Oh dear 🤣 Pixel 8 Pro if you want point, shoot, straight to Instagram photos. Xiaomi 14 ultra if you want as near to a DSLR that you can get that makes calls, Ultra RAW images editted in post will blow away anything that the Pixel can do. I doubt that you will see the level of hardware (that's on the Xiaomi 14 ultra) on the pixel 14 pro, relying on software to make a photo for you isn't photography - may as well go to an AI image generator and tell it what you want to see and buy a £100 phone.
I have both , both are great in point and shoot , xiaomi will give less processing pictures while pixel with heavy processing. But in some ways xiaomi is insane better for some pictures
@@QuicknStraight Never said they were (if you want as near to a DSLR that you can get that makes calls), but in some scenarios the X14U will give a DSLR a good run for it's money, 16-bit DCG with 14 EV levels UltraRAW, no globally released phone is close - show me handheld night shots on your DSLR and I'll show you better on the X14U - unless you have gimbals for arms and the latest FF setup, that is. If you want a better view of capabilities then check out Alien Technologies on here, shows RAWs from Oppo FX7 Ultra, Vivo X100 Ultra, X14U and a Sony APS-C camera - all hold up well to the Sony even though they are only "phones".
I think camera tests should focus more on human photography since a lot of people like to take pictures of family and friends (not just scenery and objects). I had the Xiaomi 14 ultra and it sucked so badly because it makes people look like ghosts especially at night. And brightens up like crazy. Turning on/off metering mode helps a little bit but it is still really inconsistent. I’d pick the Pixel any day.

Just shifted to Xiaomi 14 ultra, from Pixel 8 pro. And I must say, Xiaomi has better camera. Telephoto lens of Google is let down. It captures horrible grainy video in slight low light, also the portrait mode is disaster.
Xiamoi is miles ahead! in most pictures here you can clearly see that everything has much more details. Pixel tries to comensapte with AI but its just not enough. Xiamoi clear winner for me
How are they compared to the OnePlus 12, and Nubia 60 Ultra, and perhaps even the newest Nubia S60 Pro? Asking because the OnePlus and the Nubia phones are getting quite good reviews and they cost less than the Pixel and the Xiaomi phones 🙂
Pixel 8 Pro wins easily. And anyone who thinks they're going to get optimum performance by leaving the cameras on full auto is really missing out. Not to mention that the camera layout is much better on the Pixel, as is the plain vanilla Android OS.
In night mode, Xiaomi performed much better due to its ability to show the words on signs clearly, while Pixel was so overexposed that we could only see highlights.
It's been launched in Malaysia months ago. But the sales volume isn't that great and a lot less than S24 Ultra. I even saw more people using the Pixel 8 Pro (that is not even officially on sale here) than a Mi14 Ultra 😅 especially in urban areas.
@azimayman407 probably xiaomi were slow in their release. I bought my s24 ultra and then boom! 14 ultra comes 2 months later. Now i felt like a bit regret buying the s24 ultra. Not that s24 is not good. But it a bit pricier than xiaomi 14 ultra to get the same amount of greatness
@sidniysack I see. Yes, they're a bit late, but I still knew that they would be globally available. I would choose Samsung over Xiaomi because of the pre-order deals that allow me to get the S24 Ultra for under RM5k, which is cheaper than the 14 Ultra. The S24 Ultra has stylus capabilities with anti-reflective glass and more beautiful, DSLR-like camera processing (but I must say that my family likes the S23 Ultra more due to its vibrant photos). I wish to return to Xiaomi soon, but only if they provide more complete and refined software (especially in third-party social media apps). However, I would like to try the 9 Pro XL as soon as it's officially available in Malaysia.

Neither is anything even remotely close to a mirrorless/DSLR camera.

Best Android experience is IMO the Nothing phone line. Followed by Google Pixels. Then maybe OnePlus.
