- 2003 Saturn Vue Electrical systems acting up.
Saturn Vue Electrical System acting up. This happened after the original alternator failed and was replaced. Turns out, the new alternator was defective (with a bad voltage regulator) and that's why these problems were happening. Took it back to my dealership and they swapped out with another alternator and everything works fine now. No charge since the original repair was under warranty.
Thank you hopefully that's what is wrong with mine ... Fingers crossed

i just changed the water pump, geez again take out the mounts
You said you had replaced the Body Control Module in the past. How did you know you needed to have a new Body Control Module put in?
The car was acting like it was haunted. Locks would engage and disengage spontaneously, odometer, speedometer and tachometer would power off, flashers would go on and off, radio, etc.
Did you figure it out? Was it the BCM again...?
All these issues are just made conducting surface on controlling parts. Its never done but if you got a meter out you would never see the correct specs. Work great when they do but usually takes a couple brains to figure out bc its not consistent

Gary Semerad Sorry, haven't updated the channel in a while. The original is was an alternator failure (of which, I cant complain, because it had 225,000 miles on. The alternator was replaced by a dealership in Knoxville, TN and it got me home to Atlanta. It started acting up. Took it to my dealership here in Atlanta (Jim Ellis -- expensive, but honest, good work) and it turns out that the replacement alternator had a defective voltage regulator. They swapped it out and now everything is back to normal. No charge since the original repair was by a fellow Mr. Goodwrench. 8,000 miles later, still OK.

So it was a faulty alternator ?
Yep. Original alternator died and was replaced by Chevy dealer in Knoxville. It acted up from the getgo. Took it to my Atlanta dealer and they discovered that the "new" alternator had a bad voltage regulator. They swapped another one in and no further problems.

My car is doing that but won't even start could I ask you what kind of problems you where having with it could be mine and can I find other parts of this video I see you have 3 I believe.
My 2007 Saturn had this problem it was the alternator, Alternator can't put out more than 105 - 110 amps. OEM Alternator is a DENSO, Had to get it from Rock Auto.

I found a company from New Jersey on Ebay that sold me a refurbished one for $250 plus cost at dealer to program it for my car at $125. Now my 2003 Vue runs ok. Dealer wanted $1200 for that same part.
