My man is always saying that he never expected to live past 30 and didn't care if he didn't until we got together. He has a very dangerous job. Tree climber. He says now he makes extra effort to come home safe. I played this for him and he cried. He doesn't do that.. This is our song. Thank you

This song really hits home. I just turned 29 on March 20th, and I thought I would never make it. I've dealt with guilt from my past, and grief from losing my Dad and my Sister. This song brings me peace of mind. Thank you Mr. Church for providing music that leaves an everlasting impact on the world.

This man doesn't have a genre. He's his own special kind of artist. An artist who's in love with music. If you listen to his new album (Mr. Misunderstood) it's clear to see that he had many influences besides country artist. He loves all music. Every song he sings he has a reason behind it. Not because he's country, not because he drinks, not because he loves women. Most artist these days don't even write there own songs but my man Church here always pitches in. They may not be fully his but he participates. He just doesn't let Nashville push him around. He makes his music and only other people who love music and really get this guy are gonna be his fans. He is truly the best artist in the 21st century and that's my opinion.

Bryce McElwee Most people collaborate when writing songs. Its not a bad thing.

    • @brycemcelwee3358
      @brycemcelwee3358 7 років тому +3

Collaboration isn't a bad thing but its not a good thing when the artist just sings someone else's song. Like when an artist let's someone else write the whole song and they sing it like its there's. Church isn't like that. Almost every song he sings he had something to do with it.

"The Outsiders" may be one of the best country albums this millenium. Eric Church is so true and genuine in a time where country music is going in a pop direction. Don't get me wrong, I love the likes of Blake Shelton and Keith Urban, but I don't think Waylon done it that way... ;-)

  • @brantlycoston4631

The reason people like EC is because we can relate to his music. Unlike all the other country artists who grab a song off the record label. This guy does what he wants and how he wants. He connects with people. All these other country pop love songs today are trash. It's the meaning of the lyrics, it's about being a true artist. And in this case, Eric. You are the true artist. Thank You!

This song has me stunned. I see those two kids as my son and daughter who lost their dad to a motorcycle accident 2 yrs. ago. My son had just turned 3, my daughter was just 8 mo. old. The video shows two adults who's lives were affected by a loss at a young age and each date is another moment in their lives. I thank the Lord that my children have each other to lean on when things get rough because I know this will be a long and difficult journey without their dad. I'll be here as long as I'm allowed, and they will always have me, but to have each other will prove crucial.....this is a POWERFUL song.

Your the first modern nashville country artist who's album I ever purchased and that was the Outsiders. Your the only one I think can claim the outlaw title in Mainstream country music today! This song gets to me and I don't have a wife or kids or a woman in my life. I always thought I would die young. But now I am getting old. My mom just died yesterday and I have hardly stopped crying since she flatlined while i was holding her hand in the hospital. I moved home to Detroit from Montana last summer cause My momma asked me to because she needed someone to help her face the possibility that she might have cancer. So I quit my job in Montana and moved back and started staying in my sisters house in my nephews old room. I was taking her down to the VA every appointment she had (cause my mom was a Vietnam era vet as a Lady Marine). I was there when they told her she had cancer and I stayed strong for her and held her as she cried when she learned the results. I reassured her she'd get through it and not die when she told me that I was the exact same age she was when her momma died of cancer. I promised her that I would be there for her and that we'd get her through the treatment. But I failed. and I feel terrible about it. Cause when I was a kid I thought I was invincible and I didn't need anyone, I partied and did drugs and lived wild and now I look back and realize how much I made her suffer when I was young. I just didn't want her to die from her worst fear and in the end there was nothing I could do. Now I am all alone with no home

I've repeated over and over that Eric Church is the greatest country musician of the 21st Century. Not Kenny Chesney, not Toby Keith, not Tim McGraw (though I respect all of their music). So much feeling, so much power in his music. What makes it even more incredible is that at the same time, he can put out awesome, upbeat, crank-it-up-and-cruise songs like What I Almost Was, Drink In My Hand, and The Outsiders and they sound just as good. Truly a dynamic talent, and one of the last Outlaws. Jamey Johnson is probably the only other 21st century guy who can claim that Outlaw status, although you could argue Aaron Watson.

I like fast cars and shop dreams,
Chased a lot of crazy things,
Left behind my share of broken pieces
    This morning I turned 36
And you just remember half of it
You wonder how you out-lived Hank or Jesus
I put the rage in a river, roll in a thunder
But you kept me from going under
When that current got too heavy
I always thought I'd be a heap of metal
And a cloud of smoke, foot stuck to the pedal
Sold for parts like a junkyard rusted-out Chevy
    Fear I've had none,
What the hell made you wanna love
A man who was gonna die young?
In the mirror I saw my surprise,
Who knew gray hairs like to hide on a head,
Didn't think he'd live past thirty
If I make it thirty more,
It's the brown that you'll be looking for
As you run your fingers through,
    Say slow down honey
I put the rage in a river, roll in a thunder
But you kept me from going under
When that current got too heavy
I always thought I'd be a heap of metal
And a cloud of smoke, foot stuck to the pedal
Sold for parts like a junkyard rusted-out Chevy
    Fear I've had none,
What the hell made you wanna love
A man who was gonna die young?
Call it intuition, or call it crazy
Just thought by now I'd be pushing up daisies
But I'd gladly stick around if we're together
So baby when you bow your head tonight,
Could you tell the Lord I've changed my mind
And with you I'd like to live forever

My ex sent this to me when we first started dating. It wouldnt load so i never listened to it. Found it reading old texts after he left me. Every song he listened to reflected how he felt and i missed it till now. And i feel so guilty for forgetting to go back and listen. This song fits him perfectly and i cry every time I listen

"Fear I've had none, what the hell made you love a man who was gonna die Young"
4 months ago my man wrapped his truck around a tree. He was 19. He was my best friend, my heart, my soul, my everything. We had just gotten engaged right before he had passed. Im barely 18, but never for a second did I doubt my love for my man. He came into my life and left it, and I just have to believe that it all happened for a reason, and thank God that I had the opportunity to have such a beautiful human being in my life even if it was for a short time... There's no harm in loving a man who died young.

No man in my family has lived past 50 so I always had it in my head that I wouldn't either and tried to live as much as I could while I could, but afraid of death. Now I'm no longer afraid, but I just want the hurt to go away.

Eric Church is by far my favorite musician. I seen him live in the summer and it almost seemed like he didn't want to be there.. I hope that's just part of his act to go along with his mellow sound

I always thought my lifestyle would get me but as my hair grey's and my energy slows my energy is redirected to give my family the things they need to be happy and survive in the long term that will get me, my grandfather lived for the family and I am going to do the same it's not the appeal, it's in a man to provide to give all ,to achieve what is needed for all ,that means the world to you to thrive

This song really resonates with me I understand every lyric cause unfortunately I lived my life fast and hard far too many times its about a guy who reaches the middle point of his life and reflects back on his past of all the stupid mistakes he's made along the way and see's the woman that has stood beside him through it all and wonders what about him made her stay why after everything he's done in his life and put her through as well made her love him enough to stay especially when there was so many times he shouldn't have lived through some of the things he did. I can relate I had an amazing wife that I managed to push out of my life and we've been separated for a year now and when she heard this song after I sent her the link she said she cried cause it definitely sounded like myself. So for those of you comparing the song to some of his others I guess you'll never really understand it cause you haven't lived it but in a way be glad cause to understand it doesn't always lead to a happy ending of the story.
