I agree wholeheartedly with @RoseMolz..... YOU guys should be the headliners (STARS) of the NEXT SUPER BOWL!!!! Wholesome... Clean..... and the most wonderfully talented group I have ever seen in my 62 years on this earth!!! I cannot help but have a smile in my heart whenever I hear you guys sing and perform!!! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!!! For the record, I am watching from my daughter's home and her youtube page, but this comment is from her 62 year old Dad!
Haven't heard anything from Home Free I don't like. They put their spins on the songs and make them amazing. This group is 5 amazingly talented and gifted artists.
I was in the Navy in the early 70's stationed in Virginia when "Take Me Home Country Roads" came out. I was part of church sponsored young adult group and when we listened to any music, we usually sang along with them. We were from all over the country, and after a while we started singing this song slightly differently. I was from the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, and I sung it "California, mountain mamma, take me home, mountain roads..." one, of us was from Louisiana, and he sung it "Louisiana, swampy mamma, take me home, swampy roads..." A girl was an Okie and she sung it "Oklahoma, dusty mamma, take me home, dusty roads..." We even had a New Yorker that sung it "New York City, concrete mamma, take me home Brooklyn Roads..." (This last was a nod to Niel Diamond's Brooklyn Roads) There were other's from other parts of the country, but I can't remember exactly how they were worded. We did have fun with this song though.
Okay all the beat boxers in the popular accapella groups are amazing. Kevin from Pentatonix is awesome and Layne from Voiceplay is amazing too, but Adam sounds like a real drumset and it's insane. In the sing off he did a brush snare drum beat and I legitimately thought it was real and I have actually no idea how any human could do that he is so incredible
This song was my mom’s favorite song by John Denver. First time I heard you guys sing it I had to pull over to cry. She’s been gone for 7 years this April and I felt her with me that day. Thank you
As a West Virginian born and raised, let me say that this version gave me chills. You did this song justice, my friends. I look forward to more music from you guys!
My Papa grew up in West Virginia, and it's because his mom is still alive today that we go up there every summer. And although Jacksonville, Florida is my hometown, West Virginia gets me feeling like I'm where I belong. It feels like my home to me. Reply to me if you understand what I mean.
David, I also really enjoyed this version! Have you seen The Petersen's video of the same song? Both groups have done great with this iconic John Denver song.
My Mom was born on the family homestead in West Virginia and grew up in a little town called Flatwoods. Her family, the Halls, were living in the area later called West Virginia since the mid 1700s. Hall is a very major family name in the state. Her mom's family was rather large- 9 brothers and sisters- and most of them settled down around the small town of Sutton. My distant uncle owned a small country store and stating in the mid 1800s he started having Saturday night hymn sings the sort of morphed over the generations into Bluegrass fests where anybody who played an instrument would just ride their horses in from the farm and sit down around the inside of the store to commence what Hee Haw later called "Pickin an Grinnin". The music was great, the story tellin was great the food was off the charts and the atmosphere was fantastic. Sadly I was a youngin when the last of the generations who kept that tradition alive were starting to pass away but it is still great memory. I got to witness a few of the last get togethers. My uncle Van Hall's house is stil there where we held our family reunions. His old farm was 280 acres of hills. The ONLY level spot on the propertry was the floor of the house. I worked there one summer mowing hay with a horse drawn mower. My cousin and I raked the hay into long piles called wind rows, then we went back with a horsedrawn sleed to load up the hay to take it to the only automated equipment he had, the hay baler. Then we tossed them up into the barn hayloft. At the end of the day, we were exhausted and dusty, but a home cooked dinner of chicken and dumplings all made from scratch with the "donation" of a chicken that was up in the coop squawking that very morning, was a wonderful reward for a hard job, well done. What memories!
Sounds so beautiful. My husband grew up in the coal mining region of southern Kentucky. That's when people knew the value of a good days work. God Bless you and your family.
@@karenwhite2338 AS I grew up, our parents made sure we saw and experienced whar REAL 'living' was and to appreciate Nature and the incredible gift it is and to enjoy even the little things. Imagine how many people have never played in a little crick and caught crawdads or watched fireflies buzzing around and catching a few in a jar. How many have never tasted the sweet, cold water from a hand pumped well, or eaten green beans that you sat in the yard and snapped one by one from a lathe bushel basket, or tasted home churned butter that was in the cow a few hours earlier. Those are some of the best memories I was given as a kid and I will forever be grateful for those gifts from my parents. Our parents and grandparents who lived in that opart of the country and were not a part of a big city experienced a quality of life today;s kids will never know. One where you dont need batteries for all your enetrtainment. I never met a city kid who knew what whistling with a blade of grass sounded like. As a fan of His music and Accapella men’s groups, I have sung in several, you guys are one of my favorites and can’t wait to see you live. God Bless you, your music and your patriotism!

