The "lack of subtlety" trait (and forgive me if it has been said already) is a reference to the term "Laconic" which the aforementioned trait is the definition of. Laconia (Lacadaemonia) is the region that Spartans are from. They were infamous among their fellow more well-spoken Greeks (obviously for many reasons) for being blunt.
This is when I discovered you 3 years ago time for a anniversary I think love your channel and u have helped me out through some really tough time so thank you
As a total war fan since shogun days, really enjoyed this video. I will most certainly purchase when I get chance. Enjoyed the version one Greek states DLC so expectations are high, this video surly stood out. Thanks warrior of Sparta.
Decided to have a watch of this to see if i could learn anything as im on my first ever Total War game which is this as advised by yourself to get, very impressed with it but there is a LOT to learn and already just by watching this im a 100% improved player lol, took so much in there - thanks dude.
Oh i had no idea that you would pick sparta!! (sarcasm). no worries dude i dont think enough people do enough sparta campaigns. Ive been waiting for a sparta related dlc to come out and it finally has! thanks for doing the campaign bro keep it up
Great video, I had to get this one as soon as I saw it. It looks like the answer to Alexander from the first Rome TW. If you have the ear of the guys at Creative can you ask them to bring the zoom in where the enemy general dies. I also miss the music from the first one.
I’ve had to restart like 20 times or more. Playing on hard. My graphics aren’t that good either so it’s cool to see what someone else’s game looks like
I like that the Athens have walls connecting the city and harbor, thats accurate and when Persia supported Sparta and they won together, Spartans made them destroy these walls. But Sparta itself didnt have walls I believe..
It would have been a nice touch if they also had implemented the institution of the olympic truce. You were not able to fight during the course of the olympic games.
Great video ! When you got the money from those factions in turn one I was thinking to myself... Shit ... I could of done that lol... Also I was wondering how you used the paintbrush to give your cavalry units their orders.
Hi any idea on how to replenish the treasury? getting a "your treasury is empty" message before my next turn and i cant work out how to try and increase it - iv upped taxes to max.
Hey everyone! I just purchased TW Rome 2: Emperor Edition and want your veteran opinion: Should I play vanilla first OR go ahead and install "Divide et Impera" off the bat and play with this apparently impressive mod?
A few questions from a noob, what controls did you use to move grouped units so that they stay in their current formation? and more importantly, how did you do the drawing thing???
Old video I know, but, if you do not know already, Greek is a phonetic language so all words are pronounced just the way they are spelled (you can look up diphthongs if you are unsure of those however; 'ai-' is pronounced as a long 'i' for instance). And almost no one on UA-cam knows what they are talking about so asking for advice in this and other regards invites stupididya! / I was very disappointed in the DLC: Sicily & Italy are very notably absent!
Very nice videos, I have 1 question, how do you manage to transform "Thessalian" into "Thessalinian"? Its all really funny...keep the gameplay vids coming
there needs to be a way to customize you back ground for the main menu, i might not buy a campaign pack after this one and from the looks of it, this campaign may have benefited greatly from a reserve system
Ok, question: How did you "draw" on the battlefield with the brush, when you maneuvered your cavalry around the city center? I'd be thankful for a reply.
tsjoencinema There are three buttons above the Campaign map and battle map, which can be enabled in the battle options menu I believe. WoS can correct me if needed
I heard that CA will remove the ramming ability from transport ships in the next patch (that will probably come out tomorrow ) : "In addition, troop transports act more as cargo ships than combat vessels, and are no longer able to ram in naval battles, reducing the unfair advantage of troop convoys in naval warfare. This change will be retroactively applied to all ROME II campaigns", so make sure you build a fleet to transport your troops in the next épisodes. I noticed that you didn't paid attention to culture, even though all are hellenic, now you have different tribal cultures (spartan, athenian etc.) which will act as different cultures (so culture still has a role to play in this campaign). The Olympic Games are quite cool also, they said last week that if you sponsor an athlete and he wins one of the challenges (running, throwing etc.) it will become a unique general with unique attributes that you can recruit (but this happens only if he wins, and wining is quite random). The Persian Empire is programmed not to declare war on any faction (except of course if a faction declares war on it first) and declare war only to the faction that becomes too powerfull. Also, taking one of the enemy capitals will not only make all the other factions hate you, but your allies might also declare war on you. Goodluck, I look forward to play the campaign tomorrow :)
just 1 Question i play this camping on easy but my units arent as big as in this camping ?? so if i played it hard would my units grow in number or not ? or do i have to download a different version of rome total war 2 my version is 2.2.0 pls tell me :)
no offence intended but your start is slightly off the non agression pacts are no guarantee that they wont attack, also massing armies near athens is essential to make sure they wont land spamm your weaker terretory's, make sure u also get early pikes with some range because hoplites vs hoplites is a bad matchup they take too long and flanking attacks are more deadly
So it starts... The Spartans have arised from the shadow, lead by the great king "WarriorofSparta", and they have brought death and destrucion upon the Athenian scum. The Sons of Ares lead by the great Arkidamos attaked the minor city of Zakynthos, and there they slaughtered the Athenians that stood against them. The battle was minor, but the Perioikoi Hoplites showed their valour and the Athenian saw that they had unleashed the Wrath of Sparta!
Your likes and comments help my video in the search results, so I certainly appreciate it!
Share the video with my friends and family? Including my Grandma? :P
Great video, by the way, WarriorofSparta :D
Simon Wood Yes definitely! Your Grandma would love those semi naked Spartans! lol
WarriorofSparta :P
i think if CA worked with the creators of 300 I think it would the most greatest games ever
WOW 1000 likes!! That is just awesome, never had that many likes on any of my videos before. Thank you so much!
Apologies for not zooming in on the units enough in part 1, will definitely rectify that in part 2 :)
Episode 1 was still great! I can't wait for Episode 2.
THIS.... IS.... SPARTA!
Anyone else see the city of Oreo's near Warriors isolated city?
Also, what would you do if one of your allies took the glory of conquering Athens? What would your reaction be?
Evan1214 there is some talk of it in the Lionheart v Rambler campaign
Writing names on the map in actual Greek is really cool. I love it *-*

