2003 Saturn Vue Electrical Systems acting up Part 2

Saturn Vue Electrical System acting up. This happened after the original alternator failed and was replaced. Turns out, the new alternator was defective (with a bad voltage regulator) and that's why these problems were happening. Took it back to my dealership and they swapped out with another alternator and everything works fine now. No charge since the original repair was under warranty.

Its the Alternator. Another UA-cam Video DIYer posted that the Alternator cannot be an "Aftermarket" alternator. It has to be one specifically for a Saturn VUE either 4cylinder or V6. So buy a good used one out of a Saturn VUE.

On a 2003 Vue all you will be able to get is "aftermarket" since the company is no longer in business and GM no longer uses the specific engine model from the early 2000's, You just need to give the parts store the make/model/engine and year, the autoparts store will give you the right alternator for your car, if not... You gave them the wrong info...Could also be that the parts store hired an idiot that can't read?

Got to clean all the grounds you can find if you have to take out the carpet get up all the way up underneath the dash might be some ground wires going into a plug they all ground out together sometimes corrosion gets up in the ground plugs got to be careful looks like a plug but it don't go nowhere metal mounting bracket that grounds to the body had this problem with a lot of cars got a little more experience than others

Hello, I have a 2007 Saturn Vue been having the same problem. I drop it off to the shop they but a new alternator on it but my lights on my dash won't stay on. While I was driving my dashboard light would go out but if I was to brake and slow down they will but back on. Can you tell me what that is please??

At least yours is starting up mines is just cranking with the same issues... mines is a 2003 Saturn Vue V6 automatic. none of my gauges are working a my power steering is out. I tried resetting everything by disconnecting the battery that only worked a couple of times but, did not fix the issue. I took it to my mechanic and he said he replace the fuel harness or fix something on it but ,now I'm starting to believe that he just put a Band-Aid over the situation and did not fix anything my check engine light is on too and these codes popped up U2107,Po421,Po700.... any suggestions

Your BCM was probably bad, the fuses for the instruments, BCM, and HVAC are behind the passenger side left foot panel. I'd start with testing fuses and relays first then BCM, the BCM also stores mileage and must be set by the GM dealer or shop with ability to do a reset. (I'm sure that after 2 years you no longer have the car or the problem)

Bad alternator... If it was replaced, it was replaced with a faulty alternator.
