IKR it's so strange seeing them as normal people, and not the criminals they portrayed. It's easier to see Jonathan as normal though, I've seen him in other things. But as the only role I can recall seeing Mark in was Hector, it's just strange. I keep expecting him to ring a bell.

The thing they keep stressing throughout this whole interview is basically “let people help. Let urself suck. Try to do something cool and enjoy being poor.” It’s like exactly what both of these characters from the show probably regret the most; they did evil things to provide for their family. Such a pleasure to listen to two REAL actors reminisce and share their influences, their hardships and their wisdom from another era. What an honour to have these old masters bleeding their talent into our era for us to drink from their stories, to know that they also struggled for their art just like some of us. It truly inspires, especially knowing their work and the talent they have.
Wow. I have mad new respect for these guys. The characters that they played on Breaking Bad were absolutely incredible. I can’t imagine anyone else playing those roles. But. to these two men, Breaking Bad is just one job/experience that they have in their pockets. These men are actual thespians. I’m a musician, so this shouldn’t surprise me, but I’m incredibly moved by this interaction. Artists have no choice but to be artists. We don’t choose this endeavor, yet we’ll suffer through it for our whole life. It’s literally not a choice that we make, it’s not even a calling…it’s an obligation, or a sort of predetermined destiny. These two men have taken their destiny to the apex. Again, mad respect…
If they added Giancarlo Esposito to this conversation, you would have the moving force behind both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad in one room having one helluva converstion. R.I.P., Mark Margolis.

Since the first sentences they both said you knew this would be a brilliant conversation of two very wise man (great actors too, accidentally). Completely unpretentious, unsophisticated at the surface, and yet - full of so many smart and true observations about the world and life. I'm so happy I came across this clip (and the channel too).
I stumbled across this. I am drawn to actors who played adversaries discussing their craft. Showing interest in each other's work and respect for one another. I enjoy this!! But I still have difficulty getting my head around Hector Salamanca chatting with Mike Ehrmantraut.
As I get older I have gained such an appreciation for these incredible character actors and everything they bring to the table. These two gentlemen are great examples of two guys that make anything they were in that much better. Mark Margolis was a guy that had so much presence in any role I ever saw him in. You couldn’t help but be drawn to him. I have seen Jonathan Banks in less over the years but he is also a total pro. I get excited whenever I see him in something. … just a couple of absolute pros that brought instant credibility to anything they acted in.
I lived in NYC 30 years. Money was tight , I got my furniture from the streets. OR I built things from wood people threw out. I didn't find it demeaning , I was thrilled to get something for nothing . It was a fun adventure

Slow burn film, not for everyone - but if you've lived or worked in NYC, you'll enjoy it. Danny's a bookie in NYC, trying to retire - the entire movie takes place in his Manhattan restaurant. Awesome twist to end the movie :)
I always remember Mark as Alberto The Shadow from Scarface. He owned that part so well, that I was relieved to know that he had a kinder gentler side to his personality. That's the mark of a great actor, making you a believer in the character.

Two of my favorite actors! I remember Mark from the old TV show "The Equalizer" with Edward Woodward. But Jonathan Banks has been a favorite of mine since I first saw him in a short lived TV show called "Other World" (I think). Two of the best actors alive today!

Banks must have such an easy time acting. He literally just plays himself. Usually you see characters act completely different off set, but hes genuinely the same badass regardless what hes doing.

They are the true stars of the BB/ BCS universe.
Listening to these two legends converse is very fulfiling. It feels like therapy. It's great.
