I will be so genuinely sad if Jon doesn’t live to 150. He is such a great actor and so genuine and kind. Breaking Bad and Saul would be nothing without him.
Here's whats going to happen. Kevin will walk down the trail and make dumb jokes. I'll follow behind barley being able to keep up. Eventually we will talk to a rattlesnake guy who will confirm my sightings of yellow bellied trout.
I always love the end of an episode, because you can see Kevin is still clearly on the hike but the guest is nowhere to be seen. I’m concerned he’s pushing these people into a ravine and leaving them to die so he can close the episode.
I think it's more like Mike's last scene in Breaking Bad, and Kevin is Walter. Like all these guests after dealing with Kevin's ADHD for an entire hike, they just sit down next to a river and beg him to leave them there to die alone in peace 😂😂😂
it's a weird thing it got nominated and won 0 of the emmy's,hell bob was continuosly popping for lead actor but everytime it went to some other, same happened with steve carell for the office, feel bad for both.
"I broke my boy!" Man, I'm so glad they were able to let Mr Banks have a good scene like that. BCS added so much depth to that character and Banks killed it.
Mike is one of my all time favorite characters. I can't even imagine Breaking Bad or Better call Sal w/out that character. Jonathan just crushed it in his performance. Super impressed with him at 76 that he's still that active and in shape to do that hike. Great episode.
One of the greatest characters in all of TV and movie history (Mike Ehrmantraut) played brilliantly by one of the most fantastic actors to ever grace a screen. Thank goodness for Jonathan Banks.
Thank goodness for someone being able to spell!!!!! Also, your comment is dead on!!!!! Isn’t the man a straight genius!! I’m trying to think of anyone else who could have done as good or better, I can’t.

Hey, Kevin. One of your best videos. Love the cut in with the goatee. Jon is one of the underrated villains of the 1980’s and 90’s and to find out he is super cool. Invite him back to do a different trail. Love the exploration and the random sit downs and stuff. Keep it going!!!!
Mr. Banks is a national treasure. He gave so much to both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. I enjoyed this hike very much. Thank you! All the best to you both!
Thing I love about BB and BCS is characters like Mike and Jesse weren't meant to be around for very long yet turned into something amazing. I appreciate that so much
Just discovered this channel, how did I not know about this before... Great concept. Watched 3 so far and I always get out of breath watching. Jonathan is a tremendous actor and I'm currently watching Better Call Saul for the 5th time. Both shows are so well done and just perfect. I need to catch up and watch all these hiking videos. Take care and Great job Kevin. 👍🏻😎
Glad to see Jonathan so passionate about the Chumash tribe, myself being Akwesasne Mohawk here in New York, it's been hard over the years to find the accomplishments mentioned here outside of the local museums.
Mike Ermtraut (if I'd actually spelt that correctly) was easily the best character in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Good on you Mr. Johnathan Banks!
Imagine my joy when I rewatched Airplane (1980) and recognized Jonathan Banks in a small role. That's a pretty long, and good, career. Topped off by hiking with Kevin, of course.
the bit where you walk away and john gets quieter is just perfect. i love this show and i'm glad it finally found its audience. i remember randomly finding this when searching "where did Kevin Nealon go?" back in like 2019 i think and this channel had maybe 20k subscribers lol. And i found out where Kevin Nealon went, he went right over there!
Got to love how his compassion for the suroundings and knowledge of the area surpasses the otherwise iinflated egos of most actors. Genuinely, anyone could walk next to either one of you and enjoy the moments.
Hi Kevin. My mother met you after one of your sets this year and said you are the nicest guy ever. And they say never meet your heroes! Thanks for being you!
I already thought I recognized Jonathan Banks in your singing hike special, I tried to find it as an older video I might have missed, but now it makes sense you didn't publish it yet!
It looks like it was a great day for a hike in Malibu Creek State Park! I made it there to hike just once. There were so many movies and TV shows shot in there. It was nice to hear all the credit you gave to the writers! Thank you for another great video!
Love that Mike mentioned the Chumash growing corn. Planet of the Apes was filmed there and film makers grew a field of corn for the scene where the apes capture Taylor, Nova and the gang.
Holy shit, time is rough on us. But what a beautiful place. Pretty awesome little climb you did. Great to see the best character on Breaking Bad and at least third best guy on SNL in the wild.
One of the best, memorable characters every on television was Jonathan's in Breaking Bad and Never Call Saul. Great to see him walking and chatting with you.
Although he usually plays bad guys or anti-heros, he has the ability to portray his characters with added depth. He can also convey the characters disposition and intent without even saying a word.
What a mind-bending experience that would be to be walking along, and all of a sudden, you pass Kevin Nealon and Johnathan Banks. Like, "Did I just see that?"
Glad your back doing more Hiking with Kevin.....Nealon Always fun funny and interesting conversations. Thank you Jonathan as well...Kudos to your acting career as well
Good to see you out on the trails again--seeing the flowing water and wildflowers, this episode must have been in the can for awhile. Speaking of rattlesnake mating season, it would've been cool it you had happened upon a couple of males doing the dominance dance thing. Also, speaking of reptiles, I must admonish Johnathan for harassing the lizard 🙂. It's nice to know that he's aware of the Chumash heritage(and a little incensed about the lack of info at the visitor center)--I''d wager very few hikers have a clue about them. By the way, I think he deserves a better image in the thumbnail. Until next time, happy trails!
With all the rain and that mid-summer storm we had, I’m amazed at how late everything stayed green in the Santa Monicas. I rode Cheseboro Canyon yesterday and there’s still plenty of water crossings and wild flowers. So nice.
Happy birthday, Kevin. Amazingly, I not only share the same date, but the same year of 1953. I also hike here in Oregon on a regular basis. It's adding years to both our lives. Keep it up!
One of your best that I've seen. A pleasure to meet Jonathan Banks - so fit for his age (I'm inspired); my only credit reference is primarily his stellar performance in Wiseguy, but great hearing about Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul Nice to see everyone out hiking, great exercise. Thank you (both) for sharing!
I could listen to Jonathan Banks teach me about history and the native Americans all day lol. Honestly that's really awesome he was upset that house didn't mention anything about them, because at the very least it should be mentioned that was their land first.
Jonathon did not disappoint! Wouldn't have missed it, great hike with a tough old bird! Being a lot closer to his age I enjoyed hearing about his music tastes as well.
That was VERY enjoyable. I always enjoyed you on SNL and in your later TV work. Like you I've been a fan of Jonathan Banks since 48 Hrs and Beverly Hills Cop. My cousin Marl Feuerstein co-starred in Fired Up with Jonathan for a few seasons. I loved Jonathan's catchphrase, "Oh... Yeah!...". Thanks for these interesting videos.
5:09 I feel like when I see actor interviews and find the actor is not at all like the character I am even more impressed. I felt the same way when I first saw a James Gandolfini interview and discovered that he really didn't have that thick Jersey accent. That blew my mind. Seeing Banks like this shows that he is truly a master of his craft, creating something that supersedes his appearance.
One of the best scenes ever to grace television is when Mike is one of three bodyguards in a parking garage and he says, "If I need a gun, I'll take one from you." Sums up the Mike character in one scene. Brilliant writing and acting. Huge kudos.
