What Parasect really needs is 2 evolutions - one where the fungus succeeds in killing the host and continuing on its life cycle (grass/dark) and another one where the bug manages to shake off the parasite but still ends up a ghost (ghost/bug). How cool would it be to have a spore user that isnt a mushroom anymore!
I’m all here for new evolutions. So happy they’ve begun to appear again. I would like some new baby Pokémon again one day. Baby Lapras and Baby Tropius need to happen along with further evolutions.
When kecleon goes invisible, it keeps its red stripe visible. It would be cool to another pattern on the evolution like a scary face or the shape of another pokemon.
My Gen 6 pick would be Heliolisk. It has very strong "unrealized potential" energy. It never even got any kind of Normal type signature move, and the way it goes into charging mode is screaming for some kind of form mechanic...
2:33 "Cross evos framed like regional evos" In these instances, the marketing flavor texts are not trying to imply a regional dependence. The focus is on an evolution like Farigiraf being discovered for the FIRST TIME... "in the [insert whatever region is new]", this part is more like a stand-in of "newest game" than it is about the actual region in it. They've done the same thing at least as far back as Sinnoh, where they framed it as old Pokémon evolving IN THE SINNOH REGION, when in the end there was nothing specifically exclusive to Sinnoh causing the evolutions. And yes, like Lumi points out, we literally know Kitakami does not have "Paldean influence" yet that doesn't stop any of the new evos from happening in it.
Soul's idea for Carbink into some Antylamon looking thing would be awesome. I am also surprised by Lumi's anti-Digimon response, especially with the similarities between Mega Evolution and Digivolving... Okay, now before I get in trouble for the Mega comparison, here are my 9: 1. Arbok 2. Ariados (Was Ledian until Soul mentioned it) 3. Spinda (Was Kecleon until Lumi mentioned it) 4. Glameow 5. Musharna 6. Meowstic (Originally had Heliolisk) 7. Bruxish (But Komala is the correct choice) 8. Eldegoss 9. Maushold
My Gen 9 pick: duh, Cyclizar! Because Koraidon and Miraidon feel like they're Paradox versions of an evolution of Cyclizar rather than Cyclizar itself.
Drampa's evolution can be called Grandragon. like, a grandpa dragon, but also a dragon that is seasoned and grand, been around a long time. it could be like a Thousand Year Dragon vibe
Gen 1 - Seaking Gen 2 - Lanturn Gen 3 - Chimecho Gen 4 - Pachirisu Gen 5 - Beheeyem Gen 6 - Heliolisk Gen 7 - Komala Gen 8 - Pincurchin Gen 9 - Revavroom Honorable mentions go to Ariados and Kecleon. Gen 2 and 3 were both difficult to choose
I called my friend Slugma recently. He sounded really angry. He told me, "I couldn't find my car the whole day. You know what I said? I said, "Where'd Ma-Car-Go?"
I used to battle my cousins in gen05. By b2w2 we started getting creative, battle with any Pokémon with stats under 500 (350-499). I dominated with Seaking. Give it lightning rod & signal beam... it was a monster under certain conditions.
Seaking evolution eater/fire type called Searinking Lapras ground or poison regional variant. Ground would just be gastrodon going through the mud and poison would be lapras swimmih through the sludge. Sort of like a snail or slug even. The reason why jinx won is because it was a part of a trio with magmar and electabuzz but in gen 4 it never got an evolution. They probably didn't want to touch it after the blackface jinx stuff. Scovillain is kind of an counterpart to palafin so it should get an equally as strong form or evolution. I think of lokix as also part of that trio
While not as cool as Scizor or Steelix, I'm glad Fortress and Skarmory weren't hidden behind Metal Coat trade evos as someone who played Pokémon alone without two devices to self-trade or would never get to use any new Steel types in my Pokémon Crystal
Just started the video, but just wanted to put my list out beforehand and compare as I watch: Gen 1 - Parasect, Seaking, and Jinx Gen 2 - Ledian and Sunflora Gen 3 - Mightyena, Delcatty, and Chimecho Gen 4 - Kricketune and Lumineon Gen 5 - the elemental monkeys Gen 6 - Gogoat and Heliolisk Gen 7 - Comfey Gen 8 - Falinks and Eiscue Gen 9 - Scovillain and Flamigo
Glad a lot of my picks were mentioned xD. So many were listed that i wanted on my list too lol. Im sure there could be like 100 pokemon that people think there could be evolutions for but i really liked this video. Eiscue needs an evolution because its such a bad design as is. Literally my least favorite pokemon. Up there with Dudunceparce. Maybe next time, look at who needs a baby form (and which baby forms shouldnt exist)
My Gen 2 pick would have been Magcargo getting a real type by becoming a non-legendary Heatran... but since you talked about it plenty, my alternate choice is Houndoom. Houndoom, similarly to Magcargo was initially such an exotic post-game Pokémon, but with pretty underwhelming stats.
