    Hard to tell without videos. But in general, heavy clean grip deadlifts and heavy squats will always help. I usually squat with the same stance I pull the bar with. Its comfy and I feel like it helps.

    both sports are cool, but oly lifts have the benefit of momentum once they start the movement. Power lifting is raw strength.

    • @treymiller5321
      @treymiller5321 7 років тому

      Bryan Wong strength wars have pitted olympic weight lifters and power lifters against each other in lifts such as squat, over head press, and deadlift. the olympic lifter has won every time

  • @AmishUnicorn
    @AmishUnicorn 11 років тому

    Powerlifting is so one-dimensional, with the olympic weights there's so much skill and it activates nearly every muscle you have. Powerlifting is just one single movement with every lift. At least that's how I see it, I'm sure you have your reasons.

  • @proxlamus
    @proxlamus 11 років тому

    @joshphillips27 There are many talented coaches and athletes who are very knowledge-able in weight lifting, but may not necessarily be able to lift weights due to injuries or lack of strength.

    most heavyweights in OL squats just about the same as a powerlifter or more in some cases, OL is about power, strenght, speed, flexibility and very mental part. you have to be a talent i more ways to become a good weightlifter than a powerlifter. no offence, just facts. thats why i choose OL over powerlifting, its more of an challenge
