Unlike all the mistreated versions of Scarecrow, this one truly understands fear, and doesn't just use fear toxin as his only weapon. The mental manipulation in this game he uses with genuine fear makes him easily the best version of scarecrow to be on a TV screen. Maybe the best one in general. His character is done so well and they put so much thought and effort into it.
Precisely. It’s my personal opinion that Scarecrow is Batman’s number 2 villain. Of course Joker is the perpetual threat towards Batman but ultimately wants to continue that perpetual relationship. Scarecrow understands Batman’s fear tactics on a psychoanalytic basis. John Noble’s Scarecrow is the seething vestige of the Crane we saw back in Arkham Asylum. He hates Batman so much because Batman is the one thing he cannot subordinate and terrorize in a manner he finds satisfactory to his deranged need for absolute power over others. Joker is an ENTP who constantly improvises; his strategy is to create a big funhouse for Batman and improvise a warped hall of mirrors at the end to emphasize their conceptual proximity between the two characters of Batman and Joker. Scarecrow is the actual anti-Batman. He is deadly serious about his utter fear and distilled hatred for Batman, the one thing he cannot conquer to his satisfaction. Crane’s lack of physical menace makes him much scarier than otherwise, somehow. John Noble’s Scarecrow should be studied as a referent for any subsequent Batman films that may feature the character.

Scarecrow couldn't have cared less who Batman was, he just wanted to shatter his image of being the master of fear for criminals and hope for civilians. He wanted Batman living helpless.

The thugs in this game are less afraid of Batman as an idea, but a guy that will break your skull. While the citizens still view him as mystery hero that saves the day, instead of skilled person doing dirty work.
I know some people feel like he's boring in this game, but TBH I think he's one of the best incarnations of the character. Yes his fear toxin is incredibly potent, but even without it he's a master of fear, always two steps ahead, knows exactly what buttons to push with batman like kidnapping Barbara and using that to overcome both him and Commissioner, his design is great because he took the negative downsides of being mauled by croc and harnessed it to make himself look terrifying and unlike a person, a great mirror to batman not only with using fear as a weapon, but making himself look beyond a human being in the eyes of the people. Sure there may not be a gameplay moment as cool as asylum, but the final section where you play as joker was still really cool, and despite losing he won the war and defeated batman. This scarecrow was way more darker than any other versions of the character we have seen in the comics, movies, games, and other forms of media. Batman defeated scarecrow one final time in Arkham Knight and I honestly hope it was worth the price Batman had to go through
John Noble did an amazing job. Scarecrow in this game is downright bone-chillingly terrifying. And it makes it even more badass when Batman gets a direct injection of fear toxin and doesn't even flinch, showing that the only thing he really fears is letting down Gotham and those closest to him.
He breaks from stress and toxin and Joker gets loose. Scarecrow guesses that it doesn't work so new dose breaks Joker allowing original personality to return. Hence it looks like he shrugged it off. He didn't. Joker didn't.
Bruce believes in the principles of justice and right so he will be no different from the villains if he starts shooting their brains out. It would make him look like an actual vigilante, not a hero which defeats the purpose of seeking justice. In the comics, Batman is trying to create a society that operates on law and order, and they’ll view him as a threat if he starts taking lives with his own hands with a bounty painted on his cowl. That would be out of character for him breaking his no kill rule by murdering a supervillain for the first time, so I don’t think his life would be considered “easy” by any standards. Batman is a heroic crimefighter, not an executioner.
Wouldn’t be that easy because if Batman was a murderer his villains would also be worse by default and already abuse situations to prevent him from just doing that, they’d find ways like maybe even learning to use hostages more.

Bro, arkham batman is not fucking human 😂😂. He has to have powers.
Hes kinda hot
Maybe it is strange, but YES
Why did he tie her hands? It’s not like she can get up from that chair?
I kinda liked him more in Asylum
They were both wonderful for different reasons?
why is he so
So Waht?
So… Joker and Batman share a body?
no, Batman was infected with Scarecrows fear toxin, and Batmans greatest fear was becoming like Joker. so he suffered hallucinations of Joker and was "becoming" like Joker. Nonetheless, he resisted the fear toxin and managed to rid Joker from his mind
Ahhh.
@@yappingsteakTo be fair the Joker virus also plays a part.
Where ioundtrack ?

I'm only ten minutes in, so I'll keep an open mind, but honestly, I found his endless monologuing about fear boring. I like the character design and the voice acting, but generally when Batman villains go on and on like this, I don't like it. (Most of them are guilty of it, too- The Talon, The Joker, etc.)
"Martha"
WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!
Doesn't have music. Dislike.
Personal opinion the worst choice for the main villain 🙄 especially considering how he was in the first game (still acted very well here) but a lot of times throughout the gameplay was like *Bro Shut Up Already* !
I hated how they changed scarecrows appearance and voice. He looked and sounded terrifying in asylum but stupid in this.
What’s wrong with his voice and appearance in this game?
I mean look at Knight Scarecrow. He looks like a freaking zombie. How's he not scary?
Um in asylum he looked cartoonish here is more realistic
I like both, the only thing I'm disappointed about is not having an actual boss fight with Scarecrow or another platform game like in Asylum.
