Happiness is TK Friiday. I am always impressed with how you take simple steps and combine them to create a complex, and beautiful, solution. Your creativity is amazing. Your teaching style is wonderful in that you always encourage experimenting. (Sort of like seasoning when cooking food. A little spice makes a big difference.). Thanks Dave!
Your usual opening move of using the Color Grading Tool through a Mids 3 mask puts the image into such a nice starting place. It’s as brilliant as it is simple. I call it the “Dave Pop” move.
As usual, you knock you to your knees with simple solutions. Of course I'm using color grending and everything else from TK8 and it's your credit. You even persuaded me to take extraordinary action with your actions and I found a translator application on my mobile phone to be able to use your friend's training videos, because I don't know the English language. I am waiting for the next films of your performance and as usual greetings from hot Poland from the city of "Fortress Przemyśl". Ps. As a painting teacher, you are Awesome and keep doing that.
Another good lesson! Thanks! I'd like to mention it, that not only my learning be on PS techniques, but also through your artistic eye of troubleshooting. The last part of the class you fixed the tone of further mounting, the contract of the hay bale, and soften the clouds. All those dramatically made the image stronger. I appreciated.
Dave. Another great video. I look so forward to every TK Friday. Once again your style of teaching is fantastic. Best on UTube. No one but you takes the time and effort to create notes and with such patient explanations. If one of your goals is to get folks excited and motivated to go out and take photos I'd say you've doing a fantastic job. Please keep it up. Thanks Dave
Perhaps I'm finally getting the hang of it! I was able to work on this image simultaneously with you most of the time! That means I'm understanding the panel better; that's all thanks to you, Dave!
Thanks for the notes Dave even my husband has been following them, he just gets lost reading through steps, so thanks for making them so simple to follow.
Thank you Dave! Excellent tutorial and new tricks to improve our Images, thank you for all your help. I watch your videos over and over to really learn everything. I love TK Friday
Dave, I usually find a hidden gem of a tip in each of your videos. This one however is just one HUGE gem. .......and thank you ever so much for including the notes. Like I have mentioned before, it may be some time before I want to try one of these techniques and the notes will be very helpful in finding what I looking for. As ever I appreciate the time and effort you put into your tutorials..
Hello Dave still an excellent tutorials, explanations still so clear, thank you for spending a lot of time when creating tutorials, very good idea to add the notes.
Another great one👍🏻 I was a little intimidated at first by the TK8 Panel, but with your videos explain it in such a practical way that I am not scared of it anymore 😀 I love your Notes, use them as a guideline on images that are similar to the ones you edited. Now I would really love to get my hands on all your notes 😀 so I can print out my Dave’s Guide, hell I would even buy such a book.
Great video Dave and the really appreciate your inclusion of the practice image notes in the lesson. I find that this helps me understand the techniques more thoroughly. Cheers, Keith
Absolutely fantastic again. Your notes take these tutorials to another level. This is a first for me on UA-cam. Also I like the note style of images with text. Just last night I was giving my club a tutorial and lost my place a couple of times as I'd written it all down with no images. So you've provided me with another tip without knowing it. Thanks once again.
Love the notes which I use on my second monitor. The Color grading tool is simply magical with Tony's TK8 panel. The Linear profiles take away contrast so I think everyone is behind you using this first with a mid-tone 3 to protect highlights. Thank you so much for all your great teaching and hard work.
Dave- thank you for the time you put into these tutorials. The addition of your notes along with the practice images takes your videos to the next level on UA-cam. Always look forward to your tips and excellent step by step demonstration of the magic the can be created by Tony's TK-8 panel
Thank you, Mr. Kelly. Knowing what to do and how to can make a huge difference in the final result of an image, even a dull one. And, by the way, you providing the notes is a great idea. Thanks for that also. Best regards from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil.