Preparing to leave to my mother in law's viewing tonight. Funeral tomorrow...can't believe I found this song. 10th time I've listened to it... The first 5 brought so many times I could barley stand. So beautiful, its lifted my heart today. God is good
That Home Free Signature Harmony hits me right from the off. The lush bass foundation of Tim Faust and Adam Chance, that underlays Home Free's interpretation of the classic John Denver song, is as solid as the Smokies we see in the video. Austin Brown's high tenor is that bone chilling echo of the people of the high mountains. Adam Rupp lends his brilliance to the heartbeat of the song, while Rob Lundquist and Adam Chance combine their velvety voices with runs that are a throwback reminder of the Blue Ridge voices that are so haunting. This is a New Classic. Home Free does it again. We have come to expect no less. And they never disappoint.
Always brings a tear. West Virginia, my home. We were living in the north for work and my younger brother died at 36 of a massive heart attack. His request was to be taken home. OK! This is the best I’ve ever heard of the song of John Denver. Others have tried to sing it, but never did a justice. Home Free is doing John Denver honor and they’re singing his song. You cannot compete with John Denver, so what did Home Free do? They made it their own, their way.

I'd hate to add one more, but I'll see you soon! I'm stubborn!
Fantastic harmony great slowed down version !!!
This. Song. Reminds. Me. Of. My. Childhood. My. Dad. Home. Free. Is. Amazing. Their. Voices. Powerful. And. All. The. Guys. Are. Sooo. Adorable
John Denver would be proud of this excellent rendition of one of his most famous signature songs!
I didn’t think anyone could do this song as well as John Denver, but you all nailed it! Fabulous! Thanks 🙏🏻
Someone played this quietly on an accoustic guitar as my dad lay dying in hospice. Take me Home, indeed. My dad and i never had a relationship, God knows i tried. Let him be at peace, Lord God. R. I. P Dad

I am a major John Denver fan, so I have been afraid to listen to this because I didn't want to be disappointed. I should have know they would do this song justice! John would have loved this. Thank you!
Suzanne Cole-Rice ...in jr. high, my phys.ed teacher [ i kid you not] had a john denver shrine in her office! and we all had to eat a whole bunch of frosted flakes to help earn collectible things! i think he must have done a commercial for the brand or something!
....oh man, the chords created by their harmonies are unbelievably brilliant! So gorgeously beautiful. Such care and professionalism is seldom seen, but we've got it in droves here.
Wow , real soul searching song to me !

John Denver would love this cover. Wow absolutely beautiful and great tribute to a legend...
I keep playing this cover over and over and over. Boys....you shine!!!! Stunning rendition. If John was looking down from heaven, he'd be tearing up with joy, no doubt. Such a beautiful treatment of the song. Well done, guys!!!! Thank you!!!!
OK! This is the best I’ve ever heard of the song of John Denver. Others have tried to sing it, but never did a justice. Home Free is doing John Denver honor and they’re singing his song. You cannot compete with John Denver, so what did Home Free do? They made it their own, their way.
Just.. WOW.
