This is going to be a really good series for me. I've been wanting a simple but functional outdoor kitchen incorporating my composting process; meaning a garbage disposal that allows me to cut up food waste outside so I can use it in the worm bin, rather than flush it into the sewage system. I liked the wash station they had in Va., and I kind of incorporated some of that so that it would be dual function. I'm a city dweller, so bits and pieces work and a few don't but it's great for ideas, you can't beat these two for functionality and common sense! And Hollis is so meticulous about everything, he's easy to follow. Can't wait for this one to be finished. The plans look interesting.

Hollis, great video. I like to watch for the building projects you do as well as the critters. I live in central FL on the east coast and have a small homestead up near the GA border that I get to go to about once or twice a month. It's about 250 miles from my house or else I would be there just about every week. Once we can retire I'll move there. This outdoor kitchen is perfect for our property and I really look forward to this build. Keep up the great work.

@@HollisNancysHomestead Our property is actually further west. We are about half way between Lake City and Valdosta and about 15 miles north of Live Oak. When we "go to town" we usually go to Live Oak but if we need a bigger town we go to Valdosta. I love that area.
When we commute up there we go through Jax most of the time but if we take the back roads to avoid the heavy Jax traffic we go through Palatka.

Hey Hollis, Love your build episodes. I will say, for those that don't like looking at the plans, and then watch in amazement as to how effortlessly it seems you build it,, look at the list of materials. They are ALMOST, listed in the exact order of what to cut first, then cut next and assemble and so on. I say almost simply because the filler pieces on the outside of the legs on the end, to attach the plywood, aren't in the list of materials. NOT being critical, just remembering my Woodshop teacher in High School rules. Any omissions in the original list of materials on original submission of plans, was cause for a FAIL grade on the project!!!!! No matter HOW good, it turned out!! LOL And people wonder why I am OCD!!! OH, and switch #5, and #6. Can't measure and cut the angled braces, until the cross braces at the top are in place. DANG OCD!! Great build Hollis, and Thank You both for the episode, and cant wait to see the rest. Mark

That's the problem we have. My son is 6 ft 3, hubby is 5 ft 10 1/2, and I am 5 ft 3. My hubby tends to build everything for tall people.

Thank you Mary for watching for so many years. You are a loyal friend. I know the sketches are boring to many of our subscribers but please keep in mind, many folks are planning to build these projects for their own homestead and/or backyard. The explanation and detailed sketches help them be more successful with their build. If you could fast forward through the technical explanation you may enjoy these types of videos a little better. These videos are part of our journey here bringing our new homestead to life. Each of the builds in the days ahead will bring us one step closer to bringing you the vegetable growing videos you so desire. The vegetable videos will be coming out this year. It may be fun for you when you see the components being used in the videos and remember back to when we built them together. ❤️ Anyway, we appreciate you watching and really look forward to sharing many vegetable growing videos with you again starting this year.
