Looks like a nice stereo. I would give up as soon as I saw all the wires. Informative video.
You don’t need to buy anything extra like a micro bypass or toggle,
So basically have the parking brake wire tapped into a ground connection, but make it a loose or easily removable connection. Power on the vehicle and remove the connection to the ground. Then reconnect it causing the safety feature within the radio to release everything thinking the vehicle is actually fully parked when really it’s just the grounding bypass trick 👌🏼
Great video! Was looking for help on this on MY 2004 mustang. So this is as about as close to what i'm going to be doing as possible hehe
Thank you man this was perfect
Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
Thanks. Needed a little help. I have the Alpine i209 I just installed with the Alpine combination brake light, back up camera. Alpine was no help at all. Wouldn’t read the canbus for automatic. And this was the easiest solution. It worked without a flaw. I have a 2015 Jeep JK 2dr. My next part is to install the amp.
Thanks for the help.
So it didn’t affect your back up camera in any way ?
Now I know what I did wrong. Mine didn’t work when I first did it. I’ll have to go in and give it a try again later
can i use thats bypass while im using pac rp4-mz11 interface ?

Thanks for this! I just bought a car whose stereo was an alpine ilx-007. The wiring is a mess but it does have the same bypass you showed…and to make things worse, I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m learning. I used a power supply to test the head unit at home and there is power to the few buttons, but there is no display. Would this be because the wires for the bypass aren’t hooked up when I’m testing the unit? Do you think there should still be an image with just power hooked up (positive and negative)? Thanks
Did you have to connect the blue/white wire from the bypass and connect it to the cars solid blue from the antenna and the blue/white from the car, then connect all three of those to the blue/white wire from the alpine ?
Did you ever figure this out? I have the same question
Do you know if the yellow/black wire needs to be connected? Don't think my Alpine ILX-107 has that wire.
Here's my guess:
Yellow/black = foot brake
Yellow/blue = handbrake
My alpine doesn't have yellow and black.... So what should I do?
Question is WHY is this even required? WHY are certain settings greyed out to begin with? This fuckery should not even be required.
My alpine DOES NOT have the yellow and black.. but the bypass I have is the same as yours.. Says you don't use that on my MODEL alpine.. INE960hdmi
Just curious how you resolved that, as I have the same issue.
Not all of them have yellow and black, mine didnt so I just capped it off and wired the other 3 and it worked
Black and yellow is for a foot parking brake, yellow and blue is for a handbrake
Can't seem to buy this in canada? Wtf? Now I gotta dig around this fkn jeep to find these stupid fucking wires?
