I personally want a pokemon legends kanto or hear me out legends galar during the darkest day dark ages, or a dungeons and dragons look/ middle earth pokemon game. Like kinda how the the vibes of the Lucario and sir aron movie is. I think that would cook so hard. Like skyrim but pokemons take on it
One of the best aspect of PLA was that it just felt way more modern than any of the recent mainline games. It was not tied down by the slow tried and true RPG system we have had for the last 2 decades. It was just nice to have a Pokemon game that felt like it had QoL features you expect out of a brand new games.
I think something we've overlooked is that Lumiose in LZA is going to be like Majoras Mask. Main city with segmented areas, sewers/catacombs, a surrounding outside area with some wild are and some highlight buildings.
Legends Un Un Un! Sign me up! Lumi you were on a roll with the humor, had me laughing. Great episode & discussion with JPR one of the most creative Pokémon video creators on the platform, it’s always really cool seeing these connections made as a viewer between channels I’ve watched for so long. 🔥
There's been lots of time travel in Pokemon recently. What if Z-A means the future to the past. A being the past. Z being future (today). And it's also a play on word for AZ who will be a prominent figure in this story. The character is travelling to the past to solve mysteries that can help resolve issues in the future... maybe to help the city run correctly.
I’m not sure who already had this idea, but what if we start ZA in the future but go back in time to unlock/build things for the future? So we go between times as if the city was in a space-time distortion. Similar to how the new FNAF game functions
If we keep supporting legends we will prolly see all regions over the years. What i would like to see is the lore explored more in depth in these games
Jouto would be perfect because the traditions in the region. Like Legends: Arceus and HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Generation 4 art style would have to be used.
I've been saying this since day 1. ZA is going to have you jumping form the past to the present or future. It was a big theme for SV the past and future so it fits with gen 9's themes. The logo look on the trailer that looks like a team logo reminds me of a wormhole or portal. I think the gameplay loop is be making choices for city planning in the past that swaps biomes and spawn lists for the city in the future section of the game.
1:20:52 There is actually a very famous, mostly broken wall that exists in mainland Britain. I don’t remember what it’s called, but Robin Hood steps over it in the old Robin Hood movie when he comes back to England
One thought I had about ZA is that the progression might be something like the "Good/Bad Future" mechanic in Sonic CD, where you have to go into each area and solve a people/Pokémon conflict to create a more balanced outcome.
SS Ann can get out. the cycle road is a down slope but also part of it is bridge that opens up. Its shown in the anime put also its a reference to a real life kanto tunnel. The bridge has a shadow which implies you can go under it
The game will likely take place after the ultimate weapon was fired the first time because it was successful and we know it did a lot of damage. The second time the weapon fired it wasn’t at full power and didn’t do much damage in game so we rebuild lumiose after az destroyed hence the title being his name in reverse
1:20:39 Galar is completly messed up in terms of where cities are related to eachother if youre taking in account real life but yes there is a wall to the north! Hadrian's wall
Thanks for the amazing guest. Fun theory: in gen 9 they did a DLC in Kitakami, region close to former Hisui, to justify Pokémon from Legends Arceus. By analogy in gen 10 the candidate for a DLC that would justify the introduction of mons from what will be then the last Legends game, Z-A, should be the southern part of France, just below Kalos.
I hope with the legends series that they keep it flow very freely. The type of games, The eras the games takes place. The legends I hope is solely that it revolves around the legendary pokemon.
I'm curious how you'd feel about a Pokémon Legends Lugia that is based on the Orange Islands arc in the anime (or at least the locations-it could still be set in the past). It would be structurally different since there would be more (probably smaller) areas, and the climax would obviously be based on the events in the second movie.
whatIF - the game has us constructing a version of Lumiose City that we are not familiar with; perhaps a larger version that contains or impacts wild areas. Because of this Zygarde confronts us/retaliates and we end up with a smaller version of the city which is the one we know today in modern times.
I believe THIS legends game being in the future will pivot the idea of the legends series from legends meaning past to legends meaning the story behind a LEGENDARY pokemon. They are legends. This is why both are based around a legend pokemon. I think they are implying that these will not be legends zoroa down the line or legends lake of rage, or legends Castelia City. It will only go through lore of legendary pokemon.
I think for the fact legends was not ancient times but instead a hundred years ago and it being called aa village that the reconstruction of a CITY is WAY more modern. It is also more expanded than what we saw in x and y. So from the trainer alone it is implying we are playing in the future. Will they still jump back to the past like with legends where arceus took the main character from the modern age to the past? maybe. Maybe they felt there was no reason to be a present day person taken back to the past so now they may jump backwards and forwards? Why did they have a time difference? IDK.
what if you are a bad guy and you are catching pokemon to let them loose outside so you can build a city and a wall to keep them out. This is the future of pokemon. Segregation.
Also arceus takes place in the present and you are sent to the past. It is wild we are not sent back to the present at the end. We are just alice in wonderland and forever stuck in the dream land. Frightening. Also says that arceus may completely be fake.
maybe this is why ingo is there. You see the train station attendant your first day moving from unova to sinnoh. You now are dreaming about everything in arceus. Maybe this is why the catching mechanics are different. It is abnormal to reality.
arceus takes place like a hundred or 2 hundred years ago near the industrial revolution era. It is wild all the old forms of mons are just exstinct? and the starter lines from diamond went from plentiful to RARE in 100 hundred years. It is not real evolution lol.
The Pokémon series and games have always been separate. The series directors took creative liberties when it came to the show and the games would always come before the show. But the games would inspire the show. Not the other way around.
And no matter which way it would have been, Zygarde would have had much bigger role of course, and I could bet money that while they would have technically been called X2/Y2, the logo would have basically been XZ/YZ as 2 and Z have similar shapes.
The argument about the architecture being connected to the real redevelopment of Paris around the same time as legends is a bad point to be made for ZA taking place in the past. While this Napoleonic era info is true, it only proves it is any time AFTER it was built. Paris still has this architecture today. The future Paris should also have this architecture. even when remodeling they would try and keep it in this style. Also any time this architecture is shown it is also in shot with a boy with a ball cap on. This again says it is the modern time or future. Again not saying it for sure will take place then but if the clues in the teaser are to be believed to be showing when it takes place, it isn't in the past.(even though legends technically also takes place in the present and you immediately get sent to the past. This fully could happen but we would have to admit the trailer of being misleading if it does take place in the past.)
Yeah, pokemon is not great at truely telling stories so they keep things SUPER loose so they can't get caught in plot holes. Even though they already have gotten caught in MANY of them and thus had to fake the different timeline theory. Just like marvel and dc did with various characters.
Thanks for having me gang!! It was a great time!
I’m ADDICTED to these pods. You guys are awesome. Super cool seeing Jake and JPR on back to back episodes

