    The 18-gallon Project Source totes you mention will not fit side by side on these shelves. They must have changed the dimensions of the totes because they're too tall and wide. They're 15.4 inches tall and there's only 14.5 inches between shelves. They're 16.9 inches wide, so two side-by-side are 33.8 inches, and you said there's only 33 inches across for totes.

    Thanks for the informative video. I’ve seen some use a spacer in between deck boards. Not necessary?

    • @TheEclecticHandyman
      @TheEclecticHandyman 8 днів тому

      @@dodgers9302 The reason I didn't use a spacer is because this is pressure treated lumber that's still wet, and as it dries it will shrink up to 1/2" give or take. Wet boards should be laid up against each other and as they dry, the gap occurs naturally. If you're using kiln dried wood, then you'd want to use spacers. Thanks for watching! 🛠️

    I have an embarrassing admission: I just unboxed my new saw today - this same model - and the first thing I did was loosen the miter lock handle too much and the nut fell off. Is there a simple way to reattach the nut? I'm thinking I'm probably going to have to take off the locking mechanism (two phillips head screws and two hex bolts) to fix it, but I'm hesitant to take it apart even more and risk making the situation even worse. Advice on a simple way to reattach the nut?

    • @TheEclecticHandyman

      @@JamesLord1968 You are not alone because I did the EXACT same thing! The miter lock handle is disengaged and will not tighten. How would you remove rusty nails without damaging or removing the boards?

    • @TheEclecticHandyman
      @TheEclecticHandyman 21 день тому

      It's in my experience difficult to do unless the head of the nail is already above the board. Then you can use a buffer piece of wood to pry against and protect the board. Some folks will flip the boards and use the underside, but wood on decks is naturally cupped per the grain and how they grew, so usually the rings point down. If it's just a board or two the cost of new boards is nominal so I try and replace, plus it adds longevity vs. using an older board. Thanks for watching! 🛠️
