Hello Hollis and Nancy this is Joseph Ruiz from Kenner Louisiana and I wanted to thank you so much for all the videos I have watched over the last two years and I've learned a lot. I've also lost well over a hundred pounds eating the vegetables I grow. I was hoping you would watch my video that i made of my garden and let me know what you think of it. A videod this a few hours ago and the name of my video is Ruiz Garden tour. I was 480 lb last year and with all the help from y'all. All of youlls videos pretty much saved my life thank you all and God bless you so very much
Hollis is an awesome builder. So inspiring. I want a smaller version of every table he has build. That would make me so happy. Many blessing to you Hollis and Nancy! Donna
At 0:37, I just noticed Nancy standing under the sign that says, "A fisherman lives here with the best catch of his life." And she's the "catch." LOVE IT!
Another great build! Hollis is fun to watch (he makes it look easy) which I am sure it is not THAT easy. The table looks like it will get well used and do the job.! As Hollis said, it is time to plant and grow things to harvest, wash, prep, and eat...I'm looking forward to seeing the results of all this planning and hard work. Bless you!
I'm going to build me one of these tables. I like that it's sturdy and, like Hollis said, it'll last. One and done! I'm going to probably make it half the size.
Hollis I hope you plan to publish that book of yours. Lots of very good useful project plans and lessons learned gardening information. Glory be to God.
Thanks for sharing with us Hollis and Nancy, you’re building for lots of growing of fruits and vegetables! Sure will be something to see at harvest time 👍👍.
For drainage second guess your fine work, I'd tilt the surports in the middle that surport the rabbit wire so water and dirt drain out and away from the wire and more dirt don't get caught in the rabbit wire. Except the brace drainage that I can can say your design and craftsmanship Sir is " Alsome" and will work for many seasons. Thanks for Both of you for the fine videos.
Happy Mother's Day, Nancy! What are you feeding this guy!?! Where does all of that energy come from? He's like the Energizer Bunny. He just keeps going and going. Bravo. for the dedication to The Dream! Love following along. So much better than commercial TV!
I've been watching y'all at least two years now maybe more and I have to say I've never seen you look healthier! Awesome homestead too. I'm about an hour or so south of you so I'm just gonna call you neighbor ❤
once again, there is a wonderfull job done with years of work done on it.I have never been disappointed watching these builds and pipe and clearing.allways in wonder WHATS NEXT?God bless three of you as the journey continues.
That would make a nice elevated grow box for people like me who have a bad back and arthritis in their knees and can’t kneel to garden, adjust the height for how tall you are, I’m tall my husband made mine 39 inches tall at the top (perfect for me, no bending or stretching) 3’ wide and 8’ long, 10’ long would be better, this way you bring the garden up to you. This would get a lot of people gardening who stoped because of arthritis and bad backs. I hope you will make one to show another way for old or disabled people to garden. Cindy
WOW!! Last time I saw you guys you were living in the city?? What happened?? P.S...I swear men think up projects just to play with their big boy toys!! LOL!!
Love it AGAIN!! Do you have a designated area you sit in when you want to enjoy sitting in all the things growing? I’m really wanted to just sit and watch everything when I want to be alone and with my family. Looking for ideas!!!! Thank you for another great video and happy Mother’s Day Nancy. From me and my four boys we hope you are filled with appreciation and tender kindness.
We have a couple of spots we like. One is by the camp fire out on Camp Palmer. We also like to sit under the big oak tree by the burn pit. I plan to build a swing for us when I get finished.
Hello!!!! New to your videos and can't get enough! .. I do have a question. It may have been asked before, but as I mentioned, I'm a new fan.... what do you do with all of your beautiful harvest? You have so much!! Love you both! Cheryl
Hollis, that is one fine looking wash table. I have a question for you though, You also used pressure treated wood on you quail processing table so I wanted to make sure that you are aware that the chemicals they use to treat the wood is toxic and should not be used around food or even indoors. The greenish treated wood is a CCA treatment (chromated copper arsenate) and is water soluble. I think the other treated wood is Penta treated since the creosote treatment isn't sold any more. Please be careful with the sawdust and the wood around food. ... Jim
I was under the impression CCA was discontinued in 2003, I found this when I went to verify. Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) was the primary method of treating lumber until the EPA worked with manufacturers to phase out it's use in 2003. Personally, I think all the longer the food will come in contact with the lumber while washing it should not have any sort of effect on it, the food will mostly be touching the screen, not the wood. Good advice though about the CCA, it still may be available in some places that had a lot of it unsold, or previously purchased and stuck aside, and when not used sold by the original purchaser.
Hollis, I used the tightmesh shelves to build mine. Heavier gauge wire and it won't rust like hardware cloth. Even the vinyl coated hardware or cage wire will rust within 2 years of use. Mine is 8' long and 40' wide.I used 2 shelves zip tied together.
Love, love, love your videos! So inspirational, thank you so much! I am in Virginia too, what city are you in? Do you all sell your veggies? I am in the Fredericksburg, VA area. Can I come by and purchase veggies?
Do yall have any videos coming up bout starting seeds? Ive been having a real hard time lately getting my seeds to sprout weather direct sowing or starting in trays. I dont know if ants are eating them or if there coming up and being mowed down by some bug before i get a chance to see it.
@@HollisNancysHomestead do you have any tips on how to keep my seeds/seedlings from being eaten? I think it might be ants thag are destroying all my seeds i direct sow and all the seedling coming up. I tried the toothpick trick and it worked over night but half way thru today i walked out and one of my watermelon seeds was limed over and the base was eaten when this morning it was perfectly fine.

It has lasted 4 year and still no rust except for the end edges but it's covered by the wood lip.
Will keep that in mind whenever I have to replace the hardware cloth.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY NANCY, HOLLIS HOW MUCH WEIGHT HAVE YOU LOST YOUR LOOKING GOOD
That's going to be so satisfying to fill up, no more looking for a place to drain them.

Curious what model Dewalt saw you're using?
It's on our Amazon prime storefront
You guys got stock and pressure treated lumber lol
Thank you, again, Nancy and Hollis! Really like this table. Straightforward and sturdy. What was the spacing for the hardware cloth?
1/2”
How you store the cabbage?
Nancy ferments some but we eat it quick. It keeps on the refrigerator for a week or so. We share with others too
CAN YOU PUT SOME ROLLER ON IT SO YOU CAN PUSH IT
When are gardening videos starting?
We are working on them now. We will start releasing very soon