DRAGON/GHOST DRAMPA please!! 🙏 an old dragon who died happy protecting children. It’s “corpse” is now inhibited by the lost souls of children who were lured by Drifloon.
My pick for Gen 3 would be Castform. Specifically, I'd make one of the conditions for its evolution that there has to be an active weather in the area where it levels up, because that would be what determines which form its evolution takes on permanently (similar to Urshifu's form being decided when it evolves), and then the evolution would lose Forecast for the respective weather-setting ability (Drought/Drizzle/SnowWarning). It would be a fun way to basically add an additional weather-setter to most of the weathers all at once.
1:12:18 I want a Gogoat evolution that’s Wendigo inspired. Does put it into that weird and very common type-combo of grass/ghost alongside Phantump and Pumpkaboo also in the region, though I guess you could make it Grass/Dark instead. I usually don’t like it when quadruped Pokémon are changed in bipedal ones, but I think it could work in Gogoat’s case. Make it a rare encounter in the forest next to Snowbelle city, or the icy mountains in the north of Kalos.
My Gen 5 pick would be Swoobat. For the love of Arceus, it needs an evolution so bad. It's somehow worse than an unevolved Golbat despite Woobat starting off stronger than Zubat......
Here a list of Pokémon's idea that need deserved new cross-gen evolution: Gen 1-Parasect,Seaking, Jinx, and Pinsir Gen 2-Ledian, Ariados, Sunflora, and Noctowl Gen 3-Zangoose, Serviper, and Kecleon Gen 4-Kricketune and Lumineon Gen 5- Scrafty, Durant, Maractus Gen 6-Gogoat, Heliolisk, Hawlucha, and Pangora Gen 7-Comfey and Drampa Gen 8-Falinks and Eldegoss Gen 9-Grafaiai, Scorvillain, Flamigo, and Belibolt
Durant Evolution having Flash Fire would mean it has no weaknesses like Levitate Eelektross. I had picked Hypno, Ledian, Chimecho, Lumineon, Beartic, Noivern, Lurantis, Boltund & Grafaiai.
5:53 Fighting types in G1 were terrible w mostly submission as their only reliable STAB move. So Primeape wasn't gr8 among other fighters due to having low Special stat. Seel & Goldeen lines are Gen 1 mons that are just a real life animal, but here's also a horn attached to their head as a bonus. These guys went unnoticed in the video & comments: 1. Kanto doesnt need much special attention aside from Eevee, atleast for now. 2. Sudowoodo Granbull Unown Xatu Smeargle 3. Spinda Grumpig Breloom Whiscash Pelipper Cacturne Claydol 4. Cherrim Driftlim Gastrodon Purugly 5. Audino Zebstrika Sigilyph Sawsbuck 6. Meowstic Klefki Furfrou Pyroar 7. Passimian Shiinotic Pyukumuku Mimikyu 8. Dubwool Grapploct Sandaconda Drednaw 9. Dachsbun Lokix Glimmora Squawkabilly Bombirdier
My Gen 7 pick would be Oricorio due to how interesting it would be for it having different evolutions based on the form....JUST KIDDING IT WOULD BE CRABOMINABLE OBVIOUSLY, MA BOI NEEDS A BUFF
I just want a Mightyena evolution. Carmine using Poochyena in the trailer gave me hope, then Khu's riddles definitely got me excited for the possibility, but nope. Mightyena got nothing. Then Khu later on did a second riddle conveniently using Poochyena in it, even though it has nothing to do with it. Tired of being blue-balled, give Mightyena an evolution already. They could keep it quadrupedal and make it a huge dire wolf-like Pokemon, or make it bipedal and make it more werewolf-like or even a gnoll. Dark/Ground makes sense, but with its abilities, it'd be too close to Krookodile. So I'm thinking Dark/Fairy (Since werewolves are associated with the Moon, as are fairies), or Dark/Poison and make it nearly rabid.
My Gen 8 pick.... actually first I need to mention that I'm still shocked that I no longer get to scream Duraludon at this opportunity. ...but my pick now is absolutely Frosmoth. A lot about the Snom line feels like it was conceived as a counterpart to the Larvesta line... but for some reason they decided to nerf every single detail about it in the process (unfortunate type, much worse stats, smaller movepool..), so maybe having it evolve can somehow give it more tools to, not even catch up with Volcarona, but at least have a shot at being decent.
My Gen 4 pick would be Pachirisu. If any Pikaclone deserves getting a buff, it's that one IMO. Heck, even if it just got a more subtle evolution ala Pawmot, I'd be celebrating.
The only way a male Salandit evolution would be acceptable is if it was somehow still way weaker than Salazzle, sorry but this one was meant for the matriarchy. :p
My Gen 1 pick would be Electrode. Magneton evolved while Electrode was left behind. It has an incredible speed stat but just fails in every other aspect so much that it isn't enough to ruin it. It could be an Electric/Fire type and get a special Fire-type variant of Explosion lol
