  • If you need the power of the Lewmar ProFish 1000 but want to use a smaller line, changing the chainwheel to a 1/4" chainwheel could help. Or if it's needed for maintenance or repair, here is how to do it.

Somewhat informative, but the technician seems a little uncertain of the names of the parts! Not to be too critical, but a script or someone with
the absolute knowledge of the product, will tend to demand the confidence of the viewer! Thanks for considering my comments.

Hello, for some reason this comment got added to my spam folder. Thanks for commenting. This was my first attempt at YT. I have made a few more videos since, which were more scripted and I use editing software to keep the video concise. Have a look and let me know your thoughts. I appreciate the constructive criticism. Your comment will make me a better YouYuber. Thanks again. ua-cam.com/video/Ye-o3KdEzDI/v-deo.html

Do you think I could replace the pro fish 700 motor with a pro fish 1000 motor? Do you think it would phisically fit? My thoughts are if they are the same body a 1000 motor should fit?

Yes, it will- just expect a little less pull power. Great question.

Very helpful video, I think the last 30 seconds of your video is what I should have heard when buying my boat with the Lewmar on it.

I have a problem with the motor, can you use this windlass manually to let the anchor fall freely and then take it up ?

Sorry Noro, just found your comment in the spam folder. Unfortunately, without the motor working you can not lift the anchor up. The clutch wrench that comes with the unit only loosen and tighten the gypsy cap, but will not lift the anchor. Hope this helps.

@@Darkhorsemarine Thanks but in the meantime I've changed my electric windlass for a manual Royal Lofrans.

Nice video, will both chainwheels accept the sane rope or can u get different combinations for rope and chain

Hi Scott. The different chainwheels accept different combinations of rope and chain. Some people switch from the 5/16" chainwheel for one that accepts the smaller 1/4" chain so that they can get more rode into their anchor locker. Thanks for the question!
