah they freaking rock
@sevdiomedes Patio of Twisted Taco.Maybe 25 there.
FiremanOly well we know who we’re listening to..luv them...🇨🇦🇨🇦
OM freakin G the girls harmonies are a privilege to listen to.
The man (dad?) seems to be overlooked. His low harmonies on all of these songs is as important as either of the girls’. It is often overlooked but you would miss it if it were gone. You guys are great. I have played in bands for 30 years and am a perfectionist. You guys got IT!
The two girls voices gave me goosebumps 😭 loved every bit of it.
I wish I could (re) hit the like button every time I listen to this
I think it's safe to say that this is the best music ever performed in a car park. I feel sorry for people that don't have hairs on their arms......goosebumps are through the roof.
I think it’s a Mexican restaurant in Smyrna.
The audience sucks there. Are they deaf? I hate when a great band isn't appreciated.
@wesrager5181 if it is in Smyrna, it's a Tokyo Sushi and Steak house now. What a treat to get to hear this type of performance in such an obscure place. The people were lucky that day.
I had a friend who passed away recently. He was a piano tuner to many bands in the 70s including Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt and Fleetwood Mac....he even played keyboards for Fleetwood Mac during a few studio recordings of their songs. He had many memories of the band that he loved to tell over and over again. I'm channeling my buddy Jeff while listening to you. Thanks for the good vibes F&F. They are appreciated more than you may know....
Omg! Pure honesty!
The way music as a true art form is supposed to be done.
No bull$h1t. Just telling the story with ❤
Excellent F&F!
Thank you for keeping it real!
Maggie Adams has the voice of an angel! They all do. This band should be on the road filling large venues! I'm so glad they're successful on UA-cam!
Maggie and Sammie bounce off each other so well and Tim's voice can match them both pretty well...Nice Harmony Kids!!!
I have no idea how many times I've listened to this particular recording, but the mix of Johnny on the bass and Scott's amazing mandolin along with Toby's usual lead perfection... then the vocal harmonies... yeah, you guys made a grown man's eyes leak. Thank you for recording and sharing this.
Ya'll have done justice to this classic.Enjoyed it immensely!🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
I know it’s 7years old but great cover folks. I’m grateful someone caught it on camera.
There are several songs from this 2013 concert. They performed maybe a half dozen times each year, and Tim arranged for one each year to be properly video recorded. The 2011, 2012 and 2013 shows are at this little strip mall taco shop near where they lived. Seating, maybe 20.
Heavenly harmonies. The people sitting at the tables have no idea how great of a band they were listening to that day.
What makes F & F different from everyone else is the cross generational makeup of ages and talent. You don't feel the negative drama from this group that follows so many other bands. You just get the feeling that they like playing together and realize that for this to work they know they need each others talent. What a gift to hear them! We are blessed as long as they sing together.
Prayers for Scott and his Family…Dealing with heartbreak.
Watching Scott here brought a tear to my eye. RIP.
Whoever fit this band together is a genius.
That would be Tim.See foxesandfossils.com "about us" for the story of how it all began.
@@lynwessel2471 Thanx
Wow...Maggie slayed that song and Sammie and Tim threw in perfect harmonies to back her up. You're all fantastic together and individually. Very impressive performance.
They made it better than the original cus it is way more a positive flow. Wow wow wow just woOow 🥰🥰🥰🥰
How can anyone be sitting there and eating food when the music is so captivating it consumes everything.
Most of them are friends and family of the band members. See "Ho Hey", filmed the same day.
Wow, who are these people and why isn’t everyone in the audience appreciating the level of talent from everyone in this musical collective? This the 4-5th song I’ve watched them absolutely nail, what a treat
See foxesandfossils.com for bios and"about us". 65+ great covers on Tim's channel, they post a new one about once a month.(click on the round pic above.)virtual tip jar at the end of the video if you'd like to send them something.
Most of the audience of about 20-25 are friends and family members of the band. Some of them join the musicians onstage for the "Ho Hey" video.
My new favourite band! Just want to smack the audience upside their heads for not seeing the talent in front of them!
I know, eh? Typical dining audience, but even so, how are they so blase about hearing near-perfection on a frigging PATIO?! Artist evaluation is sort of my business, and long ago I learned that the average person can't actually tell the difference between mediocre and flawless. They can perceive it, but they have no idea what the difference is and sometimes don't notice it. Either that or these folks are taking them for granted.
Millennials.
Whenever I watch F&F I somehow feel better - for just a little while. Can’t explain it.
no explanation...it is good music.
The three part harmonies around 1:50... my lord - unbelievable musicianship!
A beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. And the girls are beautiful too, while the guys are .... beautiful in spirit 🙂
The harmonies are amazing! These voices are straight from heaven!

Just found these folks at the age of 63.
You get what you pay for folks and it is with a pang of pain that I realize I will never again experience all the wild music that came out _every single week._
I never thought for a second that it would change. I never thought I would be listening to music from another century!
You get what you pay for folks so, if you like this band-pay them. Or just click "like".
Cheers, from Toronto ☮
I'm a little reticent about posting comments, but I felt compelled in the case of F&F. I just found F&F early in 2020 (I think it was Harvest Moon, a song I didn't know well at all, but may be my favorite). They are magnificent. I love all the instrumentalists. And the foxes are absolutely amazing in harmonies. This song is great, too. Maggie and Sammie are tremendous throughout, but I often find myself stopping in the middle and listening to the nice voice movements from about 1:32-1:44 - I like repeating those few seconds several times; the repetitions later are not identical. Chase (not featured here, of course) is just as good, and a great addition. Tim, must be a genius to put this together, and he can really sing, too. I would love to see them in person.
Did you know that this cover itself has been covered? Sina Doering (sina-drums) is a drummer in Germany who collaborates with other artists, and has over 1,000,000 subscribers. A few months ago, she released a version of "Landslide" based on the F&F version. Read the full pinned comment by Juliet P on this video (ua-cam.com/video/NSumoziK5Kw/v-deo.html) for the complete story. All the other ladies on that video have their own channels and are also worth watching. Sina contributed a new drum part for the video, and has several hundred drum covers and originals to her credit, really one of the world's foremost young drummers today.

Literally just hearing them and this for the first time. I don't generally like covers much but they did great!
It is as though the girls can read each others minds ,their harmonies are so perfect.
It's too bad that the audience in the restaurant wasn't really paying attention. I know I'd have had to stop whatever I was doing and just listen. The harmonies are so gorgeous. Would have stopped me dead in my tracks.
GeroLubovnik - I concur. Once they started playing their music, anything else would only be a distant distraction. They are a real good group of ordinary people. Did y'all se their smiles of genuine fun at the finish of the song?
If is like what we always dealt with when we would play most Venues, the closest table to the Band was always either Family, Girlfriends or just Roadies and best Friends. I think you are being too rough by judging them. And trust me, the owner of the Venue loves having the business which is what the Band is supposed to generate. Trust me, everyone is there because they want to be.
I'd love to hear them do it NOW. Wouldn't that be great??
Absolutely. It's amazing that the audience seems so unimpressed. I'm pretty sure their reaction to CSN on stage would have been the same.
Those girls are perfect harmony... couldn't get better!
2020 is here and they still sound amazing.