whole unova game in poke stars studios LOL
Stop I’d be so sad 😂😢

Hadrians wall between Scotland and England
If we keep supporting legends we will prolly see all regions over the years. What i would like to see is the lore explored more in depth in these games
Jouto would be perfect because the traditions in the region. Like Legends: Arceus and HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Generation 4 art style would have to be used.
main reason i want johto for a legends game, the aesthetic would go hard and we'd get more lore dumps

At least that is my theory on the game.
It could work a bit like the Good/Bad future mechanic in Sonic CD.
1:20:52 There is actually a very famous, mostly broken wall that exists in mainland Britain. I don’t remember what it’s called, but Robin Hood steps over it in the old Robin Hood movie when he comes back to England

58:32 it's giving Clavell asking about chuegy

Who knows since AZ happened thousands of years before the reconstruction era of Paris
They in fact did not have a time machine a scarlet and violet. They had a dimensional machine in scarlet and violet.
that legends hoenn idea is sick af. best one I've heard yet
1:20:39 Galar is completly messed up in terms of where cities are related to eachother if youre taking in account real life
but yes there is a wall to the north! Hadrian's wall
In honesty I only watch because JPR was in but the podcast was pretty good I'm going to stick around and see what happens
Petition to keep JPR as a 4th Hidden Power host!
That would be cool but he’s already apart of the Champion League pod
finally the JPR episode, I’ve been waiting! 🥰

The Drasna comments are the most hilarious
mother of dragons
Gamefreak should really add some new types.
The Wall in Games of Thrones is based on a wall between England and Scotland

I don't think legend forces a past tense narrative. I mean in no game that I'm aware of was anything in PLA mentioned as historically accurate.
True but PLA is a stand alone series so it makes sense. But yea I don’t think the series will necessarily be a past focused series.
the books in legend seem to just be the book you get with ur starter.

I hope i can get cleaved in half by a kingambit in legends ZA :)
Possibly legends arceus is scarlet past so Z-a is violet future connected maybe
Or maybe they will make a game that they combine both Kanto and Johto into a game
Maybe it's set in the old city and the new city being built at the same time
I think for the fact legends was not ancient times but instead a hundred years ago and it being called aa village that the reconstruction of a CITY is WAY more modern. I would buy a crew neck shirt version of ruperts version
I feel as though. They may bring back megas a the future mechanic for the next few gens.

Perfect podcast to slot cards to
🙌🏼
A Legends: Galar game is my number one pick for the the next Legends game. It is my favorite region with my favorite Dex and my favorite Pokemon.
JPR! Are you the reason last night's pod was canceled!? You were cheating on the Champs with the HP pod?! 😝
they recorded this one a while ago. i remember it being leaked in dustys playlist like two weeks ago
Zac’s fault not mine 💀
We cannot make a public comment at this time
Another peak video to spend while eating
I think they'll be wild mega instead of alpha in za. I'm praying if caught they'll get the mega mark in the next game!
I think a cool name for a Legends game about Necrozma could be cancelled Pokémon Legends: The Blinding One
The 🐐JPR!!
arceus takes place like a hundred or 2 hundred years ago near the industrial revolution era. It is wild all the old forms of mons are just exstinct? and the starter lines from diamond went from plentiful to RARE in 100 hundred years. It is not real evolution lol.
You got city forms in gen 8. Steam stack weezing.
The Pokémon series and games have always been separate. The series directors took creative liberties when it came to the show and the games would always come before the show. But the games would inspire the show. Not the other way around.
B team cooks so they can make it to A team and have a break lol
They need to add some evolutions to the ralts line.
I don’t see it the line is complete it wouldn’t make sense to switch up the evo line
They really need to add new typing.
Jooooohhhhhn! Wooooo
When people talk about X2/Y2, was it 100% supposed to be that or X²/Y² like enhanced versions similar to US/UM?
The way the games were coded made them seem very similar to Black and White 2
And no matter which way it would have been, Zygarde would have had much bigger role of course, and I could bet money that while they would have technically been called X2/Y2, the logo would have basically been XZ/YZ as 2 and Z have similar shapes.
1:01:16 "NOBODY ASKED YOU THOUGH" - SoulSilverArt ☠️🤣😂🤣😂
I agree with JPR on the timeline
Pokemon: Legends Kanto.... Idk if i want to see the origins of lavender town
Hear me out, the "alpha" pokemon are primal pokemon, not mega

Timestamps for future vids??
We need alphas again. Dusty needs an alpha Gogoat
You guys are killing it with the clickbait