3:32 "sucks for Obstagoon and co. that they're tied to Galar" I promise I'm not being silly when I say this, but technically they are not tied to Galar. Obstagoon and the rest of that group are REGULAR evolutions... of regional forms. The region's influence is not a requirement/trigger for the evolution process itself. The regional influence is only relevant for obtaining their PRE-EVOLUTIONS. When you then consider that Gamefreak generally stick to the rule that they include permanent alternate forms of any Pokémon species that ends up in a game (Legends Arceus is the sole exception, but given how untypical that game is in many ways in the context of the main series, I think it's fair to say it's an anomaly), where LGPE included every single Alolan form despite not even including something as simple and as old as Crobat, where SwSh included every Alolan/regular form of any Pokémon that was in the game (even to the point of awkwardly including Persian/Cofagrigus as part of the Galar-Dex, despite all Meowth/Yamask hatching as Galarian everywhere in the game), and even SV now having followed the same rule, where any Pokémon had their regional forms transferrable the moment Home updated, simply because at least one form was in the game. Therefore, if say Gen 10 starts and has Zigzagoon in it... yes it won't have the Galarian form of it naturally obtainable, but will still have all forms of Zigzagoon automatically programmed in, and in turn also Obstagoon, which then becomes obtainable as soon as it gets Home compatibility.
One thing y’all gotta consider when giving out evolutions is that the original mon could start using eviolite. And I know nobody in competitive is tryna deal with Eviolite Skarmory lmao
These are my picks ✨ Gen 1: Raticate Gen 2: Sudowoodo Gen 3: Castform Gen 4: Male Buneary Gen 5: Durant Gen 6: Klefki Gen 7: Shiinotic Gen 8: Boltund Gen 9: Grafaiai
I’m just here to say that paradox Pokémon are yet more useless special Pokémon that don’t evolve, can’t go on ur journey, and can only be used for end game=trash/garbage. Just make more regional variants imo. I like a lot of the choices in this list.
Here me out here, red and blue basculin. In their native habitat, bass are the apex predators. They should always have been something cool and over the top. This disconnect has always made basculin and quilfish some of my least favorite Pokémon. Basculegion and Overquil have become two of my favorite Pokémon. Now give the base forms that love.
I really want Golduck to get an evolution.. Pysduck is so cute, and I can’t get myself to evolve my shiny baby. For what? So she can become ugly and not even really usable? I dream of the day when she gets that third stage, she will be able to evolve. SWOLEDUCK please. Also, Annihilape does still see a lot of usage even in regulation E. It’s not like top 10 and everywhere , but I think it’s still in the top 25 at the very least. LOVE that big dead monke. (not choice scarf final gambit ones)
Why would you want Magcargo to become a Golem?? That’s literally contradictory to its entire snail inspiration. That’s like saying, “That dog is cool & all, but let’s make it a BEAVER!”
Listening to Soul's takes is always a mix of interesting and terrifying cause on one hand it's cool to hear a more unique perspective but if he ever ended up working on designs at Gamefreak he would become my biggest enemy. Though he did make me like Mothim, so, just give him all the bugs I guess.
Every Pokémon who can only evolve as a regional form should also evolve. Kantonian Farfetch’d, Kantonian Mr. Mime, Johtonian Qwilfish, Johtonian Corsola, Hoennian Linoone, and both forms of Unovan Basculin.
Here to continue my endless campaign of begging you boys to play New Pokemon Snap. It is the most successful Pokemon game at accomplishing what it was trying to be. Have you ever wanted Pokemon to feel like living creatures? Play Snap.
A bit of constructive criticism from an audio only listener: the cup with the ice sliding around is pretty annoying. Love the podcast other than that though!
How ironic to have lumiose (who is frankly starting to annoy me) to claim Soulsilver has bad taste for not liking feminine designs yet dissing the whole Digimon franchise which is unironically better than pokémon over one design, one that's good to begin with (Antylamon is literally designed to be a bit off-putting as a kind of mastermind)
Man I swear the dog Pokémon are my favorite and y’all are always dissing them. Boltund is my favorite electric type and my 7th favorite Pokémon. Y’all are F tier 😂😂😂 just playing but I agree with Grafifi (I think that’s how you spell it) needs an evolution the most. One thing though eevee needs more evolutions
What Parasect really needs is 2 evolutions - one where the fungus succeeds in killing the host and continuing on its life cycle (grass/dark) and another one where the bug manages to shake off the parasite but still ends up a ghost (ghost/bug). Fairy/bug would be awesome and I don't think it has been used yet, plus it could tell the story of a kind big being overtaken by a a dark parasite 😊

