- In this video we came back from a day of garage selling out of town to find the best deals and stuff in our own backyard! This particular garage sale had video games, toys, and nerdy collectibles!

The goal of reselling is to make money. Why on earth would you not pay 1 dollar for something worth 10 million. It is not your duty to make strangers more money, it is on them. And you are completely wrong anyway. 120 is a great deal for the GARAGE SALE sellers. You are selling in a GARAGE SALE. The buyer will make maybe 80 bucks if hes lucky after fees so truly you are completely ignorant to the value here. The d.s and gameboy are both in crappy shape.. Hell break even on the red and consoles..and the crappy games nobody wants anymore will be the gravy.
Besides the point grow a pair, business is business...no one who owns a business is going to give you the best deal..they will do what gets them the job in the first place and the amount that can make them the most without risking the job.

I gave him an offer and he had the power to say no, yes, or counter. He looked up prices so was aware what his items were worth. Red can be with that much depending on condition, functionality, and state of the save batteries which are all unknowns.

Can't stand when the sellers don't do their research and then guilt trip you after the sale. We don't go search through random garage sales to pay eBay prices.

Yes, thankfully it wasn't her stuff. The son was much more reasonable than her. Actually when the camera wasn't rolling I showed her how to look up eBay solds and then after we bought it the stuff you see on video was her again just looking at Google image prices LOL.

Haha you have to be a glutton for punishment knowing what type of comments you'd be getting :D. Again, great find and a deal you won't come across often. Had all that stuff sat on the table prices for $120, each and every person would of grabbed it and walked away with a happy grin on their faces. Only because you made an offer do people somehow think you're walking away with major bank. Possibly $100-$150 NET Profit after all fees and expenses isn't exactly something I'd consider a major score, and as far as game prices go there is no one to blame but the collectors themselves that continue to buy it all.
The DSi sat out for like 5 hrs before we got there because no one wants to gamble on untested hardware for $100. But I agree with your estimation of profit. It's not like I'm winning the lottery with this sale by any means. And I don't mind the comments you gotta have tough skin to post anything for the world to see! Thanks for the comment and watching!
For the ps2, GBA & POKÉMON Red is worth about 200. However, after ebay fees, shipping, gas and time, they would net about $120 profit. In my humble opinion, as an ebay eseller, you would probably make about $60 profit on on this deal(from the DS). I completely understand the moms apprehension. Games are now like comics were in the 90s, everyone thinks their collection is worth 1000s, especially those who are uninformed.
The point of us going to these garage sales is to profit and with games a profit is a gamble due to condition and functionality of untested items. I would say you are pretty accurate in your assumptions of profit.

Nobody told her to have 6 kids and struggle then sell stuff at a garage sale instead of be lazy and put online. If you knew anything 120 is actually overpaying and the only people who would pay more are nerds desperate to buy and sell games. Considering the condition 120 is great and the gravy is in the crappy games and I dont even bother trying to sell those anymore.

Yeah I’m with everyone else screw you re-sellers; it’s one thing to pick up games play them then go I’ll sell it for what I paid for but to just try and resale for top dollar because it’s your job. Get a real job and let some neighborhood kid find some old games at a fair price
Just because you don't believe it's a real job means nothing. Reselling is one of the oldest professions there is. Resellers help collectors find items that they otherwise would not be able to. Also a neighborhood kid has no desire to buy this kind of stuff because they would rather be playing PS5 or other modern stuff.

I became a reseller to fund my collection. My collection was used to relive my childhood so I'm not sure why you think you know me when you clearly don't.

You are using words like can and saying I ripped someone off. It can sell for that or when we get a charger and find out it doesn't work it can sell for barely anything for parts. @@RetroRewinder you know broken GBA SP 001 sell easily for $40-$50 on ebay. sold plenty of them myself. that buy at $120 was a no risk deal. you cant lose money selling all of it on ebay.
It's always a risk to buy untested electronics. Even if they can sell for parts it's not going to sell for as much as a working one. I don't go to garage sales to make 10-20% profit. That would not be worth my time, effort, or gas.

It doesn't really matter if they are built like tanks or not. That GBA is over 20 years old and I come across then quite often when they don't work. And condition whether it's cosmetic or not always effects the price of what things sell for. Pokemon Red can easily be a fake or have a dead save battery which will also effect what it's worth. And it's not enough to just not lose anything. If I buy a lot stuff and break even I automatically lost due to my time, gas, and wear and tear on my vehicle.

I can see where a lot of these commenters are coming from in their dislike of the price negotiation but you have to think if he's not keeping those for himself then he has to resell and deal with fees and for me personally I replace all the save batteries and clean up the contacts so that more time invested as well. Time is money. Most of the time if they bring something out on a ask then they are ready to let it go. People that aren't ready to sell will refuse to show the items to you. My only problem with this deal and the click bait is saying she's trying to ruin the sale when it fact she is doing her due diligence to make sure her son gets the most out of it. Nothing wrong with that. And it's not like it's a random lady, it's his mother who was most likely the original purchaser of these items anyways.
The problem with a lot of resellers, not reselling itself, is that they deal without a conscience. They're scam artists. Everything they're reselling has a pretty set market value, they know that value and they intentionally seek out people who don't, in order to, for no lack of a better word, rip them off. I resell too. Of course we want to make money, because at the end of the day it's a job. But I was taught to make an "honest dollar", and to not abandon my conscience for greed. Yes, we have some fees dealing with places like ebay and whatnot. Yes, we value our time... but it's not right to think every second of your day is a second you should be paid for. My actual job doesn't pay for my gas, or miles I put on my car to get to and from work. I have to work for that money to pay for my gas. Driving around to yard sales shouldn't be factored into the profits, unlike uber which is a job about driving. A lot of people can twist things to make them sound okay, and that's how they get into this guy's mindset. "It's okay to rip the lady off... if she's willing to take that lowball amount." No, actually it's not, b/c he had the information and she didn't. It's never okay to intentionally take advantage of another person. And there's a difference between lowballing, and someone who just wants something gone so much they don't care about the price.

Trust me brother I’m not part of the circle that says “you shouldn’t given them more” but your negotiation tactics are slightly aggressive. You know dang well you will make half your money back on the Pokémon Red ALONE. And it don’t matter about the condition of Advance SP shells anymore unless you are that inept at replacing the shells. And for your info I know the guy owns the games but she is the original buyer of the stuff unless you believe a he bought himself when he was a kid. She understands there is a market now and you want to fault her for it.

He also states in the video multiple times that he is aware of values and checks eBay sold listings to get those values. So how am I seeking out a person that doesn't know market value? And then claiming that a reseller should not take into account drive time, wear and tear on a vehicle is ludacris. A normal job typically consists of driving to work them driving home. When I garage sale on Thursdays and Fridays I typically drive from 7:00 in the morning till about 4:00 in the afternoon. Also a normal jobs pays you by the hour so every second of your work day is paid for. You make assumptions about myself and the seller with nothing to back them up except your feelings.