:) You are always intense, in your explanations, when you do your campaign. It crank me up to play the game myself haha Thank you for your work.
WHY DOES SPARTA HAVE WALLS?!?!?!
lol I know right, what happen to The "Spartan's Phalanx" as their walls.
Edit: yes I know I'm late -ignore the first notification-
I did my research Sparta definitely does not have walls
@@thegradyfiles one of the Spartan kings said the men are the walls
Well, this is awkward
It feels great to come back and watch one of the classics from the start
As much as I enjoyed this video it made me really impatient to play this. I never have been this excited for dlc ever before.
The amount of likes is just incredible, thanks so much guys :)
@WarriorofSparta How exactly do you put a number on your soldiers and make them a group? like 1, 2, 3, 4

Keep us posted, you have my interest, I love robots and puzzles.
As a total war fan since shogun days, really enjoyed this video.

I actually winced with that 2nd cavalry charge into the rear of the Atheneans....good stuff!
Oh i had no idea that you would pick sparta!! (sarcasm). no worries dude i dont think enough people do enough sparta campaigns. Ive been waiting for a sparta related dlc to come out and it finally has! thanks for doing the campaign bro keep it up

Oh yeah..................................ha!
As a student of ancient Greek a i like the fact that the names are in Greek letters
I’ve had to restart like 20 times or more. Playing on hard. My graphics aren’t that good either so it’s cool to see what someone else’s game looks like
Great video :D
+WarriorofSparta Here you go, have the 3,500th like ;)
Thanks man!
Can't wait
Why does Sparta have walls. I demand an explanation.
could you by any chance show us the new units for this campaign?
I like that the Athens have walls connecting the city and harbor, thats accurate and when Persia supported Sparta and they won together, Spartans made them destroy these walls. But Sparta itself didnt have walls I believe..
The destroying of the Long Walls was more as they were a little slight to Sparta, and so they could not follow the Periklean strategy again.
This campaign seems to require a bit more strategic thinking, since taking the capitals will cause a hefty diplomatic penalty
warrior of sparta that cant pronounce greek cities... shameful display :(
AHEM... shameful dispray
Well not all of us have good pronunciation
Every day I don't have enough money to buy this, I die a little inside.... I WANT IT!
It would have been a nice touch if they also had implemented the institution of the olympic truce. You were not able to fight during the course of the olympic games.
love the videos
Great video ! When you got the money from those factions in turn one I was thinking to myself... Shit ... I could of done that lol... Also I was wondering how you used the paintbrush to give your cavalry units their orders.
I am from Sparta. For real now.

I have Wrath of Sparta but when I go to the campain seclection menu, I don't see the factions names next to their symbol. Anyway to fix this?
How do you draw!? Can someone please say it?
Hi any idea on how to replenish the treasury? getting a "your treasury is empty" message before my next turn and i cant work out how to try and increase it - iv upped taxes to max.

THIS! IS! SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone! I just purchased TW Rome 2: Emperor Edition and want your veteran opinion:
Should I play vanilla first OR go ahead and install "Divide et Impera" off the bat and play with this apparently impressive mod?
Hey, how you compete the quest : Have complete control over 1 sea region?
A lot of people wanted a lot of things for Rome 2! Still waitting... Hey CA the word for sea is pelagos not pelgao!
Very good!
If we buy this campaing dlc can we play as sparta in the grand campaign??
ok, and the units are all diferent or they just added more?
So it worth more buying greek city states?
Thank you! I will think about it...
A few questions from a noob, what controls did you use to move grouped units so that they stay in their current formation? and more importantly, how did you do the drawing thing???
you should make kreet into a power hub for economy or military
I think u are the best rookie totalwar u tuber

U have a island to the south of Sparta! With a city on it!
CJR Gaming no he doesnt
Perfect name for a spartan army might be a bit clichéy but I dont care 'the wraith of the warrior'
Very nice videos, I have 1 question, how do you manage to transform "Thessalian" into "Thessalinian"? Its all really funny...keep the gameplay vids coming
almost 5000 likes, more then 250.000 views... GG
And yes I’m trying to be more diplomatic this time but…my Spartan nature makes it a challenge lol
THIS IS SPARTA!
there needs to be a way to customize you back ground for the main menu, i might not buy a campaign pack after this one

Btw can you zoom in on the units a lot more
Actually melos was an ally of the Spartans in the war.
Ok, question: How did you "draw" on the battlefield with the brush, when you maneuvered your cavalry around the city center? I'd be thankful for a reply.
Video to explain it on my channel
You have many videos. Remember which one?
tsjoencinema There are three buttons above the Campaign map and battle map, which can be enabled in the battle options menu I believe. WoS can correct me if needed
press left mouse key and move mouse

just 1 Question
i play this camping on easy but my units arent as big as in this camping ??
so if i played it hard would my units grow in number or not ?
or do i have to download a different version of rome total war 2
my version is 2.2.0
pls tell me :)
you should have showed us how the new units (Mainly Spartan hoplites) look like......

Is ther a cheat or trainer to get rid of agents? they are really the only big problem whit the game.