Jynx definitely needs it keep the typing give it a good ice ability and a beautiful design with moonblast as a learnset move
1:01:48 Soul: "Lumi hasn't played anything"
....yet he's the only one on this show that played New Snap xD
Also the Antylamon shade I can’t!! 🥲
I’m all here for new evolutions. So happy they’ve begun to appear again. I would like some new baby Pokémon again one day. Baby Lapras and Baby Tropius need to happen along with further evolutions.
I am in LOVE with the Kevin Durant Jumpscare
When kecleon goes invisible, it keeps its red stripe visible. It would be cool to another pattern on the evolution like a scary face or the shape of another pokemon.
My Gen 6 pick would be Heliolisk.
It has very strong "unrealized potential" energy.
It never even got any kind of Normal type signature move, and the way it goes into charging mode is screaming for some kind of form mechanic...
Lapras' singing element was expanded in G8 through the Gmax form & learning Primarina's Sparkling Aria.
2:33 "Cross evos framed like regional evos"

3. Spinda (Was Kecleon until Lumi mentioned it)
4. Glameow
5. Musharna
6. Meowstic (Originally had Heliolisk)
7. Bruxish (But Komala is the correct choice)
8. Eldegoss
9. Maushold
Digimons the best I would love a Digimon tier list but just with Soul 😅🤣
My Gen 9 pick: duh, Cyclizar!
Because Koraidon and Miraidon feel like they're Paradox versions of an evolution of Cyclizar rather than Cyclizar itself.
Drampa's evolution can be called Grandragon. like, a grandpa dragon, but also a dragon that is seasoned and grand, been around a long time. it could be like a Thousand Year Dragon vibe

