Just watched your video my 3 year old boy he said I watch it with you daddy I love that I can do that with your videos and don’t have to worry about him picking up words he don’t need to here thanks Matt for another great video
Matt, another tip I'll add about using CA glue/ Super Glue is to keep a bottle or can of acetone close by. If you accidentally glue your fingers together or to your project, acetone will breakdown the glue so you can separate them again painlessly.
I know this is an older video so you may not see this comment but I just wanted to tell you about this. I use a lot of ca glue so I used your link to order starbond's giant kit (I think it was 16 Oz). I received it a while ago and everything is fine. Today, out of the blue, I got a package from starbond with a big spray bottle of activator. There was a note that said something like, "we noticed you didn't order any activator and even though you may already have some, to show our appreciation, we are sending you a bottle free of charge". I think that is awesome and I appreciate it.
You can also dye CA glue with whatever saw dust you have laying around to get a decent color match for cracks for example sanding a bunch of cherry take some of the dust mix it with the glue spread on and hit with applicator
So timely! Are you seeing my search topics!? Covering the differences in viscosity and uses was exactly what I was trying to gauge. You are killing it... it's almost like this is your full time job now.
Hey Matt Outlaw. Lol. Starbond has a debonder for removing CA glue. I didn't know if you where aware or not. So I figured I'd let you know.. thanks for another great one brother...
@@731Woodworks Sorry about that I guess, I didn't read over my message before I posted it. But I fixed it in case you didn't get what I was saying lol.
I've been meaning to get some medium & thick CA glue, with the activator. Didn't know they made colorful glues. I put 30 hrs into a custom carving, only to find a hidden knot in the wood. It very nearly cracked in a way that would've ruined the project. Thank God I was able to use the little CA glue I had to fix it. Probably would've worked better & quicker with medium & activator, but it saved my ass from completely staring over. Great info. Thank you kindly.
You forgot the best use for woodworkers... It's like a liquid band-aid! I have had tons of little cuts and scrapes that might have needed a bandaid or stitches that CA glue took care of. Pinch the cut together or use string to wrap it up, add some CA glue, and then after it dries cut the rest of the string off.. it's quick and gets you back in action. *Disclaimer: I ain't a doctor, your results might vary. But this stuff should be in everyone's tool box, especially if you use sharp objects! Big ups from Upstate New York ❤️💛💚
Thank you Matt for the great information on CA glue! Bought some and totally love it! Wish I had know about when I first started woodworking. Game changer.
Great video Matt. I've used CA glue as a finish on some salt cellars I turned on my lathe. Once cured it's completely inert, crystal clear, and it can be polished to a high gloss or buffed back to matte or semi-gloss.
Just bought my first Starbond CA glue and activator at the Austin Woodworking Show last month. Used it for fixing things other than wood too! I've heard that storing the CA glue in the refrigerator will help it last longer, won't cure in the bottle.
The fridge thing peaked my interest, then I saw this on the website. You get a 20 month warranty for keeping it cold so I guess mine will be stored in the fridge from now on. LONG LASTING SUPERIOR SHELF LIFE: When well kept, our product can last several years in a cold environment. Just make sure to store the bottle under 40°F before AND after use to QUALIFY FOR OUR 20 month shelf life warranty. If product does not last, we will replace that bottle free of charge.
Brother thanks for another awesome video. I got the double sided tape you mentioned in the CNC videos. It works better than expected. It work so well, it got stuck to the top of my hand and took some hair with it when I removed it. Lol. It hurt something fierce. Thanks again for the recommendation.
Great uses!!! Just recently had a leg on a bench that split on the bottom. Grrrrr!!!! That glue would have been handy! Thank you for the content Matt..
Hey there! Jenny here from Hardknot Creations. Love y'all and all your content! I've been following for quite some time. I know this question has nothing to do with this video, however, I could not find the spot on your website to ask a question, so here it is...lol could you possibly do a video on mortise and tenon joinery on a farmhouse dining table. I'm trying to expand my knowledge and for the life of me I can not find something that even comes close to how you show me and explain how to do things. I love how you teach and it just resonates with me.
From Starbond their CA glue may come in 3 viscosities but CA glue in general comes in multitudes more than 3 viscosities from well thinner than water to thicker than molasses. You can also make a paste or activate CA glues with backing soda. There are also CA glues that can have increased flexibility and can glue foams which standard CA glue doesn’t do. I love CA glue and use it a lot in my shop along with epoxies, PVA wood glues, polyurethane glues/adhesives, and epoxy and acetone based wood fillers.
I don't know what I would do without CA glue. Funny thing, I went to lowe's and asked a few workers where the CA glue was, and they had no idea what I was talking about. I had to say, super glue.
I do love my starbond CA glue!!! I use medium clear and black a bunch. My opinion of having them is the pump bottles of accelerator leak and are a pain. I'm 100% for sure getting the aerosol spray cans of accelerator next time!! Not sure on your experience with the pump that has just been mine. I also now know why mine bubbles up so much, too much accelerator. I think I always thought if a little was fast alot is probably really fast. Less is more appears to be the game here, thanks for the info/tip.
Congrats on 200K subs. There are some very good channels which have not achieved that milestone. By the way, to keep my cost of jigs down, I have been making wood knobs. there are lots of videos showing how. Next, I will try making my own T Track from hardwood. See Stumpy Nubs.
Thanks for covering what happens when you use too much accelerator--that's why I wanted to watch, to find out why my glue bubbled up. Now I know! Took a lot of sanding, and it still doesn't look great thanks to that mistake. Now I know!
This is in the description on the website. Someone else on here asked about keeping it in the fridge, guess that is the trick.
Today I've been watching this video for the second (and partly third) time. The first time was one day after you released it, but that time I didn't react. Starbond CA glue is one of the few things that is showed on American UA-cam channels, that is also available in Slovakia. Thanks to your video I know more or less what to buy now. Although............... How necessary is the excelerator? Is there only one type, that works on all colours and viscosities of the CA glue? I think I'll use CA glue mainly for gluing to pieces of wood together (together with classic wood glue) so I don't need so many clamps and I don't need to wait so long time. What about shelf life of the CA glue? How long does it stay good in a shop temperature (15 to 22 degrees Celsius)? I've heard that keeping it on a cool place should lengthen the shelf life. But I can't find any information nor comparison. Do you know more about that?
Great video Matt.. what happens if you fill cracks or knots with the Clear medium ca glue. I mostly use dimensional lumber for my projects and wondering how well the clear will finish and stain..