Hi Dave, Thanks again for another great video. I have been following all your TK8 videos and others for some time and enjoy them immensely. I have started playing a little game with myself where I try and guess what edits and what tools you will use and guess correctly quite often. Now I find that when editing my own images I think to myself "what would Dave do" 🙂 WWDD
A big THANK YOU for doing such a great job of explaining the different methods of using the TK8 panel. I jumped on the TK bandwagon at about TK4 and love each subsequent release. Your explanations and examples really show what is possible with the TK8 panel and PhotoShop. You've mentioned that you work with a Wacom tablet and I would appreciate a tutorial on the most effective way to set it up. I've looked at other photo tutorials for the tablet but I'm having difficulty integrating it into my editing style. (LR, PS with TK8 and Topaz plugins). Thanks for all your great work on the TK8 tutorials!
I like how you adjusted the sky and applied a Mid-3 mask. It provides better control in the sky. I also liked the isea of adding Mid-1 mask to the Orton effect. Thank for the class notes and the wonderful tutorial. You truly are an edit master.
Thank you for yet another great TX8 Friday video. As always something new and fantastic job in reviving the rather dull image. The great thing is that all these tools can be easily integrated into any workflow. Love the use of the Gradient Tool - saves having to go to ACR. The only difference I made was to use Bend-if to lift the deeper shadows a little and give it a more natural feel - not sure if you will agree. Again thanks and looking forward to the next.
Thanks Dave for the notes. Im using them more than I thought. My process is to watch your video first. Then read and work through the notes section by section trying to remember without referring back to video or notes. If I cant remember I will refer to notes or video. This process works for me and helps me to remember your thinking and process better. Cheers.
Hello Dave, another great tutorial, Friday cannot come soon enough. But I do have a question Dave. Since watching your channel I am doing most of my photo editing in PS using Tony Kuypers TK8 Plugin. What I wouldf like to know is if you would be prepared to do a critique on images that have been processed with the TK8 Panel. I could use some guidance in determining what to improve or change. I find your process of defining problems in the photos facinating. Would really appreciate hearing from you. Regards Geoff Dawes
Great video as usual. I tried following along with my own image and was able to do it but I think one suggestion if I may. Setting up the workspace they way you have it would be helpful. I did it as well as I could and saved it in PS as a workspace. I think a tutorial on creating a "Dave Kelly TK Workspace" would be great. It's a bit hard to see the icons on the screen, even my 27" so if the workspace was the same as yours it would be a bit easier to find the one you are using. Yes, the notes are a great help but since my workspace is the same a yours now, it makes things easier. Also, I think many people need to organize their workspace like yours to be more efficient. Thanks for all you do.
Another great tutorial. For the edge halo, I have freuqently used the clone stamp tool withOUT a selection, but blend mode DARKER. It usually works, but your approach might be better!
Great video Dave. Thank you, I'm regularly using your tip to increase the contrast ( midtones 3 and color grading wheels ) specially after I use the linear profile 😊
Another great tutorial Dave! Just watched it and am looking forward to going through it with the image tomorrow. Quick question… you mentioned using a “reverse clarity’ action and I recall you using it in a recent tutorial but can’t remember the little trick to it. Would you be able to tell me the steps to do so?
Thanks Jorge, here is the link on how I made the Before/After Action: ua-cam.com/video/INQcl4JFAQI/v-deo.html Here is the Link for the FREE Before/After Action: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EkUXWtC9rA6aWZv_Msc53CWx-KaXLlP0
Love your videos, I’m new to photography and using photoshop. I’ve been looking at this PS panels ,I know you use the TK8 , but in your opinion , what do you think about this other ps panels out there. Are there as good or better than TK8 ? Thanks for your help . Much appreciate it 😁
this doesn't have anything to do with today's tutorial. A good while back you did an impressionistic painting of a cathedral, with people in front of it, in Topaz Studio 2. If you still have that painting, add Steve Dell's color sketch in Photoshop on top of it. It looks really great! When I did it I removed the effect from the sky..but with the sky effect removed or left in it still looks great. great.

Hi Dave, dropbox link ,, PDF NOTES,, is not working.
The link works for me on the other computer. So everything is fine.
How do I save this without using drop ?
If you download it to your computer you should be able to save it like normal and not to the dropbox, if I am understanding you correctly.