Gen 6 - Heliolisk
Gen 7 - Komala
Gen 8 - Pincurchin
Gen 9 - Revavroom
Honorable mentions go to Ariados and Kecleon. Gen 2 and 3 were both difficult to choose
I know a lot of people hate Jynx, but I’d like her to get some love and give her a new design that isn’t problematic.
I called my friend Slugma recently. He sounded really angry. He told me, "I couldn't find my car the whole day. You know what I said? I said, "Where'd Ma-Car-Go?"

I loved Birdkeeper Toby's regional Lapras.

does Heliolisk really need a evolution tho?
Split evolutions or regional evolution like legends for older pokemon would be cool
My Gen 2 pick would have been Magcargo getting a real type by becoming a non-legendary Heatran... but since you talked about it plenty,
my alternate choice is Houndoom.
Houndoom, similarly to Magcargo was initially such an exotic post-game Pokémon, but with pretty underwhelming stats.
Happy Lumi X-Mas Day 🎉❤
I would love to see a legends Evo for Grovyle that made look closer to Grovyle. Make it faster and give it sharpness
You could explain that with the time traveling grovyle from mystery dungeon being stuck in the past and having to evolve

DRAGON/GHOST DRAMPA please!! 🙏 an old dragon who died happy protecting children. It’s “corpse” is now inhibited by the lost souls of children who were lured by Drifloon.
Woahhhh. This is so freakin dark but I love it so much but feel bad that I love it so much because it is so dark 😮
Maybe it’d look younger than it did prior to Drampa, being a Benjamin button type of evolution!
i like the idea of being able to give eviolite to those evos that would be getting another stage like crogunk or tropius

Gen 1-Parasect,Seaking, Jinx, and Pinsir
Gen 2-Ledian, Ariados, Sunflora, and Noctowl
Gen 3-Zangoose, Serviper, and Kecleon
Gen 4-Kricketune and Lumineon
Gen 5- Scrafty, Durant, Maractus
Gen 6-Gogoat, Heliolisk, Hawlucha, and Pangora
Gen 7-Comfey and Drampa
Gen 8-Falinks and Eldegoss
Gen 9-Grafaiai, Scorvillain, Flamigo, and Belibolt
I'd say that espurr needs an evolution as well.
Flamigo needs more of a pre evolution honestly
The rabbit reminds me of Donnie Darko
1:35:06 the problem with orthworm for me is that it looks like a male body part, to which the goofy face adds to or solidifies. 😅

I’m shocked!! Dusty and Soul need to play New Pokémon Snap AND Lumy needs to play some Smash Bros 😂
I am definitely with Lumi on that tall digimon/rabbit thing. Nightmare fuel!
I think lapras needs a regional variant and it should have gotten a mega

Lumi is way too thin to be Santa Claus though😥

I always thought a cool regional form of magcargo could be like the underwater hot spots that make volcanos and make it water/fire!
I would prefer A seaking/seaqueen split evo with them getting Ocempress/Ocemporer as evos to them.
Weezing and Arbok need evolutions badly. I would be sad if they didn’t get one.
This is definitely one of the best episodes yet! Do I hear hints to a video like this but for forms?
A pleasure to watch, I would love to see more episodes in this style
you kept calling heatmore heatan and i find that hillaious
My Gen 8 pick.... actually first I need to mention that I'm still shocked that I no longer get to scream Duraludon at this opportunity.
...but my pick now is absolutely Frosmoth.
A lot about the Snom line feels like it was conceived as a counterpart to the Larvesta line... but for some reason they decided to nerf every single detail about it in the process (unfortunate type, much worse stats, smaller movepool..), so maybe having it evolve can somehow give it more tools to, not even catch up with Volcarona, but at least have a shot at being decent.