Awesome 👏 👊🏻
Your videos are most impressive, far more than others.

Duck tape is in every tool box in north east, not just the south. What works, works!
I've been woodworking for 35yrs and using ca glue the entire time BUT I still watched the entire video. 731 Woodworks is just entertaining.
Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion

Great product, excellent advice and education 👏.
Thank you
Such a great video and congratulations on 200,000 I am so happy fir y’all
Thank you
Just saved me $6. Thanks for the video and the discount code.
I knew the bare minimum about ca glue. Thank you for this. Plus I don’t like wood putty as well so this is great

Thank you Matt for the great information on CA glue! Bought some and totally love it! Wish I had know about when I first started woodworking. Game changer.
Accurate. I use CA daily and in just about anything. It’s kept right next to my duct tape, painter’s tape and packing tape. Haha
Great video Matt. I've used CA glue as a finish on some salt cellars I turned on my lathe. Once cured it's completely inert, crystal clear, and it can be polished to a high gloss or buffed back to matte or semi-gloss.
Learn something new everyday. Great tips.
Great video!! To the point and with your usual descriptive style, which I really like. Thanks.

Never heard of this product before. Can’t wait to try it. THANKS!
It is also called super-glue if you've heard of that.
Great video Matt! I’ve been toying with the thought of getting some ca glue. You sold me in it! Thank you for the coupon code!!!
I don't know what I would do without CA glue. Funny thing, I went to lowe's and asked a few workers where the CA glue was, and they had no idea what I was talking about. I had to say, super glue.
It's so awesome to see how much better these videos are getting. Also I had no idea there were different viscosities of CA glue
Thank you
Used & dried coffee grounds and thin CA is great for filling larger cracks & knots holes

The bad thing about CA glue is that it has a short shelf life.
always learn great things from you, thank you. gotta test that stuff out for myself lol

When I see CA glue hold a NASCAR bumper on at 200mph then I'll agree lol!
Thanks for covering what happens when you use too much accelerator--that's why I wanted to watch, to find out why my glue bubbled up. Now I know! Took a lot of sanding, and it still doesn't look great thanks to that mistake. Now I know!
What is the shelf life on the glue bottles once opened?

Very good ideas
Matt if that beard gets any longer I’m going to start to think you’re building a big boat and gathering 2 of ever animal.
Thanks for the video Matt! Learned a lot about using CA glue for woodworking. Can you stain wood over CA glue? Thanks for your help Matt.
Louis
Up here in Maine, it’s duct tape and toilet paper, don’t leave home with out it, now we will add the CA glue.
👊🏻
I believe you can thin the glue with acetone if you only have thicker on hand. Acetone is also needed to remove accidents

Have you ever used polyurethane over CA glue and if so have you had any issues?
I made a walking stick with a crook, can i use ca glue if there is some sprayed cracks on the top? Thank you much
Great video Matt.. what happens if you fill cracks or knots with the Clear medium ca glue. I mostly use dimensional lumber for my projects and wondering how well the clear will finish and stain..
it won't accept stain. You can paint over it but stain won't soak into it.
Duct tape when its not supposed to move and WD-40 when it is.
And baling wire too!
Whats the difference between this and regular super glue?
How do you keep it from clogging the tip
I see you used the ridgid gun how do you like it I've been looking at them
I like it. Used them for a few years now.
The crack or imperfections is what's called "checking"

I had a coach 1973 morris outlaw, any relation? Thanks for the tips
I've never heard of him. So probably no relation
You needed to say more about the accelerator. I use that a lot. It dries it almost immediately
Do you think it will work to fill in a chip/gouge in hardwood flooring?
yes it would
I am staining some wood with ebony color stain. No one near me has any black CA glue. Will it hurt to use clear CA glue with the ebony color stain?
the glue won't stain, so it'll remain clear
Does the same accelerator work with Evey CA glue thickness?
So 1 accelerator for everything or diff accelerator for each thickness?
Yes one will work with all
That was fast. Thank you
Keep up the awesome videos. Have been a fan for a while
Is there any reason not to use dollar store super glue? 😅
Will gorilla glue work
Use sawdust with CA as a filler.
Black because he's
Don’t forget zip ties