I want to see a regional paras that doesn't have the mushroom. Maybe a bug ground type.
Soul in tier list videos: "I dont like pokemon that are just men"
Soul in this video: "Female-only pokemon should have variants that are men" 😂

the duality of Soul 🤣
I really want Absol to get a pre evolution.

Unless your name is Weezing
Cause there’s no Galarian Koffimg
Thank you for the feature!!! 🎉❤
Thank you! We wish there was a better way to credit you and everyone else! We were just surfing the web
No worries! Great episode. So many laughs. Keep it up!
One thing y’all gotta consider when giving out evolutions is that the original mon could start using eviolite. And I know nobody in competitive is tryna deal with Eviolite Skarmory lmao
Heatran and Durant are counterparts? Lol
😆
These are my picks ✨
Gen 1: Raticate
Gen 2: Sudowoodo
Gen 3: Castform
Gen 4: Male Buneary
Gen 5: Durant
Gen 6: Klefki
Gen 7: Shiinotic
Gen 8: Boltund
Gen 9: Grafaiai
I’m just here to say that paradox Pokémon are yet more useless special Pokémon that don’t evolve, can’t go on ur journey, and can only be used for end game=trash/garbage. Just make more regional variants imo. I like a lot of the choices in this list.
Here me out here, red and blue basculin. In their native habitat, bass are the apex predators. They should always have been something cool and over the top. This disconnect has always made basculin and quilfish some of my least favorite Pokémon.
Basculegion and Overquil have become two of my favorite Pokémon. Now give the base forms that love.
Would you guys want more conversion Pokémon or more regional variants? Or both
Both! But I think we all prefer regional variants. So if one HAD to go…bye bye, lookalikes
I just realized. What if Paras and parasect use to be A nincada?
Hmm 🤔 def related I’d say!
Legends Z-A is Pokemon's Silk Song
Here to continue my endless campaign of begging you boys to play New Pokemon Snap. It is the most successful Pokemon game at accomplishing what it was trying to be. Have you ever wanted Pokemon to feel like living creatures? Play Snap.
TELL THEM.
Dusty why are you reading this comment instead of playing New Pokémon Snap?
I'd shit my pants if there was a gen based on California/Pacific West Coast US/Canada/Mexico.
A bit of constructive criticism from an audio only listener: the cup with the ice sliding around is pretty annoying. Love the podcast other than that though!
Noted!
If youre invested in the show invest in the show 🎉
Lumi is a Pokédex no cap
ah yes kingambit definitely does not exist
How ironic to have lumiose (who is frankly starting to annoy me) to claim Soulsilver has bad taste for not liking feminine designs yet dissing the whole Digimon franchise which is unironically better than pokémon over one design, one that's good to begin with (Antylamon is literally designed to be a bit off-putting as a kind of mastermind)
Whoopsies 😅
😆
Hey, to be fair, i was in a bad mood and i get pretty uuuh uptight when someone dunks on Digimon.
It's peak.
It's no Cherubi...
metal coat druddigon🔥🔥🔥
Weavile needs one
Do you think area zero is owned by the blueberry academy?
Play New Pokemon Snap!
Someone wasn't a Perish Song kid 😂
Lapras is musical as shit. It's song Insta faints everyone. But YOU switch out.
Slugma>Magcargo>Slugsidian (Slug+Obsidian)
Man I swear the dog Pokémon are my favorite and y’all are always dissing them. Boltund is my favorite electric type and my 7th favorite Pokémon. Y’all are F tier 😂😂😂 just playing but I agree with Grafifi (I think that’s how you spell it) needs an evolution the most. One thing though eevee needs more evolutions
Druddigon evolves to Dragoyle
